Paragon Of Sin

Chapter 1908: Chapter 1900: A World of Knowing

The art of combat was ingrained in Wei Wuyin’s soul, honed through simulation and practical execution, and when it came to understanding the concepts of energy manipulation, his grasp was unrivaled. Despite this, his reaction or execution, a few flaws coincided with flawless execution.

The injury on his arm and abdomen from the spear was a sign of inadequate bodily control. While he had perfectly relied on tactics of misguiding and the power of assumed expectations, he was unable to avoid the spear’s bladed edge between his arm and abdomen. In hindsight, he could have relied on a safer series of tactics.

But when has he ever been afraid of risk to maximize gains? And what better gain could one achieve than complete victory and the annihilation of threats?

”Are they human?” Eden asked. While Wei Wuyin was unable to sense Edenʼs Astral Form or Mystic Core, it was clear their connection as souls was intact. This suggested that his body truly wasnʼt his.

”They moved like humans,” Ori commented.

”They moved like trained soldiers with humanoid form, and a foundational understanding of combat formations and martial arts. That is not exclusive to humans.” King remarked. Ori, hearing Kingʼs logical inference, corrected, causing Ori to hum thoughtfully. Eventually, its hums devolved into a little song.

Wei Wuyin lifted the helm from the tall armored figure, and the shock of death frozen within their pupils. Their bronze skin, short, unruly hair, slender nose, and thick eyebrows stood out. ”Is this a female or a male?” Wei Wuyin questioned aloud as he saw a facial feature that was oddly ambiguous. Curious, he crouched closer to pat the personʼs crotch to verify.

”Hm.” He stood up and then reached into his pants and touched his own groin. When he found a familiar sleeping dragon, he frowned instantly and thoughtfully.

The tall armored figure lacked a slit or a root. They were genderless, genuinely. Unable to rely on his Celestial Eyes or Spiritual Sense, he had to tap into his understanding of anatomy. Yet a spark of uncertainty ignited within his heart as he rubbed his groin a little more, tracing the flaccid length.

”Check the others,” Eden said. From its tone, it was clear that despite their lack of presence within his body, Eden could still intimately know his every thought if he didnʼt wish to conceal them.

Wei Wuyin didnʼt hesitate to check the bodies of the recently deceased. Even more shocking, he observed the surroundings and saw no one else, simply a rocky region with thin trees scattered without the slightest trace of grass. It seemed the tall armored figure had fled here out of pure desperation, chased by these four with relentless fervor. This must be far from whatever battlefield existed.

If he had to guess, from the pile of corpses beside him, this was an area designated to place the dead to be burned or buried later. At an initial glance, one could tell that his armor lacked any form of consistency in design with either party. This was why he acted decisively, not hesitating to treat everything as an immediate threat. The possibility that death here transitioned to an eternal slumber or existential erasure in his original world was not an impossibility.

As for the bodies of the deceased, Wei Wuyin learned they were equally androgynous in features and genderless. However, they had pale white skin and extremely long hair tied by mesh bonnets. He also checked the long-deceased. They, too, were genderless.

He checked his slumbering dragon tucked in his pants again. The issue that caused him to frown earlier wasnʼt the mere existence of it, but the fact that it was a perfect match for his genuine dragon that he had used to conquer many beautiful opponents on numerous battlefields of the satin, cotton, and polyester variety.

”My True Soul must have changed the bodily constitution of this body that was once a corpse,” Wei Wuyin surmised thoughtfully. This would explain why he could conduct familiar martial arts and execute precise movements earlier. While this might be irrelevant to the untrained eye, this had more or less been confirmed that his soul and existential framework had long been brought over to this new world. Into this new body.

A soul doesnʼt necessarily carry oneʼs existential framework, only the existential details that are built upon it over time decided by a multitude of factors such as bloodline, genetics, and cultivation, but the True Soul carries the very fundamental basis of oneʼs existence.

Curious from his theory, he wiped the bloody blade of Element, the chipped saber, and angled it to reverse his reflection. A pair of silver eyes could be seen, and his face was not exactly the same, yet calling it standardly handsome would not do it justice.

”My Magi Bloodline is present. If what Fuxi says is true, then the qualities of a Magi were imbued into specific souls, hence why they were sporadically born across the stars without order or reason. Descendants of Creation, huh?” Despite travelling to multiple galaxies, Wei Wuyin hadnʼt come across a single Magi other than the King of Everlore, who was only known through history and stories.

Verifying this fact, he decided to investigate further. He scoured the belongings of the deceased and found some chains that were attached to a bladed weapon. He then checked the spearmanʼs weapon. According to the stories in the Myriad Yore Continent, this weapon bore a strong physical resemblance to a kusarigami without the weight. Using it as a makeshift shackle, he stripped the unconscious armored spearman entirely and tied him by his arms and legs behind his back. After ensuring it was tied tightly, he looked at the bloodied nose and expression of this person.

It was hard to say if they were human. Abyssals, Elves, Celestials, and Titans, even demons, were remarkably similar to humans. This was no different race or species with humanoid features, and thatʼs not to say humans were the first creatures of their kind either.

SMACK!

Wei Wuyin slapped the spearman. However, a grunt of pain didnʼt seem to wake them up. Frowning, Wei Wuyin slapped again.

SMACK!!

A few teeth flew out. A gasping grunt of extreme agony resonated as two eyes widened open with surprise, carrying pain and hatred.

