Strongest Lord by Opening Blind Boxes

Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Resting Chamber and Deepwater Pier

”Holy crap! Energy: 0%. Please recharge as soon as possible!”

Wang Yi was stunned.

’This advanced tech is only half-baked!’

’Turning ancient Battle Armor into a high-tech Mecha? That’s badass as hell!’

’But what the hell is this ”recharge” bullshit?’

’This place is barely out of the Stone Age. What the hell am I supposed to charge it with?’

’Couldn’t they have just given it an infinite power source?’

”System, you’re a real piece of work! Aren’t you just trying to screw me over? I could at least wear the original heavy armor, but now this powerless Prototype No. 1 is just a decoration! Wait, no, I couldn’t wear the original armor either. It weighs 120 kilograms!”

Wang Yi complained out loud, feeling his high hopes crashing down into bitter disappointment.

But even though he couldn’t pilot Prototype No. 1 into battle, Wang Yi still wanted to get inside the cockpit and experience it.

Prototype No. 1 had solar panels to power the most basic functions of the Main Control Light Computer, such as opening and closing the cockpit. Its electronic eyes automatically scanned and confirmed Wang Yi’s identity as the pilot. Then, the three layers of alloy decking on the Mecha’s chest opened sequentially, revealing a cockpit with what looked like a luxury gaming chair.

Wang Yi sat down. He had to admit, it was comfortable, and the view was excellent. After the cockpit closed, all the alloy decks instantly became transparent, providing a clear view of the outside.

The air inside the cockpit was filtered, fresh, and clean, and the temperature was perfect. Wang Yi soon discovered the pilot’s seat had its own power system and could transform. He could sit or lie down, comfortable in any position!

It even had a waste-disposal and cleaning unit, meaning he could use the toilet inside!

”This is some real high-tech stuff. Damn it, I’m not living in the Eggshell Houses anymore. I’ll just live in the cockpit from now on. It’s safe and comfortable!”

That night, Wang Yi really did sleep in Prototype No. 1’s cockpit. He slept soundly and had an excellent experience.

「The next day」

Wang Yi roused the entire village first thing in the morning. He wanted to move Prototype No. 1 onto the Floating Mountain.

’I can’t pilot Prototype No. 1 into battle, but I can use it as a cozy bedroom and a safe house, right? With this, what’s stopping me from attacking the Black Mountain Stronghold?’

Wang Yi muttered to himself.

But under Wang Yi’s command, the villagers first began to modify the Floating Mountain.

The Floating Mountain could be considered the skin of the Heart of Chaos. Its terrain could be slightly modified, but major alterations would be seen as an attack on the Heart of Chaos, causing its Durability to decrease.

Wang Yi could use Chaos Energy to repair the Floating Mountain, but doing so would erase all traces of modification, restoring the mountain to its original state.

To ensure Prototype No. 1 could sit securely on the Floating Mountain, terraforming was a must.

The villagers couldn’t do much of this terraforming work themselves. The main force was Gegeda and the three Rock Giant Scorpions.

Gegeda was incredibly strong, its claws capable of crushing rock. The three Rock Giant Scorpions, on the other hand, treated rock and gravel as food and began to munch away directly at the summit of the Floating Mountain.

After about two hours of work, the summit of the Floating Mountain had been dug out to resemble a bunker. The top was flat, surrounded by a half-meter-high stone parapet, and the winding mountain path was also slightly repaired. Its Durability had only dropped by 65 points—no big deal!

Wang Yi felt that was good enough and directed everyone to haul Prototype No. 1.

This job also fell mainly to Gegeda. It became a transport aircraft, flapping its wings and taking flight with the 7.68-ton Prototype No. 1 in its talons. It dropped it a total of five times, knocking another three points off the Floating Mountain’s Durability, before finally succeeding in delivering Prototype No. 1 to the summit.

Prototype No. 1 was covered in dust from being dropped, looking as if it had just finished a battle. Its standing posture had become a sitting one, but at least it was sitting securely.

Next, Wang Yi called for Man Datou and the crew from the Giant Crab Sandfield to go catch Hardworking Turtles!

Right now, Wang Yi had no need for river sand, so stopping the sandfield’s work for a few days wasn’t a problem. However, the herb gathering at the Old Mountain Stream, the bamboo pole collection in the Long-Sectioned Bamboo forest, the clearing of the General’s Tomb, the fishing at Huanghua Fishery, and the production of Fire Dragon Oil could not be stopped.

