Listening to Ye Qing’s words, the two Tomb Guarding Elders exchanged glances, their faces clearly showing some displeasure.

This made Ye Qing a bit worried. These two elders had always been dissatisfied with him. Seeing their expressions now, could they be planning to continue making things difficult for him in this matter? If that was the case, it would be quite troublesome. Without obtaining the Xuanyuan Sword, how could Ye Qing deal with the scabbard of the Minghong Knife from the Wanyan Family?

Yelu Ying also noticed the situation and quickly said, ”Elders, we’ve already discussed this matter with Ye beforehand. You also agreed that when the time comes, you would assist in opening the family’s Ancestral Tomb. Now that the time has arrived, you should discuss the tomb entry matter with Ye.”

Upon hearing Yelu Ying’s words, the two Tomb Guarding Elders furrowed their brows again. The taller elder glanced at Yelu Ying and then at Ye Qing, saying seriously, ”I want to repeat that your relationship is actually against the rules!”

Ye Qing felt instantly frustrated. These people are really stubborn. At this point, they’re still clinging to this issue. What do you want? Do I have to marry Yelu Ying for you to be satisfied?

”Elders...” Yelu Ying quickly tried to speak, but the taller elder waved his hand, saying, ”No need to say more. I know you want to speak on behalf of Mr. Ye. Don’t worry. Since we promised, we’ll definitely help you open the Ancestral Tomb. However, there are some things I still have to say.”

At this point, Ye Qing and Yelu Ying breathed a sigh of relief. They were worried that the two elders might stubbornly refuse to open the Ancestral Tomb, which would be troublesome. Now that they’ve agreed to open the tomb, there’s nothing to worry about. As for whatever else they have to say, those are minor things they decided to ignore.

The taller elder took a deep breath and said, ”In your eyes, we two old guys are just rigid old men, so stubborn that we might even seem a bit annoying.”

Those words made Ye Qing and Yelu Ying a bit embarrassed. That’s indeed what they thought, but hearing it from the elder made the atmosphere somewhat awkward.

Yelu Ying opened her mouth to speak, but the taller elder directly said, ”No need to refute my words. We’re not fools. I understand what you mean. If you refute, it would truly mean you take us for fools!”

Yelu Ying immediately swallowed back her words. The taller elder sighed and said, ”In your eyes, we two old folks are admittedly a bit overly stubborn. But let me tell you that our stubbornness is for the sake of the Yelu Family!”

These words left Yelu Ying a bit stunned. You two actually care about the Yelu Family? Aren’t you only concerned about the Ancestral Tomb?

The taller elder sighed again and said, ”The greatest secret of the Yelu Family is hidden inside the Ancestral Tomb. For a thousand years, the Yelu Family’s Ancestral Tomb has never been opened because the descendants of the Yelu Family didn’t have the ability to protect what’s inside. Without those treasures, the Yelu Family would become an ordinary family, even completely losing its heritage. The once Imperial Family of Yelu would disappear from history, ceasing to exist!”

Yelu Ying couldn’t help but sigh. What the taller elder said hit the nail on the head. The Yelu Family really has fallen to this state. Without the secret in the Ancestral Tomb, whether the Yelu Family exists or not is indeed insignificant.

”We two old guys have always been hidden in the ancient tomb, unaware of the outside world. But we aren’t fools. We clearly know what lies ahead for the Yelu Family once this biggest secret is handed over!” Looking at Yelu, he said: ”I have always insisted on you marrying Ye Qing. To you, it might seem like stubbornness. But do you know? If you marry Ye Qing, the remaining people of the Yelu Family will live better. If you don’t marry Ye Qing and everything in the Ancestral Tomb is gone, when the Yelu Family’s value is completely gone, what right does it have to stand here, protected by the World Alliance?”

Yelu Ying was immediately taken aback. She never imagined that the taller elder would say something like this. She always thought of the taller elder as annoyingly stubborn and couldn’t care less about the family’s affairs, only following ancestral rules. Who would have thought that the taller elder had been thinking about the Yelu descendants and their future lives?

Ye Qing was also somewhat touched. Previously, he couldn’t stand the two Tomb Guarding Elders of the Yelu Family, but these words made him see them in a new light.

