Urban Martial Saint

Upon hearing Old Chen’s words, Ye Qing’s heart stirred instantly.

Is this old guy finally telling the truth? Is he on the run? From what? Is someone pursuing him? What is this old guy’s background, what complicated relationships does he have, why would someone be after him? Who are the pursuers? What is their strength? From their strength, we can gauge Old Chen’s abilities.

Ye Qing had long suspected that Old Chen’s background was not ordinary. After all, he was found inside the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master. Although he repeatedly claimed he entered by accident, Ye Qing didn’t quite believe him. Accidentally entered, when others couldn’t even with intent over thousands of years? Who are you kidding?

And then there’s the matter at Xiliang Mountain. Old Chen clearly fell off the cliff, yet ended up lively outside the mountain. He claimed he was saved by hanging onto a tree, but those were his words, and Ye Qing wasn’t necessarily convinced.

The incidents at Panlong Valley and this one at Mount Wendao could practically be considered as one. Both times, Old Chen appeared like a specter, seemingly out of nowhere. Moreover, he appeared exactly in the direction from which Qing Mang emerged, forcing Ye Qing to associate him with Qing Mang.

Therefore, in Ye Qing’s mind, he had already determined Old Chen was absolutely not an ordinary person. But who exactly is he? He says he is being chased? By whom? What exactly is his strength?

Taking a deep breath and suppressing his shock, Ye Qing looked at Old Chen and asked, ”Who’s chasing you?”

”Ah!” Old Chen sighed, took another drag on his cigarette, and said, ”You know the people chasing me.”

”Oh?” Ye Qing’s eyes lit up — even he knew them. So who could it be? Who bears a grudge against Old Chen? And why?

”Who is it?” Ye Qing hurriedly asked.

Old Chen sighed repeatedly and helplessly replied, ”It’s those Yelu family’s people!”

”What?” Ye Qing was somewhat bewildered. He had been thinking of other experts, so how did it turn out to be the Yelu family? If it’s the Yelu family pursuing Old Chen, then Old Chen’s strength must be pretty mediocre, since the Yelu family’s strength is weak at present. Moreover, why is the Yelu family chasing him? What grudges exist between him and them?

”You can’t blame me for this!” Seeing Ye Qing silent, Old Chen immediately started complaining, ”I’m innocent too. I accidentally passed by that little girl’s room and saw steam coming out. I wondered if the faucet inside was left open, so I opened the window to take a look. Who knew that girl was bathing, and as a result... they claimed I peeked at her showering and insisted on beating me up! You tell me, isn’t that bullying? Am I the kind of person that peeks at people showering?”

Upon hearing this, Ye Qing almost spat blood. Damn it, after all this talk, it turns out to be this matter. You sneaky old fool, you peeked at the Yelu family women bathing, and now they want to deal with you. No wonder he kept telling Ye Qing not to get angry before; honestly, hearing this, Ye Qing felt an urge to hit him.

Ye Qing knew Old Chen’s character, aside from being greedy and talkative, he was also extremely lustful. Ye Qing certainly didn’t believe his words. The old guy definitely peeked at the women bathing and got caught. As for checking if the tap was off, that’s certainly nonsense!

Taking a deep breath, Ye Qing forcibly suppressed his anger and said, ”That’s not what I want you to talk about!”

”Then what do you want me to talk about?” Old Chen looked at Ye Qing in surprise.

”I want you to tell me how you ended up here?” Ye Qing said, ”Didn’t I ask them to hide you properly, keep you away? Did you get lost and end up here? Tell me how you got lost? It’s over two hundred miles from where you were hiding to here. You’d have to be lost for half a month to end up here, right?”

”Oh, that’s what you’re talking about!” Old Chen suddenly realized, waving his hands, ”Why didn’t you say earlier? I thought it was that Yelu family matter. About this, it’s quite a long story. I...”

”Make it short!” Ye Qing immediately interrupted Old Chen; he knew Old Chen’s nature. This guy can babble for hours on a small thing, and Ye Qing didn’t dare let him start.

”Uh...” Old Chen scratched his head and said, ”Isn’t this about the Yelu family being like a dog biting Lu Dongbin, not recognizing a good heart, insisting that I peeked at that girl showering and wanting to deal with me? But you know, I’m the kind who can reason anywhere in the world. As long as I’m in the right, I definitely won’t engage in politeness with them, I just argued with them a bit. As a result, those bastards got angry, shouting that if I didn’t apologize, they’d kill me. Damn it, am I the sort to be casually threatened? Especially when I’m not wrong, why should I apologize?”

