The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 537: Chapter 537- Delicia’s Past

”A cloud?”

Everyone looked at the projection with confusion. Up until now, they had seen various kinds of phenomena and unknown beasts, but it did not cause them as much confusion as the scene before them.

Not only did this mysterious person summon the projection of a bizarre cloud instead of a beast, it was much too small in size for a Sacred tier beast.

”Luminweasel huh, that’s surprising!” Reinhardt spoke, dispersing everyone’s doubt.

The others couldn’t see it because of the extremely dense cloak emitted by the beast. However, how could it stop the eyes of the Divine Paladin? Using the [Eyes of Divine Clarity], he pierced through the cloak to peer at the beast inside.

CHIK... CHIK... The thing inside made some noise and showed its slight appearance.

A dark, elongated, slender body, with beady eyes that were covered in a haze of dark green light. Although the thing was covered in an ominous atmosphere, the figure of the beast itself evoked an inborn sense of adoration.

A weasel?

The beast that appeared was completely different from what they expected.

A few snickers escaped from the new recruits when Reinhardt spoke again.

”Divine Beast: Luminweasel. Element- Chaos, Class- Slayer, Sacred Tier.”

The moment those words fell, all the snickers died instantly.

”Extreme speed and exceptional stealth. The claws of this beast are dreadfully sharp and coated with a lethal poison. Can easily pass through any barriers and kill the target before they even realize its presence. On a battlefield, this little one kills more than blades.”

A perfect summon for an assassin. Reinhardt smiled and nodded his head.

After that, he dismissed the knights. Those who had duties today left to complete their task, while those who had a day off remained back in the training grounds.

.

.

”Kevin, over here.”

Gwen called out.

A fifteen year-old boy with an average face made his way over to where his comrades were gathered.

”Are you finished with your training?”

At that question from Gwen, the boy nodded his head.

”The commander went out of his way to create a different training regime for me. I don’t want to slack off and let him down.”

Everyone nodded, understanding his emotions.

”Still, I’m quite jealous. For Commander to personally draw a different training plan for you, he must have high hopes for you.” Vangeance patted Kevin on the shoulder.

”I’m the one who should be jealous. I heard that you guys summoned divine beasts today?”

As it turns out, Kevin was not present during the morning sessions. He was off in the woods, perfecting the abilities and training in the way Reinhardt came up for him.

”Rather than summon, it was more like we were shown the kind of beast we had affinity with.”

”Oh! Senior Vangeance, can you tell me what kind of beast you had affinity with?” Kevin looked at the other party with eyes shining with curiosity and interest.

Unable to turn the request of his junior down, Vangeance scratched his cheek and revealed the beast he had affinity with. After Silvia, Vangeance stepped into the formation.

Knowing his talent, he was content if he was able to summon even a mid tier beast. However, to his surprise, the moment he stepped in, the array shone with a brilliant light before projecting a huge shaggy white bear that looked like it was made of living permafrost.

It had a comical size, a huge maw and the aura it gave was quite clumsy when compared to powerful summons.

That is, until the boss spoke.

”Divine Beast: Burma or also known as the Glacial Juggernaut. Element- Ice, Guardian Class, Sacred Tier.”

At those words, Kevin widened his excitement. Although he wasn’t there, he could practically imagine the powerful looking beast.

Vangeance laughed; his bragging was getting out of hand, so Silvia had to step in to rein him down.

”Hmph, you should also tell him what the Commander said after that.”

The former’s face twitched, and he was forced to shut up.

After looking at the projection of Burma, Reinhardt glanced at Vangeance and smiled. ”It will be quite a challenge for you to forge a contract with it. Among all the divine beasts, the Burma is the laziest. It likes to sleep all day and does not listen to orders.”

Hearing those words, the eyes of the members of the Temple of Light turned strange.

The clumsiness of the beast was quite similar to that of the summoner. No wonder their commander told them it was all about affinity.

After Vangeance, Kevin questioned the others.

Rolan summoned a projection of a high tier Shieldtops, a huge dinosaur with a shield-like head. In terms of defense, it was like a moving fortress.

For Gwen, it was a...

”What?! A Whale?”

Kevin couldn’t help but shout out loud when he heard the beast Gwen summoned.

When it was Gwen’s turn, the projection that appeared was a water-formed drake whose body was entirely made of water with waves rising and falling with its every breath.

”Divine Beast: Tide Ruler. Element- Water. Royal Class, Sacred Tier. Its strength evolves with you. The more you understand yourself, the more terrifying it becomes.” Reinhardt explained.

GULP... Kevin gulped; he could only imagine the appearance of such a powerful beast.

”Haha, Gwen I knew you would summon the most powerful divine beast.”

The boy laughed. Although he was jealous that he could not summon because he lacked any Mana, he had come to terms with it. He was happy from the bottom of his heart for his friends.

”Well, Commander said the higher the tier of the beast, the more difficult it is to forge a contract with it. So it’s not yet confirmed that I can summon it.” Gwen looked a little nervous.

”You are going to be a knight stronger than your sister, right? If it’s you, I know you can do it. Have more confidence in yourself.”

That’s right, she still had her goal of surpassing her sister. The summoning skill was the boost in power that she wanted. There was no time to wallow in fear, she needed to get stronger and kill the demon who killed her sister.

A Gorgon Serpent, a Burma, a Shieldtop, and a Tide Ruler, all of these summons were powerful in their own.

That said, there was still one more summon he had yet to ask about.

”Where is Big Sister? I don’t see her around?” Kevin casually questioned.

”She has duty today and left after the morning training.”

”I see, then what about the beast she summoned?”

”That...”

Silvia thought for a while, recalling the scene.

”The beast she summoned was a low tier.”

Given the performance of everyone in Silvia’s squad, they all thought that Delicia too would summon an epic beast.

However, the moment she stepped into the array, the light that came out was equivalent to the performance of the new recruits. That is to say, the summon was a low tier beast.

A floating translucent sphere with a tiny flickering heart, surrounded by rotating silver rings, suspended above Delicia.

Looking at the thing that was as peculiar as the summon from Karina, everyone looked askance.

It was then their commander spoke.

”Divine Beast: Void Pupa, Element Holy, Class Unknown, Low Tier.”

That was the only explanation he gave, and moved on to the other members.

Delicia obediently stepped out of the array and stood back in line. Her attitude seemed like she was not fazed. However, those close to her knew that she was trying to act brave.

”A low tier summon? I can’t believe it.”

Kevin was shocked. It was only natural that they were unable to believe it after all, they all knew how talented and hardworking Delicia was.

While all of her comrades summoned beasts above high tier while she herself got low tier, it must have shattered her heart.

”I think I’ll go and talk to her.” Gwen spoke, thinking something over in her mind.

”Don’t.”

Just when she was about to head out, Silvia stopped her.

”I think Commander didn’t give us all the information. I don’t think the Void Pupa is an ordinary summon. There must be a reason why he gave the most basic of information and dismissed it there.”

Everyone placed their attention on her.

”Why would boss do that?” Vangeance questioned.

”I cannot say for sure, but it has something to do with her powers. During training or battles, I have noticed that she brings out power that is far greater than her level. It seems like she is subconsciously repressing her power. Perhaps it is related to that. Since Commander is doing something about it, it is not our place to interfere. Leave it to him.”

.

Outer District, Residential Area.

In front of one of the big houses that was relatively famous around this area, Delicia opened the door and walked in.

”I’m home.”

That’s right, the reason the house was famous because it belonged to a knight of the Order of the Temple of Light.
