Urban Martial Saint

Seeing the situation, Wanyan Second Master slightly frowned, then said coldly, ”Hmph, Ye, do you think you can achieve enough by ambushing some people in the mountains? My Long-toothed Rat Swarm is something you simply cannot withstand. Today, no matter how many people you have, you must all die here!”

Ye Qing didn’t respond to Wanyan Second Master’s words, but quietly watched the Long-toothed Rat Swarm spreading upwards. When the rat swarm was about to reach the flat ground, Ye Qing suddenly waved his hand and shouted, ”Move!”

Upon hearing Ye Qing’s command, the people on the Wanyan Family’s side retreated slightly, clearly daunted by the situation. Although they seemed certain of victory, it appeared that Ye Qing’s side was prepared as well, leaving them unsure of what would happen next.

At Ye Qing’s order, those who appeared on the mountain moved immediately. Not far from them were piles of large boulders. These men moved behind the boulders and pushed them down from the mountain.

The boulders, being round, rolled down the mountain path, reaching the flat ground, and continued rolling down the path below. There, the tidal wave-like Long-toothed Rat Swarm surged upward. When boulders rolled into the swarm, they crushed a large section. The Long-toothed Rats couldn’t evade the boulders and were crushed to death, leaving a trail of blood behind. The rats’ shrill cries of distress echoed, but the situation remained unchanged.

The onlookers downhill were stunned by the sight, now ignoring other matters as they dodged the falling boulders. The mountain held many boulders, and the men on the mountain kept pushing them down, crushing the Long-toothed Rat Swarm to death, eliminating the first wave completely.

Seeing the crushed swarm, Ye Qing’s side cheered. Their greatest dread was the Long-toothed Rat Swarm, and they never expected the stones Ye Qing prepared would obliterate so many rats, filling them with joy.

By contrast, the Wanyan Family’s members below had a grim look. They never imagined Ye Qing would use such a method to thwart their Long-toothed Rat Swarm. Seeing the decimated swarm, they were furious, cursing at Ye Qing up on the mountain.

”Ye, you are so despicable!” Wanyan Second Master shouted angrily.

”Despicable?” Ye Qing laughed coldly, saying, ”As the saying goes, all’s fair in war. When you use the Long-toothed Rat Swarm to attack others, it isn’t despicable, but when I use the terrain to fight your rat swarm, it’s despicable?”

Wanyan Second Master clenched his teeth and shouted angrily, ”Hmph, Ye, don’t celebrate too soon. How many Long-toothed Rats did you crush? Ten thousand? Or five thousand? Do you know the difference in numbers? You have so few stones, and I have countless rats. Do you really think your small scheme can stop my Long-toothed Rat army?”

Ye Qing sneered in silence, knowing he wasn’t truly happy. He realized his strategy was trivial against millions of Long-toothed Rats. The rats were too numerous, and the mountain didn’t contain enough stones. Even if the whole mountain was brought down, it wouldn’t kill all the rats. This battle couldn’t be fought!

Wanyan Second Master took a deep breath, waved his hand, and shouted, ”Continue!”

Under his command, the second wave of Long-toothed Rats charged at Ye Qing’s group aggressively. The rats seemed even fiercer, having smelled the blood on the path, and charged upward faster.

Ye Qing continued organizing another stone roll, crushing the second wave of rats as well. The third, fourth, and fifth batches were all crushed by boulders. However, by the sixth wave, Ye Qing’s side was nearly out of resources. The mountain had no more usable stones.

Seeing this, Wanyan Second Master laughed loudly, ”Hahaha, no more stones? Let’s see what else you can do! Advance, attack!”

This time, Wanyan Second Master sent in even more Long-toothed Rats, aiming to wipe out Ye Qing and his group completely. With no stones left, the previous strategy couldn’t work. The rat swarm charged onto the flat ground without obstruction, surging menacingly toward Ye Qing and his group. From the rear, the rat swarm advanced like a well-trained army, rushing unhesitatingly toward Ye Qing and his allies, who could even hear the rats’ teeth grinding.

Ye Qing and his companions backed away slowly, seemingly at a loss. Meanwhile, Wanyan Second Master and his men looked on with cold smiles; to them, the outcome of this battle was already certain—Ye Qing and his crew were bound to lose!

”Go! Tear them all apart!” Wanyan Second Master shouted angrily, also discreetly instructing those beside him, ”Looks like they don’t have time to deal with the Dragon-breaking Knife; once Ye Qing’s group retreats, go grab that knife immediately!”

