Paragon Of Sin

Chapter 1891: Chapter 1883: A Swordʼs Edge

As the sword cry echoed out, sweeping across the world with a song of announcement and excitement, the players involved in this particular event all readied themselves for what was to come.

What was inevitable.

The goal to acquire unparalleled, enticing wealth and connections with Heavenly Saint Alchemists.

The bounty on Su Yiʼs head was issued out of desperation. Heaven-Saint Gloomdark, the female Heavenly Alchemic Saint of the Seven Towers of Heavenly Sages, refused to leave her fate unprotected by her so-called allies or those enforcers of the Zenith who upheld the rules of the galaxy, especially after they looked on indifferently as Sovereign Littlefather was ruthlessly slaughtered.

Those not of the galaxy would believe they were paramount existences, and to the various lesser galaxies and greater galaxies, they were valued with the highest pedigree of importance, but in the Utmost Purity Galaxy, the truth was far darker, sinister, and openly known.

Those labeled as false, regardless of their stage, regardless of their cultivation, and regardless of their connections, simply werenʼt valued. They were meandering for authority, yet held none. The Zeniths were the true rulers, and these rulers wanted—WANTED them gone. In their eyes, these so-called Heavenly Saint Alchemists were a disgrace.

They relied on their superior cultivation base as Supreme Sages to tap into a mere fraction of the Zenith or Zenith Candidateʼs alchemical ability. Even then, the resulting products were seen as failures; some of their Mystic-Heaven Alchemical Lineages were even weaker than Mystic-World Alchemical Lineages. A genuine disgrace, lowering the quality of their Alchemic Dao.

They had to take their business elsewhere, sealing themselves into a single location, and operating like rats in the corner, providing what is deemed as inferior products to the world. It was humiliating. And Heaven-Saint Gloomdark was rightfully justified by issuing that bounty, fearing inaction, and the Zeniths proved her right.

Not a single one had taken action or issued an Alchemical Edict, not even a perfunctory punishment of exile was announced, just pure, indifferent silence as they watched on. Utterly unaffected. Utterly apathetic.

If the situation continued, if she decided to just wait for Su Yi to arrive at her doorstep, there was not a non-zero chance that he would somehow skirt punishment by the Zeniths. In fact, her paranoia was taken a step further, and she FULLY believed that Su Yi was granted permission by more than a single Zenith to act.
They wanted her and Sovereign Littlefather dead.

They wanted them gone!

Within her well-protected and reinforced fortress of a Mystic-Heaven grade Tower artificially replicating a Zenith Tower, she was shivering with fear that reached her soul. Justifiably so, as a spiritual mirror projected the scene of Su Yi completing his ascension, dominating the spotlight on a galactic scale.

Behind her clenched teeth, rampant curses were hurled at the Su Yi and the Zeniths. Why was he allowed to just farm an unrivaled aura?!

”KILL HIM!”

The connected history of Su Yi began before his recent reincarnation, when he was the Cardinal Sage-level wielder of the Sword of the Transient Realm, and she contributed significantly to his eventual demise. How was she to know that his existence hadnʼt been erased, but he had spontaneously reincarnated into a younger form?

When he revealed himself back then during the Knightly Dao Calamity, she wanted to take action immediately against him, but was halted by his involvement in a game of Mystics against that damned foreigner who was looking for a fight and those peak galactic superpowers. She did not doubt that the Zeniths would watch on joyfully as Wei Wuyin acted against her.

Then, the foreigner sent him away despite her trying to fan the flame of his reincarnation and true identity after Su Yi sustained severe injuries. She wanted greed to take over, to use a burrowed knife to rid herself of a potential problem that made eating and sleeping difficult. However, when the Mythical Punishment unfolded, she was rather thankful that Sovereign Littlefather had halted her from acting directly beforehand, especially since it seemed he had a trump card to kill Microheaven Envoys.

He had used himself as bait.

Now, she was scrambling to deal with him under the constraints of many variables. Who would have thought that he hadnʼt just completely recovered, capable of killing her partner, but also that he could initiate and achieve an unprecedented eighth ascension right after his seventh ascension?!

Left with no other choice, and countless hidden and open forces acting against her, Heaven-Saint Gloomdark anxiously prayed for Su Yiʼs demise. She regretted only that she hadnʼt issued a higher bounty! A bounty that could get stronger entities to act!

”Die. Die for me!” Heaven-Saint Gloomdark whispered with venom that could taint souls.

-----

ʼWait. Wait for me,ʼ Su Yi thought as his gaze settled on Sovereign Darkmotherʼs aura.

A rumble erupted. It was heavy. Then, a series of trembling waves shook the Dark Void, alerting to the descent of something extraordinary. As if born from nothing, an azure-colored humanoid giant with a semi-transparent body appeared with world-shaping momentum. It was a full three hundred thousand meters tall upon manifesting, and within it were numerous tiny humanoid figures connected by intricate threads of soul light. The threads formed a grand internal array, and each humanoid figure held an oval mirror imbued with a complex formation. The threads encircled each mirror while simultaneously piercing through each figure.

They were cultivators, all Ascended beings of varying cultivations. For the body of this giant, a full three hundred thousand cultivators united together in a singular goal, each at the World Emperor level, genuine Worldly Saint Phase cultivators!

They all had solemn expressions while pouring their mystic power within the mirrors. The mirrors unleashed rays of soul light and worldly radiance, bathing the threads that were absorbing the power without restraint.

