Chapter 1921: Chapter 1913: Within the Tower

The Neo Zenith Tower was the Original Dawn Palace forged with mystic-grade materials, reinforced by formations, serving as the center of a great array, and acting as the Gateway Door to the Blank Dominion. It was slightly beyond the edge of the Refining Skies Galactic Zone’s territorial border, originally establishing itself as a forbidden piece of regional territory.

The palatial structure possessed the primary colors of silver, grey, black, and white with secondary colors of the Alchemic Dao, it served as a beacon of the Neo-Dawn Alchemical Lineage, and from its size and distinct emission of clear radiance, was a prominent existence amongst the starry skies.

At the moment, the palatial structure was coated in Utmost Purity Mist safeguarding the palace by fueling a hollow Alchemical Phenomenon of Worldly Awakening. Normally, this safeguarding was useless and powerless, but it was strictly against the established rules of the Utmost Purity Galaxy’s Zeniths to destroy either Utmost Purity Mist or an Alchemical Phenomenon. It was an indirect protection charm for alchemists to use, serving as a call for help and amnesty from death.

Normally, the Zeniths’ respective halls would sense these occasions for a call for assistance and send enforcers to investigate. If found in violation of these rules, especially killing an Alchemic Soul alchemist or one that has achieved recognition by the Alchemic Dao, then a litany of issues would fall upon your head, even a death sentence.

Wei Wuyin had once abused this particular rule against Supreme Sages to buy Su Yi time to escape to the Incinerated Dominion, showcasing that even Zeniths abided by their own rule. This was no different as all who had arrived, Supreme Sage or not, were halted by this flimsy defense. However, usually these manifestations could only persist for a limited time, requiring either alchemical energy or Utmost Purity Mist.

This particular manifestation was fueled by the latter. As such, the time it could stay in existence was limited. Extremely limited.

Normally…

Two months and half into Wei Wuyin’s departure to the ancient ruins, various forces descended upon the Neo Zenith Tower with star-crushing momentum, only to be stopped at the door by the Worldly Awakening of a True Saint. They had been here, standing at the door, for two whole weeks. Waiting. Just waiting.

This Alchemical Phenomenon wasn’t always an effective shield as the Utmost Purity Galaxy’s rules and laws had very strange exceptions. For example, if a stronger authority within the Alchemic Dao acted, it wasn’t too hard to shatter that shield and directly act against the caster. However, that required a stronger Alchemic Stars, the Alchemic Dao’s unique Intent.

This Worldly Awakening of a True Saint had the strength of an Alchemic Stars of Transcendent Purity. Unless multiple alchemists possessing this act or an alchemist possessing the next stage, the Alchemic Stars of Pure Enlightenment, it was nearly impossible to disperse. The dilemma was tragic for those knocking at the door.

They either needed multiple Exalted Worldly Saint Alchemists, which were peak-tier Worldly Saint Alchemists, or greater such as Heavenly Saint Alchemists to disperse or an extraordinary Heavenly Saint Alchemist.

After seeing that the hollow phenomenon wasn’t dissipating due to lack of fuel after two whole weeks, how could they not resort to this exact tactic?

Within the Neo Zenith Tower’s Hall of Association, a room dedicated to gathering and merrymaking with a gracious display of artistic decor and beautiful scenery, nearly two dozen figures sat, stood, or paced in the spacious room with varying emotions ranging from anxiety, cool-headed calm, or annoyance.

Among them was Su Mei, who was calmly seated in her chair in her full battle armor, reading a scroll as if it was part of her daily, casual reading. She was completely at ease.

Cao Cuifen was seated on a wide comfy chair. Standing diligently behind her was Zhou Yiyin and Grey Rose, solemn and on alert. As her maidservants, they tripled as her teachers and Dharma Protectors. Cao Cuifen was completely relaxed as well, not injured in the slightest despite the attempt on her life not so long ago. She was drinking green tea served in a jadeite cup that was at the Mystic-World grade in quality.

Among those in the room who were calm, they were Su Mei, Yue Songli, who was playing with Dakarai, Qing Qiumu who was talking with Wei Si and Liu Suyin, the both of which were engaged in avid conversation, especially Liu Suyin who was quite animated as she gestured while telling some folktales of the Endless Void Realm. Her indifference had long since melted away by Wei Wuyin’s presence, granting her a color of life and a rich personality.

