Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing glanced coldly at the young man and said, ”You indeed wasted my time. My time is so valuable, shouldn’t I ask you for compensation?”

A young man said urgently, ”But, you came down by yourself, and you also injured us. How can you blame us for that?”

”So, you think I’m in the wrong?” Ye Qing shook the wrench in his hand and said, ”Do you think I’m wrong?”

Seeing Ye Qing’s actions, the two young men immediately shut their mouths, not daring to utter another word.

”Let me tell you, this society is straightforward. If you bully others with power, naturally, someone more powerful than you will bully you!” Ye Qing looked coldly at these two young men and said, ”I don’t want to waste words with you. Three hundred thousand, and I will let you leave. If you can’t deliver, each of you will leave a leg here today!”

The two young men shuddered and exchanged a glance, then helplessly ran to the trunk and pulled out a briefcase.

Actually, when Ye Qing smashed the car earlier, he already saw the money hidden inside, which is why he extorted such a large amount from them. This money was originally intended for their gambling at a nearby casino. But now, to save their lives, they had no choice but to hand it over. They didn’t dare doubt Ye Qing’s words, fearing that he really would cut off their legs.

”Boss, three... three hundred thousand is here...” A young man handed the briefcase to Ye Qing, trembling as he spoke, ”Now... can we leave now?”

”No rush.” Ye Qing waved his hand and said, ”Don’t go yet. I have something to discuss with you two. Come, sit over there and wait for me. Don’t run, or I’ll have to break your legs!”

The two young men didn’t expect that handing over the money wouldn’t earn them freedom. They could only walk to the side with dejected faces, not daring to run.

Ye Qing took the briefcase and handed it to the van driver, saying, ”This money is enough for you to repair your car. Go get it fixed first.”

The van driver didn’t dare accept the money and quickly shook his head, saying, ”Sir, about what happened earlier, I really appreciate your help. But, you should leave quickly. Li Gang is very influential in Tianzhao City. If he comes looking for you, it’ll be trouble. You shouldn’t take this money...”

”Are you afraid of him?” Ye Qing chuckled.

”This...” The van driver felt awkward and said in a low voice, ”Sir, it’s not just me who’s afraid of him. It’s... it’s that everyone around here is basically afraid of him. Even if I don’t take this money, I won’t have peace in the future. Sir, you are a good man, I can’t involve you, you should leave quickly.”

It was clear that the van driver was very afraid of Li Gang, indicating that Li Gang’s reputation in Tianzhao City was indeed not good.

”No worries, take the money!” Ye Qing directly pushed the briefcase into the van driver’s hands, smiling: ”Since I dared to take on these three people and smash their car, I know what I’m doing. Rest easy and take the money home. As for Li Gang, you don’t need to worry, I will handle it myself.”

”Huh?” The van driver was stunned and looked at Ye Qing in shock. After a while, he asked softly, ”Sir, what do you do?”

Honestly, Ye Qing’s confidence had the van driver suspecting whether Ye Qing was the child of some high official.

Ye Qing said softly, ”I came from the Capital, it’s not convenient to disclose my specific identity. You have nothing to worry about, I’ll take care of the matters here for you!”

”The Capital!” The van driver drew a sharp breath. Though Ye Qing didn’t say much, his mysterious demeanor and confidence made the driver believe Ye Qing must be the child of some top official in the Capital. Even if not, Ye Qing definitely wasn’t an ordinary person in the Capital, or else he wouldn’t exhibit such confidence.

And this steadied the van driver’s heart. He was worried about the consequences of this event, but now knowing Ye Qing’s identity wasn’t simple, he didn’t need to worry anymore, as Ye Qing would handle this matter himself.

”Sir, is this... is this really okay?” The van driver was so excited that his voice trembled.

”Of course.” Ye Qing pressed the briefcase into his hands and said, ”Hurry home. I have some matters to tend to here. Rest assured, no one will trouble you!”