After all, Wang Yi was now in a state of war preparation, waiting for the right time to attack the Black Mountain Stronghold.

But even with so many people and tools like ropes, catching the Hardworking Turtles was still very difficult. By evening, Wang Yi had only managed to bring one back.

That Hardworking Turtle had been beaten to near death. Less than two hours after being thrown into the Beast Cage, it was successfully tamed.

The successfully tamed Hardworking Turtle seemed dazed. After crawling out of the Beast Cage, it didn’t move much, just lying on the ground in a stupor.

Someone climbed onto its back, but it didn’t care. Its temperament could be described as extremely docile.

Wang Yi checked the taming log.

”Consumed 233 Chaos Energy. Total time: one hour and forty-five minutes. Hardworking Turtle successfully tamed, becoming a loyal Territory Servant Beast. Can understand simple commands.

The Hardworking Turtle is an omnivore, preferring to eat fish, shrimp, and aquatic plants. It typically only needs to eat once a week, does not excrete waste, and rarely sleeps. It is not afraid of severe cold and does not need to hibernate. It is amphibious, with a gentle temperament and astonishing stamina. It can carry heavy loads over long distances, with a suitable load range of 0.5 to 1.2 times its body weight. Its land speed is slow, about five kilometers per hour, but its maximum speed in water can reach 22 kilometers per hour. It is capable of diving.

Current tamed subject is an adult Hardworking Turtle, weight 1,650 kg, possessing a Solid carapace. Consumed 15 Chaos Energy to heal its injuries, making it ready for duty...

Note: Hardworking Turtles with a gentle temperament are easier to tame.”

Wang Yi nodded. ’As expected of a Hardworking Turtle,’ he thought. ’It only eats once a week, and like a Pixiu, it never poops. It doesn’t sleep, and it’s gentle-natured. This is the dream laborer.’

’This Hardworking Turtle can travel by water. Going to Kaiyuan County will be much more convenient in the future. The Hardworking Turtles can be mounts in the water and transport goods!’

Wang Yi imagined the scene of his people riding Hardworking Turtles down rivers and into the sea, transporting goods for trade, and he felt a surge of anticipation.

「The next day」

Wang Yi took his people out to catch Hardworking Turtles again. In one morning, they caught two. On their way back at noon, he also found a green Treasure Chest.

Opening the Treasure Chest, Wang Yi only obtained a white [Construction Drawings for a Deepwater Pier].

[Construction Drawings for a Deepwater Pier: White-rarity item. Upon use, constructs an ordinary deepwater pier on the bank of a body of water. Requires 50 wood and 50 stone. This Deepwater Pier has no special functions. Upon completion, grants a 1,000-meter berthing area and a 30,000-square-meter freight yard.]

”An ordinary building, huh? Still, it’s better than nothing!”

Wang Yi had plenty of resources now. The Production Team’s earlier work hadn’t been for nothing; they had accumulated a lot of stone and wood, which was perfect for use now.

Soon, on the north bank of the Jade River, just west of the Giant Crab Sandfield, Wang Yi unfurled the [Construction Drawings for a Deepwater Pier]. Stone and wood were automatically consumed from the Chaos Warehouse as a golden light spread across the ground. A mysterious force rapidly reshaped the river channel, forming a pier...

About a minute later, the [Deepwater Pier] was successfully constructed.

The pier project had carved out a half-moon-shaped inner harbor on the north bank of the Jade River. The thousand-meter berthing area stretched along the harbor shore. Ten Muzhai Bridges were built, and facilities like breakwaters, revetments, and anchorages were all complete. Behind the pier, the ground was leveled and paved with stone slabs. The thirty-thousand-square-meter freight yard was currently empty.

In the modern world, this pier wouldn’t be considered large, but in this backwater region, it seemed extremely high-end and out of place.

It was like building an international airport in a small mountain village.

’It’s pretty nice, but I doubt any ships will be docking here. In the future, I could keep the tamed Hardworking Turtles at this pier. It’s close to the sandfield, so they can help transport sand... Once the territory expands to cover this area, I’ll have Gegeda build some Eggshell Houses nearby to use as warehouses...’

As Wang Yi mulled this over, he felt that with this pier, forming his own trade caravan might not be impossible after all.