None of them seemed to feel the slightest sense of urgency of the situation. And this wasn’t brought about by ignorance, but by their keen awareness that Su Mei was Wei Wuyin’s right-hand, and if she was calm enough to read, then everything was well within manageable levels. Moreover, Qing Qiumu and Wei Si understood Wei Wuyin’s personality the best. He was the type to plan contingency after contingency and contingencies for those contingencies and even those contingencies had layered contingencies.

Since they were still on safety plan number one, staying within the Neo Zenith Tower, there was no need to panic. In fact, they hadn’t been attacked at all. The alchemical phenomenon outside was keeping all the sharks away, not even resorting to the defensive methods of the tower.

Those who weren’t calm were newer: Xi Ning, Shang Wanqing, White Sky, Mei Xiaoyang, Sage River Oasis, Qi Yinying, Sage Nepit, and Sage Nepri.

As for those annoyed, they were the supposedly injured Alchemic Knight Pakhet, who looked surprisingly healthy and hearty for someone who was blasted by a Resonant Qi Talisman, and Su Yi! The reincarnated swordsman was surprisingly here as well!

He was garbed in all white, sword laid flat on his thigh with his eyes closed, sitting cross-legged and closed-eyed in meditation. By his side was Yue Baoyue and Chu Xing, the latter was equally as frustrated by all of this. She was a Supreme Sage, but her injuries were extensive and severe. She had pushed herself to the near brink in the last battle, and because of this she could barely qualify as a Supreme Sage-level combatant.

However, before she could recover, Hong Xuannu, that woman that brazenly threw her life away for them without hesitation, had vanished without reason. Both Su Yi and herself were here to obtain answers, finding that Yue Baoyue was already here. It was expected. Wei Wuyin had showcased an unusual interest in her life, clearly having a strong desire or obsession for her. If enemies were seeking to harm him or take him out of seclusion, she would have been the next target after Xi Ning, not Cao Cuifen, but she was already here.

As for entering the Neo Zenith Tower, entering wasn’t difficult at all, much to her surprise. After Yue Baoyue was contacted for a status update, that black haired woman named Su Mei had conjured a Void Portal and brought them in directly. She had no vigilance against them. Or maybe she didn’t see them as a threat.

What confused her, however, was that those outside were obviously sealing access to the Void and three dimensions of space to prevent another escape event like Su Yi. How did this woman create a Void Portal so far out despite their vast distance? Was it possible that those sealing arts, capturing spells, and tracking incantations were unable to hinder any creation of those Void Portals? How ridiculous would that be? Maybe those outside just allowed them through, wanting to get all of them at once.

As for Yue Baoyue, she wasn’t exactly calm as she sat next to Su Yi, observing everyone’s reaction. She was more curious than anything with a tinge of anxiety. Where was Wei Wuyin? Was he safe? Her thoughts were filled with concern for that newly ascended Heavenly Saint Alchemist.

Eventually, Su Yi’s eyes opened.

Su Mei’s reading speed slowed down. She looked over, sensing his gaze upon her.

“They’ve gathered sufficient Alchemists who possess Alchemic Stars of Transcendent Purity,” Su Yi stated calmly. These words ignited those who were anxious into a frenzy, especially Nepit. She hadn’t expected their journey following Wei Wuyin would have them potentially against Supreme Sages. Her heart began to race. Subconsciously, she looked to her husband for mental support.

Nepri looked her way and smiled reassuringly, whispering: “We’ll be okay.” These words appeared to have some effect, calming her down.

However, Mei Xiaoyang was not his wife nor was her cultivation great. “They’re going to dispel the alchemical phenomenon and breach the tower! Will the defensive formations of the tower hold?” She asked, trying to calm her voice that was rife with fear.

White Sky was even more panicked, and her Dao Protector that stood beside her—Overlord Tigerheart—offered no comfort. She was deathly scared. After all, she was a high-level subscriber to many information networks, so she was fully aware of the systematic dismantling of the Neo-Dawn Alchemic Saint’s good name and business ventures.

“Didn’t you say that Heaven-Saint Neo-Dawn has established a Mythical Contract with the Zeniths? Why aren’t they appearing now to defuse the situation?” White Sky asked urgently. Earlier, Cao Cuifen had calmed them down by revealing that the Neo Zenith Tower had a Mythical Contract in place, so it wasn’t easy to remove it from the galaxy.

But she wasn’t clear on the exact details. Wei Wuyin had only given footnotes. She was more focused on her own cultivation path. Luo Ning would know far more than her.

“The right to establish a tower within the Utmost Purity Galaxy that will be subjected to various protections and authorities to buy, sell, and exchange resources for 250,000 years, and unable to be removed during this period under any condition by the current Zeniths or the next two future Zenith generations, while remaining independent and under the direct control of the Neo-Dawn Ascendant Emperor,” Su Mei quoted what Wei Wuyin had described.

