Urban Martial Saint

Returning to Tianzhao City again, Ye Qing felt somewhat apprehensive. After all, the last time he was here, he had caused quite a stir in the Wanyan Family, dismantling their ancestral tomb and releasing the people from the Wanyan Family’s Sky Prison. Because of this, Prince Wan Yan was determined to kill Ye Qing.

Although Ye Qing’s personality was fearless, he was not foolish and truly did not want to return to Tianzhao City.

This time, he was almost forced by Old Wang Ba to come here, so Ye Qing had no choice. He could only hope that the Wanyan Family’s most powerful, Prince Wan Yan, was not around. Otherwise, with Ye Qing’s strength, coming here would be like walking into a trap.

After getting off the plane, the sky was still light. Ye Qing waited until it got dark before finally arriving at Jin Village where Wan Yan Manor was located.

After the previous incident, the security in Jin Village had become significantly tighter. However, Ye Qing had been here before and was very familiar with the layout. To him, these guards were almost non-existent; he easily slipped into Jin Village.

In Jin Village, all the hotels and accommodations were gone, and the once bustling marketplace had turned desolate. This was the Wanyan Family’s doing. After the previous incident, the Wanyan Family concluded that too much activity would only disrupt their security work. Therefore, they closed most of the shops, making the marketplace desolate.

This desolation proved to be quite effective, at least making it easier for the Wanyan Family to control the area. As Ye Qing made his way to Jin Village, he had to be extremely cautious of the Wanyan Family people. If someone were to discover his identity, it would be disastrous. Considering his previous actions here, Ye Qing had no doubt that the Wanyan Family members would come out in full force to hunt him down.

Although Ye Qing had arrived here, finding Old Wang Ba was still a troublesome task. He circled around the deserted marketplace a few times, hoping to find some secret signal or sign from Old Wang Ba. However, after walking back and forth, Ye Qing found nothing and had to give up.

Old Wang Ba, that old fox, wouldn’t have stood him up again, would he?

Frustration filled Ye Qing’s heart, but there was nowhere to vent. As the sky darkened further and fewer people roamed the streets, his presence on the street became even more conspicuous. With no other option, Ye Qing decided to leave Jin Village for now. If he stayed any longer, the chances of being discovered by the Wanyan Family would increase significantly.

Not long after walking out of Jin Village, a sudden honking came from behind. Ye Qing slightly turned his head and saw an electric scooter wobbling toward him. He stepped aside to make way for it. But instead of passing by, the scooter stopped right beside him.

”Hey there.” The rider greeted Ye Qing in English with a heavy Northeast accent, almost leaving Ye Qing uncertain of what was said.

”And you are?” Ye Qing looked at the rider with surprise, finding the person familiar. However, the rider was wearing large women’s sunglasses, covering half of the face, making it impossible for Ye Qing to recognize him.

”Come on, it’s only been a little while, and you’ve already forgotten the Eighth Master!” The rider pulled off the women’s sunglasses, revealing himself as Old Wang Ba.

”Damn it!” Ye Qing almost lost it, grabbing Old Wang Ba by the collar, fearing the old fox might suddenly run away again.

”Hey, hey, hey, calm down, calm down.” Old Wang Ba hastily raised his hands, saying, ”Don’t get excited, okay? Since the Eighth Master himself came to see you, I surely won’t run away. Come on, relax for a bit, let’s talk things out. We’re civilized people, gentlemen argue with words, not hands. Hey, if you don’t listen, the Eighth Master might get angry. Damn, what the hell, this close to Jin Village, you making such a fuss, do you want the Wanyan Family to discover us?”

That last line made Ye Qing let go, realizing that with them being so close to Jin Village, it would be bad if the Wanyan Family discovered them.

”Tell me quickly, where is Zi Yu now!” Ye Qing asked in a low voice.

”No need to rush, since we’re meeting, I will definitely answer your question.” Old Wang Ba put on the women’s sunglasses again and casually patted the back seat of the scooter, saying, ”Come on, hop on. Let’s go back and talk slowly!”

Ye Qing glanced at Old Wang Ba’s scooter, which was like a bicycle-style electric scooter, even with pedals. The scooter itself was very small, and the back seat was even narrower. Old Wang Ba riding such a thing with women’s sunglasses, who knew what he was proud about.

Ye Qing did not refuse and directly sat on the back seat, holding onto Old Wang Ba’s clothes, fearing the old fox might suddenly escape.

”Hold on, I’m going to speed up!” Old Wang Ba said from the front.

Ye Qing was speechless; could this scooter really go fast enough to throw someone off?

”Let’s go!” Ye Qing replied with a touch of annoyance.

