Paragon Of Sin

Chapter 1879: Chapter 1871: Unpredictable Variables (2)

The woman had a wide smile as constant as the universe, the upward curve of her light peach-colored lipsʼ edges held neither elation nor malice, generating a dissonance that could sway the psyche with confusion and discomfort, yet her joyful laughter felt genuine and grounded to the ears. It was as natural as breathing and as delicate as the scent of a floral fragrance sweeping with the wind.

”Hehehe! How fun!”

Su Meiʼs clear eyes reflected the womanʼs image. She was by all means a one-of-a-kind beauty, wild and untamed. The womanʼs height wasnʼt very tall, about an inch shorter than herself, but her body was fit, openly athletic without an excess of muscle. Her thick dark brown eyebrows had not a single stray hair, perfectly accentuating her pair of deep-set hazel eyes.

She wore a metal breastplate that covered half of her abdomen, leaving the lower portion exposed. Her midriff was freely exposed, revealing flawlessly rose beige skin.. However, it was almost as if daring to appreciate such a wonderful sight was littered with spikes of sinister killing intent. Her cleavage was left to the imagination, guarded by the breastplate, yet one could easily tell she wasnʼt average by any stretch of the word.

On her legs were dark leather leggings, covered by armored greaves etched with esoteric symbols, and her feet were protected by a pair of black and sanguine open-toed shoes, exposing her bright green toe polish that glistened magically with the fiery radiance of the world. On her arms were two leather bracers with straps and pockets that held a kunai blade at their front and back, affixed to them. With her shoulder-length wavy black hair with neon azure and emerald colors and layered bangs shaped her diamond-shaped face, establishing her as an eye-catching beauty that stood out among any common crowd.

Despite her smile, Su Mei did not lower her guard; the woman gave off a scent of calamitous danger and spontaneous, erratic changes of air and identity. She was unreadable.

Moreover, she had reached this subspace where the core of this Heavenly World was without any sign of difficulty. She relied on the Void Ringʼs power to execute the Void Portal Creation Art imbued with the Laws of Space and Time, derivative of Wei Wuyinʼs abilities.

The Afrit-tuza could enter freely after the Heavenly World detonated, not rejected by the natural defenses of this subspace.

The starfish Star-Devourer was the only Star-Devourer that could temporarily traverse the Void, executing a type of Void Shift that was only inferior to Wei Wuyinʼs Void Portal Creation. Without any Void or Spatial Shifting Prevention Formations or Arrays, nothing was hindering its arrival.

As for those outside the subspace, they included the Su Yi and Yue Baoyue, as well as the devious Sovereign Littlefather and his group of Sages. The mere fact that they couldnʼt enter despite their overwhelming strength and profound means only hinted at the strangeness of this woman before her.
”Oh!” The woman pointed her index finger with an exclamation of interest, directing her neon-green-painted fingernail in the direction of the fiery core that Shui Fengbao had dived in.

Su Meiʼs hand tightened around her saberʼs hilt.

Yet the woman didnʼt act aggressively, only asking curiously: ”Is that a Daoseeking Child?” Her strong voice was innocent and pure, and her wide smile was capable of disarming others.

”...” Su Mei furrowed her brows. She didnʼt answer. Her entire focus was honed onto every auric, physical, mental, and spiritual fluctuation from the woman.

The woman didnʼt seem too bothered, continuing with a slight purse of her lips. ”Perhaps not a Daoseeking Child. Could it be a Lesser-Heaven Primeval Sprout? They donʼt typically last until this level of cultivation, though. How peculiar. They havenʼt been tainted by the Radiance of ✧✮✧.”

Su Meiʼs ears instantly bled. She was unable to comprehend the last part of the womanʼs sentence. However, she had tried with all her senses, finding the strange syllables familiar; Yao Houyi lowered his ʼgazeʼ from the ongoing battle above and focused on the newcomer without hesitation. ”✧✮✧?” He asked with an arched eyebrow.

Despite saying the word, Su Mei couldnʼt understand it. However, this time, there was no pain in her ears.

”Oh? Youʼre definitely a Primeval Sprout! Thereʼs two! Or just one?” The woman excitedly declared, her smile remaining on her face without lowering as if it was in a state of perpetual occurrence. ”Your cultivation bases are high. To have made it this far while avoiding fated calamities is quite something, especially without protection.”

Yao Houyi frowned. ”Shall I?” At the moment, his right handʼs fingers were already pinched together as if holding an arrow. While he didnʼt have a bow in his left hand, spatial and time energies began to congregate around it.

Su Mei subtly shook her head. Her gaze never left the woman. Yao Houyi understood. With a soft exhale, his body slid back naturally as if gliding across space, immediately establishing an exact distance of three hundred meters from Su Meiʼs position. As he did, a fiery light flickered on his fingertips as the energies of the world began gathering at his will.

”You are also interesting. Your cultivation base is solidly forged, and youʼve grasped Laws at your stage.” The woman lowered her finger, and just as it seemed to reach her waist, Su Meiʼs pupils violently constricted as she pulled her saber out.

