Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Big-Mouthed Liu Yang

They had thought of various guesses and plans before, but didn’t expect it to be due to the family’s manure water. If that’s truly the case, then they need to rethink their previous assumptions.

Moreover, this manure water is not like good fortune.

Good fortune is invisible and intangible; it’s just a notion that leaves people uncertain at heart.

But the manure water in their own privy is something tangible and visible, and the benefits it brings are quite evident.

”Hu, what’s wrong?” Erniang noticed Jiang Hu standing still and couldn’t help but ask.

Her family’s Hu was usually very steady and rarely stood there in a daze.

Jiang Hu snapped out of it, ”I’m fine, you carry on; I’ll be right over.”

Then he looked at Liu Yang.

”I’ve been thinking, here’s the plan. I won’t keep this to myself. When you run into the village chief, let him know. After these busy days, we’ll gather some of the older folks in the village and go to the chief’s house for a proper discussion.”

The main thing is, Liu Yang discovered it. Even if he wanted Liu Yang to keep it a secret, it probably wouldn’t work. Even if Liu Yang agreed not to speak up, he might not be able to control his instincts.

Besides, since Liu Yang discovered it, it’s only a matter of time before others find out, right?

Rather than that, it’d be better to be straightforward and just tell everyone, which would make their family seem honest.

As for what happens next, he could take these days to think it over.

Sure enough, upon hearing Jiang Hu’s words, Liu Yang gave Jiang Hu a thumbs-up.

”That’s why I admire Hu the most. Whether it’s teaching everyone to catch sparrows and fish, or hunting game and distributing seeds, if it were someone else, they couldn’t be as straightforward and generous as Hu.”

Jiang Hu shook his head helplessly, ”Alright, alright, no more chatter. Let’s get to work; there’s still a few busy days ahead.”

After speaking, he returned to his own field to work.

As for what Liu Yang said about generosity?

He would like to be stingy, but he can’t. Although Fuan Village appears to be a bunch of motley refugees, it’s actually different.

Many others came from several households together, from the same village, mutually familiar and supporting each other. When they were settled in the village, they chose to be neighbors with people from the same place.

The true outsiders, coming from a single location alone, were only his family.

So, wanting to establish in the village and prevent his wife and children from being marginalized, Jiang Hu had always looked further and done more from the start.

And the message he wanted Liu Yang to pass to the village chief was essentially meaning that.

At that time, from each small group, assign one or two respected elders to discuss. Once an agreement is made among elders, others won’t say much.

In these times, people still have a lot of faith in decisions made by elders.

As for how to discuss things, it can only be addressed at that time.

When Jiang Hu returned, Erniang asked him what was going on. The distance between them was quite far earlier, and they spoke quietly, so Erniang didn’t know what happened.

Jiang Hu glanced at Liu Yang; he was excitedly talking to Wang Xiang, who kept looking over at them.

Jiang Hu thought to himself, luckily he didn’t intend to have Liu Yang keep it a secret from the start.

Then he briefly and simply explained Liu Yang’s discovery to Erniang. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

Erniang was startled, took a while to calm down, ”Then, what shall we do?”

Jiang Hu wanted to pat Erniang’s shoulder to reassure her, but realized his hand was covered in soil.

Come to think of it, the weeds in their field grew faster than others’. Previously, they didn’t understand why, but now they have figured it out.

”Don’t worry, it’s fine. The more frankly we handle this, the less others will dare to say. You and the children just focus on living well, I have a solution.”

Erniang nodded and didn’t say more, just continued working.

Jiang Hu knew Erniang kept this matter in mind, and until it was resolved, Erniang wouldn’t relax.

Actually, Jiang Hu was quite concerned too, unclear what this situation actually was.

But turning around and seeing the lush and appealing crops in the field, suddenly all his worries vanished.

No matter, whatever comes, we deal with it. As long as the crops grow well and the yield is good this year, nothing else is a problem!

Besides, now their family’s crops are the best. To put it bluntly, even if others wanted a bucket of his family’s manure, they’d have to see his mood first!

What should he fear?

The more he thought about it, the more it made sense. He truly didn’t believe those people could drive his family out of Fuan Village and forcibly take over their privy.

The logic of killing the goose to get golden eggs isn’t something only he understands.

Thinking this way, all his worries instantly cleared up, and he even cheerfully whistled a few tunes.

Though Erniang saw, she was curious, but seeing Hu busy working, she didn’t ask.

Hu’s relaxed and delighted expression and mood greatly comforted her.

Weeding, watering the corn, and planting some soybeans, cucumbers, eggplants, and other vegetables took them seven or eight days.

This season, they could also plant rice and sweet potatoes.

But previously, each household only had the sorghum seeds issued by the government and some vegetable seeds.

With no money, even if they had it, they wouldn’t want to spend. Their home required numerous purchases, rice seeds were too expensive, and sweet potatoes weren’t particularly necessary.

Sweet potatoes mainly fed pigs; too much eaten by humans would cause bloating and discomfort. Moreover, this year everyone was unfamiliar with the surroundings, not knowing where to buy piglets. Even if they knew, few could afford them.

So no one planted sweet potatoes this year.

However, households began raising chicks and ducklings, and those lucky enough to catch wild rabbits also learned from Jiang Hu’s family to raise them.

Liu Yang’s discovery quickly spread within a day, and Xiaomi slowly heard bits of it from kids greeting her parents.

To this, Xiaomi just breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, her parents knew, and wouldn’t need to constantly monitor her and Tiedan’s poop!

Regarding her previous worries about too many bugs or such, completely unnecessary!

Because the birds outside were more eagle-eyed than them; they scooped up bugs at sight. Not only did they eat pests on crops, but also dug for them in the field; why was catching sparrows so easy before?

But the weeds did grow quickly, a bit tiring for her parents.

Once field work was done, the time came as Jiang Hu had mentioned to arrange with Liu Yang so he could inform the village chief and prevent others from worrying.

Why tell Liu Yang instead of directly the chief?

Isn’t it because Liu Yang met him most often to converse? Besides, informing Liu Yang equates to informing the whole village anyway.
