School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 675: Chapter 751 Ye Yiyi Has Something on Her Mind

Chen Nan was filled with joy and couldn’t wait to answer the phone, ”Yiyi, are you okay?”

”I’m fine.”

Compared to before, Ye Yiyi’s voice was significantly more subdued. After a moment of silence, she said, ”I’m really glad to know that senior brother still cares about me in his heart.”

Hearing these words filled Chen Nan with remorse.

After his return, he had been preoccupied with saving Su Qingqing and had neglected to contact his junior sister. Although there was no blame in her words, he was certain she was upset.

”Chen Nan, oh Chen Nan, you are such a jerk. Yiyi risked her life for you, throwing caution to the wind, and yet you’ve hurt her time and again. Can you even call yourself a human?” Chen Nan reproached himself internally, slapping his own face hard.

Hearing a ”slap” sound over the phone, Ye Yiyi quickly asked, ”What are you doing?”

”Nothing, just feeling sorry for you.”

Though Chen Nan knew that such words were useless, he still spoke them, because saying them out loud would make both him and his junior sister feel a bit better.

After pondering for a brief moment, Ye Yiyi said, ”Senior brother, you haven’t wronged me. It’s just that I’m not good enough to capture your heart.”

Chen Nan felt as if he could already see her eyes brimming with tears and her haggard face, causing a heart-wrenching pain to surge through him: ”Are you upset?”

How could I not be upset?

Ye Yiyi asked herself inwardly. As her tears fell, she nodded slightly, but she denied it aloud, ”No. Just remember, no matter how you treat me, even if you abandon me, I won’t be mad at you, senior brother.”

Chen Nan’s heart ached, and his eyes quickly grew damp.

After hesitating for a long while, he gritted his teeth and said, ”Yiyi, if you’re willing, I can drop everything right now. Whether we wander the Jianghu or retreat to the mountains, I will never leave you again in this lifetime.”

Although he couldn’t let go of Su Qingqing and the others in his heart, Chen Nan wouldn’t hesitate for a second to leave if his junior sister just said the word.

He owed his junior sister, in both emotion and gratitude; debts he could never repay in a lifetime, even if it meant his death, he wouldn’t frown.

”But can you truly let go in your heart?”

Ye Yiyi asked this question, and Chen Nan, too, asked himself the same thing. Could he really let go if he were to leave like this?

Shaking his head, Chen Nan didn’t dwell on it anymore and said, ”Silly girl, you just need to tell me what you want. As long as it makes you happy, I am willing to protect you for a lifetime and make up for my past wrongs to you.”

”Is it merely to make amends?” Ye Yiyi’s voice carried a hint of dejection.

”Of course not.”

Realizing he had misspoken, Chen Nan quickly added, ”I am just not good with words, senior brother. I didn’t mean that. Don’t overthink it.”

Ye Yiyi chuckled, ”Alright, as long as I know your intentions, that’s enough. I don’t want to make you unhappy. You stay where you are. As long as you have me in your heart, I am satisfied.”

”But...”

Chen Nan wanted to continue, but Ye Yiyi interrupted him, ”I would also want you to come with me, to lead a life like fairy-tale lovers, but you can’t leave Su Qingqing now, otherwise... never mind, just keep staying there, I’m fine.”

”Otherwise what?” Chen Nan asked, ”Do you know something? Why won’t you tell me?”

”Master said I must not tell you, or else all previous efforts would be wasted,” Ye Yiyi explained, ”That’s all I can say. Please, senior brother, don’t ask anymore, consider it a plea from me, okay?”

Chen Nan furrowed his brows.

He had always found Ye Yiyi’s joining of Sky Team peculiar, and now he felt even more puzzled.

Between the master and his younger female disciple, there really were things being kept from him; of that, Chen Nan was certain. However, what exactly those things were, he truly couldn’t figure out.

”Okay, Big Brother Senior Brother, I’m going to practice cultivation now. Let’s talk again later.”

”Wait, hold on a second.”

Chen Nan, terrified she would hang up the phone, hastily said, ”Are you at the Sky Team headquarters right now? I’ll come to find you.”

”No need, I’m about to enter seclusion for cultivation,” Ye Yiyi said after a moment of silence. ”I’ll come to find you a few days after I emerge from seclusion.”

”Alright then, be careful when you practice.”

”Silly Senior Brother, I’m not a three-year-old child anymore, you can relax.”

Ye Yiyi spoke with a giggling tone, and then hung up the phone. The moment the call disconnected, she felt a sweetness in her throat, and was unable to hold back a mouthful of fresh blood that gushed forth, staining the white front of her garment.

Her complexion was pale; she took a handkerchief to wipe the fresh blood from the corner of her mouth, and muttered to herself, ”I’m sorry, Big Brother Senior Brother, I don’t want you to see me like this. If I’m lucky enough to survive, with Master’s help, I’ll be sure to follow by your side, never leaving you.”

Teardrops glistened as they rolled down from the corners of her eyes, and Ye Yiyi slowly closed her eyes.

...

Chen Nan was unaware of the difficulties in Ye Yiyi’s heart.

Harboring guilt towards his younger female disciple, after taking a bath, he didn’t go to the hall but lay down on the bed and prepared to sleep.

But barely after lying down, the door was knocked on, and Su Qingqing’s voice came from outside, ”Dummy, have you fallen asleep?”

Chen Nan didn’t answer.

After hesitating for quite a while, he finally replied, ”Just laid down, what’s up?”

Su Qingqing scratched her head, feeling confused by Chen Nan’s tone, which seemed a lot colder than before. ”Nothing much, just wanted to see you. If it’s too difficult for you to get up, then never mind.”

Chen Nan really wanted to ask her to stay.

But deep in his heart, a voice continuously warned him that he was destined to be a fickle man, having already harmed Huo Xinya, Jiang Xiaomi, and Li Xiao, he couldn’t let Su Qingqing get dragged in as well.

Clenching his fists tightly, Chen Nan said against his will, ”You should go to sleep early too.”

Hearing that, Su Qingqing almost couldn’t believe her ears. This stinky dummy, how could he lack any sense of romance, knowing full well she liked him and yet he didn’t even try to make her stay!

Sulking, Su Qingqing felt quite annoyed in her heart.

But then she thought, Chen Nan had risked even his name to save her, and her heart instantly felt warm again.

Maybe men could have their ’time of the month’ too, she thought. Let it go, don’t be angry with him.

With her thoughts swirling in her head, Su Qingqing patted the door a few times, ”Dummy, why are you sleeping so early? Come on, open the door.”

”Didn’t you say you were going to sleep?”

Chen Nan was speechless, having just managed to hold back from asking her to stay, and yet this girl still didn’t want to leave.

”I’ve already slept for three months, I’ve more than had my fill,” she said, knocking on the door. She didn’t know that Chen Nan had just finished a phone call with Ye Yiyi and was feeling guilty, so she pouted and grumbled, ”Dummy, did I do something wrong? Or say something wrong? Why have you suddenly become so cold to me?”