The head of the humanoid giant was handsome and beautiful, an androgynous sight that was difficult to discern whether it was feminine or masculine. Within the head were three thousand Original Magistrates. They held two mirrors each, one golden and the other cyan. The golden mirror was tethered to their Heaven Gate while the cyan mirror exuded soul light.

There were no Mystic Overlords present. While the Utmost Purity Galaxy was massive and developed as a society of cultivation and alchemy, it was nearly impossible to recruit Ascended Saints, individuals with the strength to rule over galaxies, to the cause of conflict without investing in them beforehand. The majority of those within the humanoid giant were aged or whose potential was expended. Some had ailments brought about by failed efforts at cultivation or excess impurity, suffering damage to their foundation that made it so they couldnʼt take another step to further themselves on the path of cultivation.

They were desperate or at the end of their rope, seeking rewards amidst great danger, exuding a spirit of cultivation befitting the daring and courageous.

There were three spots on the humanoid giant that were notably different: the glabella, the heart region, and the dantian. At each of those spots were the controllers and orchestrators of this grand array, the Incarnations of Superior Sages from beyond the galaxy. There were two men and a woman.

They looked cold and indifferent. Not a single one held any pity for Su Yi. They had greed in their hearts.

Only those who had become Resonant Soul Realm cultivators would understand that despite their grand power, the desire for continued cultivation progression was insidiously vicious, and yet so difficult that the common phrase was unable to tell the complete story. Not even a fraction of it.

They were here with the priority to kill Su Yi, and they were fully prepared.

The humanoid giant sported a cloak made of stars and the fabric of solid space, fluttering upon the voidscape as if it contained a resplendent stellar region. It was majestic and boundless, as beautiful as the starry skies seen from a planet at night.

And within its two hands were a round shield with the etching of a dracoturtle and an axe made from white clouds. The dracoturtle was alive, roaring soundlessly with a ferocious air. Meanwhile, the silver axe of clouds was ever-shifting yet exuded a world-crushing force. It was almost as if it could summon spatial storms, ruining the three dimensions of space with its edge.

With every passing second, the humanoid giant grew increasingly corporeal. It began to breathe. And its gaze gained intelligence and spirituality, staring straight at Su Yi, who was billions of miles away.

Su Yi stood aloft, sword in hand, redirecting his focus onto the incoming spatial chaos that the giant humanoid soul construct was producing with each movement. He looked at the shield and axe, feeling nostalgic as memories of his past life flowed throughout his mind.

”So youʼve come,” Su Yi calmly said.

One of the men amongst the trio of Incarnations smiled. He was middle-aged, handsome, and tall, clad in azure robes, possessing the disposition that made him imposing and frightening without a single furrow of his brow or threatening word. In terms of body shape, he resembled the humanoid giant to some degree.

”So Iʼve come.”

Two words rife with meaning echoed out.

Su Yi faintly smiled.

The man replied with a smile of his own.

BOOSH!!!

Su Yi kicked off. It was swift, explosive, and sudden. He sensed the spatial sealing array, relying purely on the strength of his physique and sword to carve a path forward through the Dark Void. He was fast. Within a single second, he had traversed a billion miles.

The humanoid giant was controlled by three Superior Sages. They were not slow at all, and while holding the shield and axe, the giant humanoid pressed its foot forward upon the void, crushing time and space beneath it, and propelled forward with speeds nearing light!

Within brief seconds, the two met. Su Yiʼs figure was minuscule in comparison, yet his momentum was not a single bit inferior. The humanoid giant exuded a worldly pressure and heavenly force that was suffocating. Only when they were within a few hundred thousand miles of each other did Su Yi feel all of it. However, his spine remained unbent, and his swordʼs edge unhindered.

He swung his sword.

A cascading wave of sword light descended upon the humanoid giant!

The humanoid giant defended itself with its shield. Treating itself like a mountain facing a tsunami, and then swung its axe. The speed of its swing was disgustingly fast. It was almost hard to perceive, like fleeting clouds. One moment it was held up ready to strike, then the next moment the swing had finished its trajectory.

Time and space were ignored.

The two figures flashed past each other.

Su Yi stood upright. He looked indifferently ahead, observing the starry skies while admiring the beauty of the creation.

The humanoid giantʼs posture was less casual. It held the shield as the dracoturtle within it held a manifestation of a sword in its mouth, chewing on its edge viciously with reckless abandon and urgency like never before. Unfortunately, the sharpness of the sword lacerated it entirely. It immediately collapsed into clean-cut, severed pieces of flesh, soon dissipating into pure energy and vanishing.

The shield crumbled.

”You…” The azure-robed man said a single word, barely able to get out a syllable. And then, a bitter smile suffused his expression as abject horror emerged on the faces of the other two. The life within every cultivator within the humanoid giant had vanished.

”I wish your true body were here,” Su Yi said.

”Youʼve…grown…stronger…” The azure-robed Superior Sage remarked as his head slid off the neck. A geyser of resonant qi erupted like hot blood, causing the humanoid giantʼs head to explode!

Then the heart region exploded!

Lastly, the dantian exploded!

BOOM!!

The entire humanoid giant exploded!!!

Su Yiʼs robes fluttered and his hair blew fiercely as if subjected to a strong wind. He silently admired the sharp edge of his sword.

Then, his gaze focused on two figures emerging from concealment, pincering him in two directions.

Two Avatars of Superior Sages!