SHIIIN—Baup.

Su Mei erupted with her full strength, unleashing a saber howl that snatched away all light and darkness, ready to sever all things with a single swing! However, just as she pulled her saber out until there were only two inches of its blade left, a hand with bright green nails pressed against her elbow, gently maneuvering it until her unsheathed motion was smoothly reversed.

Her eyes widened to their extreme limits. Her body froze; Yao Houyi was mid-motion pulling at the string of an invisible bow. However, an arrow of fire

However, the arrow of fire formed through his Ascension Art was plucked out of his hand as if it were a solid object.

He found his body frozen as well. However, this wasnʼt out of any suppression of aura or spirit, but genuine, heart-palpitating, soul-piercing, mind-born fear!

The woman toyed with the arrow of fire as she walked by Su Mei, appraising it with clear appreciation. ”What an incredible Ascension Art. Youʼre using your Spiritual Power imbued with a Worldly Domain to give it shape, form, and the ability to gather the ambient energies of the world for your use. With this, you can create an arrow relying on the limits of the environment. By using this Ascension Art in this spatial realm, you can create an arrow of a grade between peak Mystic-World and low Mystic-Heaven. Fascinatingly talented usage of your Intent of Archery. Befitting of a Primeval Sprout.”

Su Mei felt stifled. The woman was too fast. She had gently prevented her from sheathing her weapon, grabbed the arrow of fire Yao Houyi had formed, and then appeared only a few feet from her.

”...” Su Mei thought for a second, closing her eyes as thoughts and sensations flowed through her body, mind, and soul. Then, she opened her eyes. There wasnʼt an iota of fear within.

The womanʼs wide smile never left her face as she observed Su Mei. ”What a sturdy Heart of Cultivation!” Just as she said that, Yao Houyiʼs paralysis brought about by fear ceased as if fueled by Su Meiʼs calm. He regained his freedom.

”What do you want?” Yao Houyi calmly asked. It was clear that this womanʼs cultivation base had exceeded their own, and she was far beyond their abilities to handle.

”You too? Well, isnʼt that something? Do you both cultivate a Mental Incantation of an Unseen Divinity?” The woman asked with curiosity in her eyes. Despite her strength, she seemed to be unable to deduce the intricacies of their cultivation bases entirely, only gathering vague details. However, her guesses were beyond accurate in many ways.

After all, not even they knew that Wei Wuyinʼs Sea of Consciousness and bloodline had long since been infused with the properties of divine mist shrouding Unseen Divinites, the profound qualities of a True Dragon.

”Or perhaps,” she mused out loud next to Su Mei, ”your Sea of Consciousness has been refined by the faint aura of an Anima-Devourer? You both are so strange and must have had your fair share of extraordinary natural opportunities. How enviable.” The woman merely guessed, seemingly not too invested in finding out the answer.

”...” Both Yao Houyi and Su Mei only stared at her, unblinking. Theyʼre bodies and souls were still readying to fight.

”No need for all that,” she waved her hand, and the arrow of fire returned to Yao Houyi. ”I didnʼt expect that the Holy Void of Fortune was experiencing such a fun event. I only came here as a detour to watch the fun. I didnʼt think Iʼd find two Primeval Sprouts. My curiosity just got the better of me.”

Yao Houyi thoughtfully lowered his ʼgazeʼ before lifting it back toward the woman, ”Then, can I ask that you leave this spatial realm. Iʼd rather not have my friendʼs cultivation interrupted.”

”No worries! No worries! Hehe. I have no design on that flawed Resonant Soul. Your friend wonʼt experience any interference from me,” her wide smile widened slightly more, forming a faint grin, and then she turned toward the outside. Her hazel eyes reflected a man wielding a sword, clashing with a group of True Sages and Enlightened Sages in a concerted effort to emulate a Supreme Sageʼs powers.

”A Samsara-type Reincarnator? Close, but not an Empyrean. Well, Iʼll let him eat a little more.” After whispering those words, she returned her gaze to Su Mei, whose clear eyes focused on her entirely. ”Perhaps weʼll meet again. Perhaps we wonʼt. Hehe. Bye.”

With those vague and clumsy words, she dissipated into pure worldly energy within an instant.

Su Meiʼs heart skipped a beat.

Yao Houyi softly exclaimed: ”An Incarnation?”

THAT was a clone?!

”It wasnʼt,” Su Mei finally spoke aloud. The discomforting sensation she felt earlier vanished, and she felt that it meant the woman was genuinely gone. ”She was a spiritual projection.”

A projection?! Yao Houyi was shaken. If an Incarnation was an energy clone, then an Avatar was a cultivated second-body that can be used as a substitute, and a projection was a mere wisp of spiritual strength, spiritual force, spiritual power, or spiritual qi.

Who was this woman?!

Abruptly, both of them turned their heads in unison as an aura they were intimately familiar exited out of a Void Portal that had appeared without warning.

Wei Wuyin!