”The Yelu Family only has these women left. After the family’s secret is gone, where would these women go?” The taller elder sighed, ”Perhaps from this generation, the Yelu Family name will disappear. Even so, I still hope that these people of this generation can live a good life. Even if the family’s secret is gone, they should be able to live well. That’s why I have always pushed for you to marry Ye Qing, hoping to preserve these people through this marriage alliance…”

At this point, the taller elder’s expression grew a bit despondent, ”But I didn’t expect you would end up using this method. Perhaps we two old folks are too selfish and haven’t considered your feelings. However, since it has come to this, how could we not support you?”

Looking at the taller elder, Yelu Ying’s throat choked up. Her eyes teared as she said softly, ”Elder, I’m sorry, I… I misunderstood you before!”

”Hahaha…” The taller elder chuckled kindly, patting Yelu Ying on the shoulder. ”There is something you didn’t know. Actually, I am your grandfather’s younger brother. I was chosen to guard the tomb back then, while your grandfather stayed to fight for the family!”

”What!?” Yelu Ying’s eyes widened at the revelation, staring at the taller elder in shock. Until now, she realized that the person before her was her Second Master. She had always thought the Tomb Guardians were unrelated by blood after several generations. She didn’t expect to have her own kin among them!

”When you were very young, I knew about your existence. Actually, I really wanted to help you find a better home!” The taller elder looked at Yelu Ying kindly and sighed, ”But now it seems, that’s not possible anymore!”

”Second Master…” Yelu Ying’s voice trembled. Having lost all her family, discovering such a close relative was incredibly moving for her.

”Ah!” The taller elder responded excitedly, his voice trembling a little. After such a long time, he was finally reunited with his grand-niece. He, too, was bursting with excitement.

Yelu Ying burst into tears, throwing herself into the taller elder’s arms and crying like a child.

The taller elder gently patted Yelu Ying’s shoulder before turning to Ye Qing, ”Alliance Leader Ye, given your current position, I’m not in a place to threaten you. However, I must say this: the Yelu Family’s greatest secret is entrusted to you. I hope you will safeguard the remaining members of the Yelu Family. Even if you and Ying’er can’t be together, I hope you’ll treat the remaining Yelu members as your own family, ensuring they suffer no harm.”

If such words had been spoken by the taller elder before, Ye Qing wouldn’t have cared. But after hearing his previous remarks, Ye Qing’s perspective of the elder had changed significantly, and he had newfound respect for this seemingly stiff old man.

”Rest assured!” Ye Qing said solemnly, ”Mr. Ye may not make grand promises, but I can say this: As long as I live, I will absolutely not let any member of the Yelu Family face the slightest insult!”

”Good!” The taller elder slammed the table, saying, ”Alliance Leader Ye, with your words, I am relieved!”

Ye Qing nodded slightly. It was clear to him that the taller elder went to such lengths to obtain this assurance from him. However, Ye Qing was more than willing to make this promise, as he was taking the most crucial thing from the Yelu Family and owed them an explanation.

”Let’s start discussing the Yelu Family Ancestral Tomb.” The taller elder gestured to the shorter elder beside him, who walked to the table and produced a map, placing it on the table.

”Is this the map of the Yelu Family Ancestral Tomb?” Ye Qing picked up the map, inspecting it as he asked.

”It’s an internal map, not external.” The taller elder explained.

”Oh?” Ye Qing scrutinized the map for a while, brows furrowing in confusion, ”Why do the paths on this map all seem like dead ends?”

The taller elder replied, ”Because the Time System is not aligned.”

”What do you mean by Time System is not aligned?” Ye Qing asked, puzzled.

The taller elder said, ”I don’t know the specifics, but that’s what the ancestral teachings say.”

At this moment, the shorter elder spoke up, ”When that day arrives, the map will change every hour. By then, study it closely, and you might discover the reason!”

”The map changes every hour?” Ye Qing felt confused. What does changing maps mean? If the map itself is unstable, how will anyone enter? Looking at the map, every path seemed almost like a dead end. A single wrong step, and wouldn’t that mean losing one’s life in there?