The van driver was overjoyed. He initially thought his life was over after this incident. Paying for such a car would cost his lifetime earnings. But unexpectedly, the situation took such a dramatic turn, allowing him to avoid paying a dime, and he even received a large sum of money, making it feel almost surreal.

Holding the briefcase, he thanked Ye Qing profusely, almost kneeling, before driving away hastily.

After sending off the van driver, Ye Qing turned directly toward the two young men from before. They were still squatting obediently not far away, not daring to escape. However, it was apparent from their cold stares at the departing van that they memorized its license plate, intending to seek trouble later.

Though these two young men feared Ye Qing, they did not fear the van driver. In contrast, they both resented the van driver for the incident and were scheming revenge.

Their reactions were anticipated by Ye Qing, who calmly approached them and said, ”What now? Planning revenge on him?”

”N-no...” both shook their heads and waved their hands, trembling with fear of Ye Qing.

”Feel free to go after him.” Ye Qing smirked coldly and said, ”But a word of advice: mind your own business first. Since you’ve compensated financially today, let it end here. However, this matter isn’t over. If you seek revenge, feel free to come after me; my name is Ye Qing. If they haven’t heard of me, they can call the Provincial Military Region to verify, or directly contact Vice Premier Su Guoxuan in the Capital!”

Hearing this, the two young men almost wet themselves. Being second-generation officials, they well understood the significance of the Provincial Military Region and the stature of the Vice Premier, of whom they could only dream. And now, Ye Qing suggested contacting the Vice Premier to verify his identity, implying a non-trivial relationship with the Vice Premier—likely a kinship. Such a figure was beyond their capacity to offend!

”Sir, so you’re really with Vice Premier Su. Oh, we were blind as bats earlier and offended you. Please don’t... don’t hold it against us,” one young man said, trembling.

”Rest assured, I won’t take it to heart,” Ye Qing smiled and said, ”I will contact Uncle Su about this. You should know Uncle Su loathes corruption among officials. Of course, if your family elders are clean, there’s no worry. If not, you better prepare for jail. You’ll be busy in the coming days, likely too occupied to deal with the van driver!”

Hearing this, one young man wet himself directly, a large stain spreading on his pants. He had no time to care and said urgently, ”Sir, please... please spare us. We... we really didn’t intend it, and... and my father is very upright; there shouldn’t be... no need to trouble the Vice Premier...”

”Upright official?” Ye Qing glanced at the luxury car nearby and sneered, ”A car worth three hundred seventy thousand—if your father were truly upright, how many years’ salary would that take? You think I’m stupid?”

”This... this car isn’t ours, it’s a friend’s. They lent it to us for fun...” one young man replied hastily.

”Whether it’s yours, a check will clarify.” Ye Qing said, ”You needn’t hastily deny it. Prepare to face the inquiry. It’s getting late, and I don’t have time to bicker. You better think of how to explain this to your father!”

Ye Qing gave a cold smile, ignoring the two young men, and returned to his car. They chased after him, apologizing and begging for mercy, almost kneeling. But Ye Qing paid them no mind and drove off.

Watching Ye Qing’s car disappear, the two young men exchanged troubled looks. Others might not know, but they knew well that their fathers weren’t spotless. If thoroughly investigated, there’d surely be trouble. Most importantly, they caused this mess and didn’t know how to explain it to their families. If their families learned the whole story, they’d be beaten senseless before the Capital officials even arrived!

In truth, if authorities launched a full investigation, their fathers might lose their positions and face jail. And this was entirely their fault, leaving them at a loss for explanations.

In the car, after dealing with the young men, Ye Qing felt relieved and continued driving toward Jin Village.

No sooner had he set off than an elder in the back suddenly spoke: ”Young man, can you pull over for a moment?”

”What’s up?” Ye Qing queried, puzzled by the elder’s request, but obediently pulled to the roadside and stopped.

Old Wang Ba turned, equally puzzled at the two elders, and said, ”Didn’t we tell you to visit the restroom before we left? Why the need now?”