Her words both shocked and relaxed a few, but Su Yi frowned immediately. “There’s no general protection clause in the Mythical Contract?”

“What?!” Nepit shrieked. She was horrified.

However, Nepri glanced at her, realizing that she was reacting out of fear, not understanding the significance of Su Yi’s words. He heaved an internal sigh. Clarifying for his beloved wife, “General Protection? You mean the protection of the tower in case of an incident such as sudden death or against foreign enemies?”

Su Mei glanced at Nepit, not exposing her frustration. “None of the Zenith Towers have general protection clauses against foreign enemies or other forces. It’s why their interests are so self-involved and they didn’t have to help during the Mythical Tribulation of the Zenith Refinement Tower. Not even the Seven Tower of the Heavenly Sages had such an unreasonable clause forcing support.”

Su Yi thought for a moment and nodded in acceptance. He had outright slain two Heavenly Saint Alchemists and the five other Heavenly Saint Alchemists, who were also Supreme Sages, maintained a strictly observant role. Even after their death, they were only obligated to host a bounty for its culprit. It was cold-hearted but practical.

You definitely didn’t want to die alongside someone who offended a Cardinal Sage, for example, because of a Mythical Contract.

“Not even for a short period?” But Chu Xing questioned. Wei Wuyin hadn’t even made a temporary general protection clause during foundation establishment.

“Unneeded,” Su Mei flatly stated.

“How can you say that? There are enemies knocking at our door! Where is he? Why isn’t he here?” Nepit asked, her interrogation was causing Su Mei’s expression to gradually become stern. A glimmer of killing intent flashed within her eyes.

Nepri hurriedly pulled Nepit behind himself, standing before Su Mei and her, profusely apologizing via spiritual transmission with extreme speed, trying to keep his wife alive. With sweaty palms, he clenched her hand hard. Only after that glimmer of killing intent faded did he glare at Nepri.

Su Mei slowly said, “He is your Emperor. Address him with respect.” This was her first and final warning.

Nepit seemed ignorant as she winced in pain from Nepri’s harsh grip. She wanted to speak but her voice was sealed by his Spiritual Strength. Due to her reluctance to dual cultivate, Nepri’s strength had already surpassed her by a large margin. He was getting increasingly efficient at sealing her without harm. Unable to speak, she was effectively unable to say anything more.

Su Yi softly sighed. He didn’t care about the chaos in Wei Wuyin’s subordinates. “They will break the phenomenon,” he stated matter-of-factly.

“Let them,” Su Mei replied without any urgency. “If they can.”

Su Yi didn’t argue. He only said, “Since Heaven-Saint Neo-Dawn has assisted me, I will lend him my sword once.”

“We don’t need your sword,” Wei Si innocently said, “My cousin wouldn’t even need my fist for this.” Qing Qiumu smiled at Wei Si’s statement. She was keenly aware of Wei Wuyin’s personality, and trusted him more than anyone else in her life.

Yue Songli pouted her lips, glancing at Xi Ning and Shang Wanqing yet again, especially their abundant chest regions, feeling proud of her unrivaled victory. She was entirely anxiety free.

Su Yi looked at the gigantic beast of a man. Sensing that his cultivation base was rather low. “You don’t know what’s outside,” he said plainly. There were multiple Microheaven Envoys and definitely stronger entities behind all these insidious schemes lately. From an outsider’s point of view, they were taking action to lure him out. Everything was for the sake of that goal. Perhaps that’s why he hasn’t appeared yet.

“You don’t know about my cousin’s reverse scale,” Wei Si countered. That reverse scale was his loved ones. After what he went through, the slightest harm was enough to induce a massacre of mythological proportions.

...rumble...

A slight tremble shook the Neo Zenith Tower.

“Have they already breached the tower?!” White Sky screamed.

“They must have hit the defensive formation!” Mei Xiaoyang was less jumpy, not jumping to the worst-case scenario immediately.

Su Yi frowned.

Chu Xing’s eyes widened slightly.

Su Mei’s lips formed the faintest arc.

Wei Si sensed that aura that stirred his soul. The aura of a Magi. He toothily grinned, “They’re so screwed!”

“A spiritquake?” Su Yi and Chu Xing asked simultaneously.

Erdiul’s Note: Author literally put Su Yi here just for him to witness how trash he really is compared to WW. I respect it. Bro is about to have a mental breakdown.