Wei Wuyin looked at his hand and then pressed against his heart. ”This body is slowly transforming, regaining the qualities of a hybrid. My Void Dragon with Kratos as his Spirit of Cultivation, Void Dragon, since evolved into gaining qualities of a True Dragon. This body would be a hybrid, but the demonic qualities of Eden would be killed and revived, he would still have his rebirth like Wu Yu, he would not only be revived as a significantly weaker state, put at its lowest, retained, and his Stellar-Paragon Physique would still be present.

Similar to how if the man with the Renewal Yang Physique regained strength is increasing a little.ʼ As a hybrid of a True Renewal Yang Quintessence. The only result would be Wei Wuyinʼs soul and existential framework had long requiring incessant development to regain its original glory. been obliterated in body, forced to undergo torture. This is what Wei Wuyin sensed in that fierce gaze of theirs.

”I have no intention of asking questions too complex or involved in your sense of loyalty. I can torture you in ways you canʼt even imagine, OR you can answer my simple questions and Iʼll grant you a quick, painless death.” Wei Wuyin didnʼt want to waste time extracting critical information; he needed very basic information, so this deal was best for both of them.

However, the flash of confusion and surprise in the spearmanʼs eyes was quite strange. Wei Wuyin nodded, ”You understand?”

The spearman stared at him. They furrowed their brows and looked at him as if he were an alien.

”He doesnʼt understand you,” Eden remarked.

Wei Wuyin realized this after that expression. He had been using the Mortal Language. This was no different from the universal common language for cultivators. All those who cultivated... Oh...

”Theyʼre not cultivators,” Eden said.

Wei Wuyin had the urge to roll his eyes at that statement. If they had cultivated, he would have certainly died many times over.

”Try Mysticism! Try Mysticism!” Ori shouted excitedly.

Wei Wuyin sighed inwardly, but he reasked in the Language of Mysticism. When he first arrived in The Battlefield, he used the Language of Mysticism to communicate. This was because, while the Mortal Language was universal, societies had too many unnecessary variations, and this could be neglected in practice. However, the Language of Mysticism was automatically learned via Mystic Intent, so all Ascended beings understood it clearly.

Unfortunately, the spearman was unable to understand.

Wei Wuyin had even used his dialect of the Mortal Language within the Myriad Yore Continent, yet that was as useless as he expected.

”Communication barrier, huh?” Wei Wuyin felt the urge to curse. He glanced at the sanguine sky and golden clouds. Then, he pulled out his chipped saber of Element. The saber in his hand trembled slightly, ready to send this person off.

”W-WAIT! WAIT!! IʼM TRYING TO UNDERSTAND! DONʼT!” As if the language barrier had inspired hope in the spearmanʼs eyes, they cried out for mercy.

”...” Wei Wuyin, Kratos, Ori, King, Eden, Little Defiant, and Element. The saber in his hand trembled slightly as if howling in response. All of them understood that.

The issue was...

”What language was that?” Wei Wuyin asked. He couldnʼt decipher the origins of the language, but he not only understood every syllable, the nuance of each spoken word was grasped by him.

Eden hummed, ”I...have no idea!”

”Hehe! What a strange language!” Ori exclaimed.

”Being a Magi is odd,” King remarked. As a Magi, Wei Wuyin could theoretically understand all languages in creation. This was how he understood the Language of Mysticism and the Language of Life and Death spoken by Su Yi. His depth of understanding was so unreasonably precise that he could vaguely understand the River of Time and the Heavenly Daos despite his state of mortal existence.

But he had never, never heard this language before.

”You donʼt recognize it?” Suddenly, Wei Wuyinʼs Second Mind spoke out. This caused Wei Wuyin to be shaken a little. When did this studious little librarian emerge? He realized that he was likely always there.

”I donʼt. Do you?” Wei Wuyin asked.

”Listen closely,” his Second Mind cryptically said.

Wei Wuyin looked at the spearman and brought his saber to his throat. He gave a gesture to speak.

”Listen! I donʼt know what you want, but Iʼm your prisoner of war! You can trade me in for merit!” The spearman tried to negotiate for his life.

Wei Wuyin frowned. Listening carefully, it did sound vaguely familiar.

Familiar...

Abruptly, his eyes explosively widened with realization!

”The Heavenly War Spirit?!” When Wei Wuyin first met the Heavenly War Spirit as an automation of the War Spirit Altar, a very similar, if not exactly the same, language was spoken into his ears. He didnʼt understand it initially, feeling as if his mind was unable to gauge past, present, or future. This changed as the Heavenly War Spirit changed to a familiar language.

”Yep!” His Second Mind proudly answered. The Heavenly War Spirit would speak or mumble these words at times. They were clearly a type of language unique to her as a Spirit of Dao governing the Law of War.

This was a clue. He looked once again at the sky, and then glanced at the warrior, back at the sky, and his eyes slowly shone with an increasing amount of realization and disbelief.

”No way,” he muttered.

”I think itʼs highly possible,” his Second Mind echoed his thoughts. ”In fact, itʼs almost certain. The transcendent Edict Potion didnʼt summon an Edict of a Sage to allow your soul to commune with the Heavenly Realm of War. It...”

”...!” Wei Wuyinʼs mind was on the verge of exploding, his pupils shrinking with each passing second. With a heavy tone, he clenched his fists: ”The potion...didnʼt conjure an edict. It summoned my soul to the Heavenly Realm of War!!!”