The people beside him nodded in agreement, ready to seize the Dragon-breaking Knife at any moment.

The Long-toothed Rat Swarm surged onto the flat ground like a gray wave seen from above, rolling toward Ye Qing and his group. The swarm wasn’t fast, but the tide-like advance was unsettling to anyone watching.

Facing the vast swarm of Long-toothed Rats, Ye Qing and his companions had completely lost the strength to resist. Or perhaps they could kill many Long-toothed Rats, but compared to the millions of the swarm, the number they could kill wouldn’t even count as a fraction.

The people from the Wanyan Family were full of joy; in their eyes, this battle was essentially over. Once the Long-toothed Rat swarm charged forward, the battle would be finished without their involvement, as the swarm could handle everything.

Step by step, the Long-toothed Rat swarm pushed forward, and Ye Qing and his companions were forced to retreat. Finally, just as the swarm occupied most of the flatland, Ye Qing suddenly shouted, ”Take action!”

”Take action again?” Someone from the Wanyan Family in the valley couldn’t help but exclaim. At this point, what other tricks could Ye Qing possibly have? The stones on the mountain were gone, what else could Ye Qing do?

Even Wanyan Second Master was taken aback, unsure of what Ye Qing intended to do. Just then, two people rushed out from the crowd, each holding a torch. They rushed ahead of the swarm of Long-toothed Rats and bent down as if they were lighting some sort of fuse on the ground. A trail of flame suddenly shot towards the swarm.

Seeing this, Wanyan Second Master’s expression changed. He quickly retreated, shouting, ”Watch out for explosives!”

The Wanyan Family was thrown into chaos. If there were explosives, what would they do? Everyone hurriedly retreated in confusion, entangling with each other in utter disarray.

But in fact, what everyone anticipated — an explosion — did not happen. Instead, the two fuses stopped when they reached the center of the flatland, and a burst of fire shot up into the sky, rapidly spreading in all directions.

The ground of the flatland was on fire?

Everyone from the Wanyan Family was dumbfounded. What was going on? How did the ground catch fire so quickly?

The flatland was filled with the swarm of Long-toothed Rats; as the flames rose, the swarm was engulfed in fire. Everyone heard the swarm’s screeching cries, while the flickering flames and the smell of burning fur rushed at them, making them want to vomit. The swarm that charged forward met no exceptions; not a single one escaped the reach of the flames, completely surrounded by fire!

At this point, everyone finally realized what Ye Qing’s command meant — it was the signal to ignite the fire.

Wanyan Second Master was stunned for a long moment before gradually coming to his senses. He gritted his teeth, clenched his fists, and roared in anger, ”Ye, you actually buried gasoline under the soil!”

”Is it not allowed?” Ye Qing replied loudly.

Wanyan Second Master had no response, watching the sky-high flames, trembling with rage. Previously, at most, fifty to sixty thousand Long-toothed Rats were crushed to death by the rolling stones, but this time was different. At least two hundred thousand were engulfed in flames, and this loss was no small matter. He could disregard the previous losses, but this time, he could not ignore it!

”You think this can change the battle?” Wanyan Second Master yelled in anger. ”I have millions of Long-toothed Rats, millions! Do you think your petty tricks can really kill that many Long-toothed Rats? Let me tell you, none of you will leave here alive today. Especially you, if I catch you, I will tear you to pieces to quell my hatred!”

”Hahaha...” Ye Qing laughed aloud. ”Just see if you can catch me. Wanyan Number Two, don’t say I didn’t warn you; there are more similar traps on this mountain. As long as your swarm dares to come up, I dare to kill them. I want to see if your swarm is more numerous or my traps more potent!”

Wanyan Second Master was ready to send more swarms up the mountain, but upon hearing Ye Qing’s words, he dared not make a move. He didn’t know how many traps Ye Qing had set up there. If there were several more like this, his swarm could lose at least a million. This is a loss he could not afford. If he really lost that many, he wouldn’t be able to explain it to Wanyan Hongfeng!

The fate of Wanyan Hongsheng made Wanyan Second Master realize that so-called blood brothers meant little. If he made mistakes, Wanyan Hongfeng would not spare him. So, he truly dared not be careless and truly dared not let his swarm suffer greater losses!

But if he didn’t let the swarm ascend the mountain, then how could this battle be fought? Could it be that they really had to rely on personal strength to fight against Ye Qing and his people?