”Alright, heading home!” Old Wang Ba coolly flipped his hair back and twisted the scooter’s throttle. The vehicle chugged forward slowly. Possibly due to the weight of two people, the speed was not fast, and maintaining balance was not easy, making the scooter wobble continuously.

Ye Qing, sitting at the back, always felt that Old Wang Ba’s driving skills were questionable, so he let his feet dangle down. If Old Wang Ba’s driving faltered, Ye Qing could quickly stand on the ground, avoiding a crash and burn together.

”How’s that? Eighth Master’s driving skills, pretty good right?” Old Wang Ba asked smugly.

Ye Qing looked at Old Wang Ba and suddenly asked, ”Old Wang Ba, did you change your hairstyle?”

Old Wang Ba used to have that typical traitorous middle-part hairstyle, slicked back every day with mousse gel, looking stiff as if a cow had licked it. And that kind of stuff turns into white flakes when it dries, so Old Wang Ba’s hair always seemed like he had a lot of dandruff.

But this time, Old Wang Ba’s hairstyle had changed to a long fringe style that hung to one side. As he rode the scooter and talked, he’d always flick his hair, as if he was very pleased with himself. However, this style, paired with his sleazy face and those oversized women’s sunglasses, made him look more like a pervert.

Hearing Ye Qing’s words, Old Wang Ba immediately tossed his hair confidently and said, ”How is it? Cool, right?”

Ye Qing resisted the urge to kick him. This old guy really dared to say anything. Your style and ”cool” are in completely opposite directions.

Actually, Ye Qing quite admired Old Wang Ba’s courage. This old fellow had skin thicker than a city wall, could do anything, and could pull off any style. Most importantly, after coming up with these looks, he didn’t feel embarrassed at all; instead, he felt good about himself. That kind of self-confidence was something almost no one else could match.

”Cool or not?” Seeing Ye Qing not saying anything, Old Wang Ba said unhappily, ”What? Does Eighth Master’s style not work?”

”Where did you get this electric scooter?” Ye Qing didn’t want to dwell on the hairstyle issue with Old Wang Ba, so he quickly changed the topic.

”Oh, borrowed it.” Old Wang Ba replied.

Ye Qing: ”And the sunglasses?”

Old Wang Ba: ”Uh, borrowed the electric scooter from a woman.”

Ye Qing stared for a while at the exposed wiring at the front of the electric scooter and asked, ”How come there’s no key for this scooter?”

The keyhole at the front of the scooter had been pried open, and the wires were clearly manually connected, which made one have no choice but to suspect the real origin of this scooter.

Old Wang Ba explained, ”When I borrowed it, the key was just not there, so I had to use other methods.”

Ye Qing almost spat out a mouthful of old blood and glared, ”You stole this scooter, didn’t you?”

”Hey, what’s with your attitude? What do you mean ’stole’? This is called borrowing without asking!” Old Wang Ba said, ”Besides, it’s not like I’m not giving it back. Ah, man, stop blabbering, can’t you see this scooter is getting slower and slower? Damn, the scooter’s running out of battery!”

Ye Qing was on the verge of a breakdown. Being with Old Wang Ba, you really had to constantly prepare yourself to be blamed by everyone. That creepy hairstyle was tolerable, at worst, it just made people laugh. The critical point was, he secured an electric scooter, and it turned out to be stolen, which was unacceptable.

And he stole an electric scooter that’s running out of power — Ye Qing didn’t want to speak anymore!

The electric scooter, loaded with two people, slowed down more and more, eventually coming to a complete stop, going on strike. Old Wang Ba twisted the handlebars and said helplessly, ”Hey, we still have over ten miles to go. How are we gonna go back without a vehicle?”

”How about we take a taxi?” Ye Qing said speechlessly.

”How would that work?” Old Wang Ba said. ”The electric scooter is borrowed, we have to return it. Otherwise, wouldn’t we really be thieves? We have to have morals, ethics!”

Now you think about morals and ethics, but when you stole the scooter, where were your morals and ethics?

”Are we supposed to push this scooter back?” Ye Qing said helplessly.

”No need.” Old Wang Ba pointed to the foot pedals under the scooter and said, ”Eighth Master anticipated something like this happening, so I specifically borrowed a dual-use one. Even without power, we can pedal it like a bicycle and ride it back ourselves, can’t we?”

”We pedal this thing back?” Ye Qing looked at the scooter with wide eyes and said, ”This thing is much more of a hassle to pedal than a bicycle. Can you pedal it back?”

”Of course, I can’t pedal it back!” Old Wang Ba chuckled, looked at Ye Qing slyly, and said, ”But you can!”
