Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest

Bizarre wouldn’t be enough of a word to describe the Realm of Dreams and Nightmares.

According to everything I’ve learned, this place is supposed to be a condensation of all sentient beings’ dreams and nightmares, given form and shape in a conceptual form.

Indeed, this Realm is more “conceptual” than our own world, the mortal plane or whatever it is called, perhaps the “physical plane” would be better I guess?

Yes, anyway, Olivia had told me that we needed to be careful, a conceptual world like the Realm of Dreams and Nightmares is dangerous, we are not meant to remain here for too long.

Why? Well, that’s because we are bound to the physical plane and we are physical beings, slowly, if we remain here, we are corroded and our souls could slowly melt away, while our bodies disappear.

Eventually, we can mutate into Nightmareborns once this Realm corrupts our minds and makes us fall into insanity… Or we might be lucky enough and become Dream Spirits, but our bodies, appearances, and minds would be changed to the point we wouldn’t be the same.

We become inhabitants of this plane, forever. And it becomes impossible to return home, in the end, we would even forget who we were, and where we came from.

I don’t even know if Frogginton is the same, that talking frog that was very gentlemanly… I do wonder how he’s doing though.

Ah right, this is a more “expansive” view of this endless horizon. When I went to the Dream Realm the first time, I ended up landing in a large forest, but this time we were rather far away from that place.

I think that forest was what surrounded the Palace of this Realm’s Rulers…

“This place’s freaky…” Anna said. “Look at that! What is that?!”

She pointed into the distance, there was a giant island made of colorful building block toys floating in the middle of nowhere, with toy people wandering on top of it.

It was a gigantic island, and yet these people noticed us, they even looked at us with their empty, plastic eyes, and waved their hands at us.

As if calling us to go there…

“They’re waving their hands at us, should we go visit them?” Gabriel wondered. “Looks like a fun place, look at all the colorful stuff!”

“I would recommend not to step out of the vessel, young Gabriel,” Morpheus said. “Whoever you find in this Realm, not everyone will be a good person. Some of these beings want to eat your souls, others want you to stay forever and turn into one of them… It’s not common, but it does happen sometimes, when children or people end up falling into this Realm, and they end up turning into those beings, or others… Those toys, I wouldn’t doubt that the majority are children that were twisted into toys after living with them for too long.”

“E-Eh?!” I asked, shocked. “Wait that’s real? Ugh… sounds awful though!”

“Yeah there’s nothing much we can do about that, just accidents that happen…” Sighed Morpheus.

“So where should we go?” Mark asked. “We came here only seeking a way to Avalon, staying here for too long might not be good for our minds or bodies… I’m already feeling weird.”

“Yeah, we need a link to Avalon…” Said Katherine. “I could easily go back there once my time limit runs out, but I cannot bring anybody with me…”

“Our desire and our destination have already been set, and the Dream Realm always shows the path for those that have a clear goal and don’t let themselves become lost in endless dreams and fantasies,” Morpheus said. “Look ahead, we’re moving to the north, in there, there’s a floating island with a great forest. It is one of the many areas where the Dreams of the Fairies, Fae, and Spirits of Avalon gather, materializing such a place.”

“I can’t see anything from here…” Said Katherine.

“So there’s such a place, huh?” Rita wondered. “How do we get there though?”

“We have to cross the horizon and move forward,” Morpheus explained. “It shouldn’t take too long. Once we get to that place, we should simply find an Active Dream Cloud where a Fae is sleeping and dreaming, with Katherine’s connection to Avalon, it should be possible to create a portal and enter Avalon through this Fae’s dreams.”

“Oh, that sounds relatively simple, I think?” I asked. “Let’s move forward, then, Morpheus.

“Yes, master.”

FLUOSH!

The cloud began overflowing with my Mana, as it started flying rapidly across the endless skies of the Dream Realm, we saw all kind of sights on our way there, from giant clouds the shape of terrifying specters, islands made of pastries and candies with candy people inside, giant icy castles floating in the middle of nowhere, and weird, smiling humanoid things made of pink slime, which smiled at us and waved their hands, calling for us to join them, no thanks.

As we glanced around without being disturbed for an hour, we decided to relax for the most part, my friends rested over the fluffy clouds, a couple of them fell asleep, especially Rita and Lily, and Gabriel too.

My daughter and her friends practiced magic spells and their new weapon abilities, the interior was spacious enough to do some small sparring, though I created a cube-shaped barrier so they could practice without worries.

And with Mark, we sat down and glanced through the “windows” while talking. We were told not to bring any technology here and to not eat either, so we had to just hold on and be with each other.

“Despite how strange everything is, it is a wondrous sight…” Mark smiled, as he glanced into the distance. “Don’t you think so? I guess this might be a once in a lifetime thing…”

“Yeah… It’s beautiful, despite how chaotic it can be, it is as if we ended landing into a world of fantasy, even more than Arcadia, haha…” I giggled a bit. “Despite what Morpheus said, I wish I could visit all these places… a pity they’re dangerous.”

“I agree…” Mark nodded. “I guess this realm is like a beautiful thing, that you’re better off never touching… Makes me wonder how crazy are those sorcerers that want to get to this place, wouldn’t they get lost instantly?”
