Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: So Many Supplies

The fish soup in the evening still had just a little salt, very fishy, not fragrant at all, but everyone ate with great satisfaction.

Today was definitely the best meal they’ve had in years!

Second Aunt, after eating her fill, held the child and breastfed. Having eaten meat all day, her milk increased a bit, and her chest didn’t look as shriveled as before.

Seeing the two children gulping down milk, Second Aunt felt much more relaxed.

Jiang Hu saw this and went over to hug Second Aunt, ”Don’t worry, from now on, Big Brother and I will catch fish and sparrows every day. As the weather gets warmer, there might even be wild chickens and rabbits. You and the children will be fine.”

Second Aunt nodded with a smile, then showed Jiang Hu, ”Look at Tie Dan, he used to feed without much enthusiasm, but he’s much stronger than a few days ago.”

Indeed, he wasn’t feeding with much strength before, but now he was sucking heartily.

Jiang Hu said, ”Yeah, it’s definitely because you ate well; the child’s milk is also better. Second Aunt, drink another bowl of soup later. I’ll make another basket and go fetch it early tomorrow.”

Seeing Tie Dan feeding so heartily, Second Aunt eventually could not refuse.

Xiaomi lay next to them, listening to her parents talk, smacking her lips. Today’s milk indeed tasted better than before. Truly, eating meat is more powerful; just Spiritual Spring water and milk powder are not enough.

Seeing her parents still sweet-talking, Xiaomi quickly sneaked into the space. She hadn’t forgotten that she had secretly taken a small crucian carp earlier.

Fortunately, her father didn’t count exactly how many there were, and there were a lot of small fish anyway, so one missing wasn’t noticed.

Upon entering the space, Xiaomi went straight to the Spiritual Spring. She had lured the small fish there using the Spiritual Spring and placed it at the spring eyes.

”Great, it’s still here.” Seeing the small crucian carp swimming around the spring eyes, Xiaomi breathed a sigh of relief but soon worried. ”Only one, it can’t reproduce. I need to find a chance to get another one in.”

And it needed luck to get a male and a female. Unfortunately, she didn’t know how to tell them apart.

After watching at the spring eyes for a while, Xiaomi went out; she still had to categorize all the resources in the space.

Passing by the vegetable garden, Xiaomi glanced a few more times. There wasn’t any sign of growth yet, but after all, it was just this morning that she planted the cabbage seeds, so they wouldn’t sprout so soon.

Facing the mountain of supplies, Xiaomi steadied herself, not rushing into work. Instead, she first took a stroll around the space.

Besides the added courtyard and land, there were some other changes too. The space itself had expanded a little. The originally black, empty edges turned into a vast white mist, enveloping the entire space, in all directions.

The first time Xiaomi entered this space, she fell from some unknown height above.

With curiosity, Xiaomi entered the white mist, only to quickly emerge from another direction. Not accepting it, she tried several times again; no matter which direction she entered, she emerged from the other side.

Until Xiaomi, exasperated, exclaimed, ”Damn it! Wasting my time!”

Forget it, let’s not care for now, just organize the things.

Since the space is so large, sorting out this mountain of supplies would also help clarify what there actually is.

Various milk powders had been sorted out a lot earlier, but by no means all, since she’s been scrambling in this post-apocalyptic world for over a year, the supplies she’s collected could cause two base bosses to fight over, indicating how valuable they are.

Still, whenever Xiaomi thought of this, she couldn’t help but chuckle foolishly. No matter how those two bosses turn out, these things are still hers! All hers!

”Seeds? Just pile them together; they’ll gradually be sorted into the courtyard storeroom later.”

”Prepared food? What a pity it can’t be taken out directly. Never mind, just place them aside for now, to consume slowly when I’m older.”

”Wow, there’s so much raw meat? And still rock solid frozen. Oh right, I remembered there was a cold storage collected. What a pity, so much meat, yet I can’t take it out directly!”

The more she thought about it, the more painful it felt!

Beef, lamb, pork, chicken, duck, goose, fish, and all kinds of seafood and freshwater fish, chicken gizzards, duck gizzards, pork trotters.

No rush, no rush. Xiaomi patted her chest, knowing that once she grows up a bit, she’ll definitely find a chance to take these out and eat them!

”Wow, so many eggs, chicken, duck, goose, hmm? This seems like pigeon eggs? Wonder if they’re fertilized, even if they’re meat pigeons, raising them should be more profitable than chickens, ducks, and geese.”

She packed various eggs into boxes and set them aside; surely there are more inside.

”I wonder what the chickens here look like. I remember rural native chickens seem rather lean. If meaty chickens can be hatched, large and fat, they’d certainly be popular.”

In these times, meat is definitely more favored than taste; no matter how fragrant a black-bone chicken, in the eyes of the common people, it’s not as welcome as a large, heavy rooster. At least you get more pounds of meat to eat!

After working for one or two hours, during which she absorbed spiritual energy several times, she had only sorted out less than one percent of the resources.

However, what made Xiaomi happiest was finding some basic medications, cold medicine, fever reducer, antibiotics, and the like.

Today her father and older brother went out in the rain, and when they came back, her father’s lips were almost purple from the cold.

Big Brother was lighting a fire in the kitchen, she hadn’t seen, but it probably wasn’t much better.

Xiaomi took a packet of cold medicine granules and mixed it with Spiritual Spring water, planning not to give them milk powder tonight but medicine instead.

Because people of this world surely haven’t taken cold medicine granules before, their resistance to the medicine must be very low, so Xiaomi only mixed one packet, letting her father drink most of it, with a third left for her older brother.

Every day, Xiaomi would use Spiritual Spring water to wash the milk powder bowls clean, then pour the washing water into the outside vegetable garden.

For this, several basins were placed beside the Spiritual Spring, for washing dishes, holding water, and even a dish rack.

Luckily, Xiaomi could use her consciousness to control these things in the space, otherwise, it would have been a hassle.

Having finished these tasks and prepared enough milk powder, Xiaomi estimated the time, thinking it was about right, and quickly exited the space.

Sure enough, just as she opened her eyes, she saw Second Aunt leaning over, about to caress her, and when she saw Xiaomi open her eyes, Second Aunt immediately smiled, ”Xiaomi awake?”

Yes, mom. Xiaomi immediately smiled sweetly. I just saw many peacock eggs! When the time comes, I’ll hatch a peacock to display its feathers for you to see!

Unfortunately, Second Aunt didn’t catch on, ”Are you hungry, Xiaomi? Daddy went to set the cage to catch fish again. Mommy wants to wait for him. How about Second Sister plays with you?”

How can you catch fish in the rain!

Xiaomi was infuriated, but as Second Aunt felt her tummy, she thought she wasn’t hungry yet, so she continued to weave grass mats while waiting for Jiang Hu’s return.

Second Sister and Big Brother both went back to their room. Big Brother was helping to weave grass mats whereas Second Sister quickly came to Xiaomi and Tie Dan.

”Third Sister, be good. Sister will play with you, but don’t wake little brother. He’s still sleeping.”