”I asked how you got here...” Ye Qing said helplessly, ”Why are you telling me all this?”

Old Chen: ”Listen to me say it slowly, aren’t I still getting to it?”

Ye Qing: ”Didn’t I ask you to keep it brief?”

Old Chen: ”I’ve already made it brief. You at least need to know the cause and effect, right? I can’t just summarize it in one sentence!”

Ye Qing was completely speechless and waved his hand feebly, signaling Old Chen to continue.

Old Chen said, ”You know my temper, right? I’m the type that would rather break than bend, so how could I be intimidated by a few threats from them? However, those people relied on their numbers and young strength to bully me, and there’s no way I’d lose in front of them. Seeing the situation, I decided to slip away immediately. Who knows what would happen if I stayed? So, I sneaked out when no one was paying attention and hid in a car in the yard. Unexpectedly, this car was the one Helian Tiehua drove to Mount Wendao, which ended up bringing me here!”

”That’s how you ended up here?” Ye Qing’s eyes widened. He thought he could uncover some crucial secret, but who would have thought it was just this trivial matter?

”How else would I have gotten here?” Old Chen looked at Ye Qing.

”...” Ye Qing was dumbfounded and said, ”Are you trying to fool me?”

”Come on, your words are too distrustful of me, aren’t they? What’s our relationship? How could I fool you?” Old Chen immediately said, ”I really got brought here by that car. I fell asleep in the car, and when I woke up, I was all alone. I was hungry, so I got off to look for food but got lost in the mountains, accidentally ending up there. Along the way, I encountered so many snakes that I fainted from fright. Then you all found me, that’s the whole story!”

Ye Qing forced himself to resist the urge to vomit blood and said, ”Tell me the truth, is this really how you got here?”

Old Chen: ”I’m telling you the truth. If you don’t believe me, you can call back and ask the Yelu Family if this is true!”

”You don’t need to deceive me!” Ye Qing stared at Old Chen and said, ”Someone saw it. That specter came from your body. How do you explain this?”

No one on Ye Qing’s side saw this, so Ye Qing was purposely bluffing Old Chen to see how he’d react.

Old Chen had a bewildered expression and said, ”What specter? What came from my body?”

From Old Chen’s expression, he seemed genuinely unaware of the specter affair. This left Ye Qing confused, wondering if he indeed misunderstood Old Chen and if the specter really had nothing to do with him?

However, looking at Old Chen, Ye Qing still couldn’t believe this matter wasn’t related to him. In Ye Qing’s heart, he felt Old Chen was suspicious. But this Old Chen was too clever, too good at hiding, so he couldn’t find a single clue!

”Stop pretending, several people on my side saw it!” Ye Qing bluffed Old Chen again: ”Just tell the truth, or I’ll send you to the Yelu Family for them to settle accounts with you!”

”Come on, how could you be so shameless?” Old Chen immediately glared and said: ”I told you the truth, yet you want to frame me for something? What specter appeared from my body? Explain what that even is! And you said you wouldn’t be angry, but now you want to send me to the Yelu Family, that’s not keeping your word!”

”Who said I wasn’t keeping my word? I’m not angry.” Ye Qing said: ”But you peeped at the women bathing, you need to give an answer for that!”

”I said it has nothing to do with me. I was being kind, worried the faucet wasn’t turned off and would waste water!” Old Chen said with a collapsed face: ”I really didn’t peek at that girl bathing!”

”Whether you peeked or not, telling me doesn’t help, explain it to the Yelu Family later and see if they believe you!” Ye Qing waved his hand and said: ”I still say, if you can’t explain the specter matter, wait for the Yelu Family to deal with you!”

”Hey, how could you be this way? You’re clearly threatening me!” Old Chen immediately slapped the sofa and said: ”Do you think I’m the type to be threatened? Ever heard of ’unyielding to intimidation’? I tell you, I’m the type who would rather stand dead than kneel alive. There’s no way you can threaten me!”

”Then go explain to the Yelu Family slowly!” Ye Qing pursed his lips, opened the car door, and walked out, not wasting any more words with Old Chen. He wanted to put pressure on Old Chen, make him uncomfortable, and see if he could extract any information. But considering Old Chen’s sly demeanor, Ye Qing wasn’t confident; the secrets this old fellow held probably wouldn’t be easy to bluff out.
