School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 590: Chapter 664: Facing Death with Equanimity

The abandoned factory was located in the suburbs, enveloped by overgrown grass and shrubbery, making it quite secluded.

After dashing out of the factory, Chen Nan caught a whiff of Huo Xinya’s scent lingering in the air. He propelled himself forward at his highest speed, following the trace, but after chasing for about a mile through the underbrush, he emerged into an open area where the scent from Huo Xinya had been completely dispersed by the wind.

”Xinxin!”

Chen Nan scanned his surroundings and bellowed towards the sky.

Yet, the area was desolate, void of even an echo.

However, just as he was at a loss for direction, suddenly, a figure leapt towards him from the distance.

The person was clothed in white and judging by the build, was likely a woman, but her face was veiled, concealing her features. She tossed a long, rod-like item towards Chen Nan and, vibrating the air with her inner strength, made her voice heard: ”Huo Xinya is being taken to the Ling family headquarters, she’s already halfway there.”

As her words ended, she swiftly left.

Smelling the familiar scent in the air, Chen Nan couldn’t help but shout, ”Shi’er!”

The white-clad woman’s figure paused briefly, then without turning back, sped away at high speed.

”Is it really her?”

Chen Nan muttered to himself, too pressed for time to think further. He hastily unwrapped the cloth-covered rod-like object in his hand and was instantly startled.

The Heavenly Punishment Demon Sword!

This demon sword had been kept at his home, hidden extremely well. At that time, only he and Shi’er had been present.

Could this white-clad woman truly be Shi’er?

If Shi’er really had such impressive skills, then how had she come to be captured by the Red Snake Gang? Or was it that she hadn’t been captured at all, but instead had bound herself there, using the opportunity to get close to him?

If that was the case, Chen Nan felt the situation was becoming complicated. Shi’er seemed to have no ill intentions, but why did she want to get close to him?

With no time to ponder these questions, Chen Nan slung the demon sword over his back and, driving the Touareg he had snatched earlier, sped in the direction of the provincial city at breakneck speed.

Pulling out his phone, Chen Nan dialed Xuan Tianji’s number.

The Ling family was a formidable force; if he went there alone, his chances of survival were slim.

As soon as the call connected, irate cursing came from the other end, ”You little rascal, encountered trouble, did you? Deal with your own mess. Don’t come to me; I’m busy!”

Chen Nan was somewhat speechless; what kind of master was this?

”You old fart, if you don’t help me this time, don’t blame me for disowning you as my master. When you’re on your deathbed, this lord won’t come to pay you last respects either!”

”You dare, you scamp!”

”Just watch if I dare!”

”Damn it!”

”Damn nothing.” Chen Nan said. ”You’ve only got two choices today: either you help me, or I cast you out of the sect, and we have nothing to do with each other from now on.”

Hearing this, the old man roared, ”Son of a bitch, you dare to be so disrespectful to your ancestors and master!”

”I dare to disrespect my master today. Are you helping me or not?”

”No help!” The old man snorted coldly, gruffly saying, ”Just the Ling family? If you die at their hands, you don’t deserve to be Xuan Tianji’s disciple!”

Although Chen Nan hadn’t stated his purpose, the old master already knew everything.

Chen Nan was always frustrated with old man Xuan Tianji’s prophetic divination skill because the damned old man didn’t teach it to him. ”Dammit, you make it sound easy. There are so many old monsters in the Ling family, and any one of them is stronger than me. How am I supposed to rescue someone?”

The old man responded irritably, ”That’s your problem, figure it out yourself. Anyway, if you die at the Ling family’s, I’ll just pretend I never had you as a disciple. I can’t afford to lose that much face.”

”Damn you...old man, you...”

Chen Nan hadn’t finished cursing when he heard the beep-beep-beep from his phone, obviously, the old man had already hung up.

”Son of a bitch!”

Chen Nan pounded the steering wheel twice, feeling an urge to smash his phone.

He truly didn’t know what got into that old man, sending him, all by himself, to break into the Ling family’s domain. Wasn’t this a suicide mission?

Last time, the fourth young master of the Ling family, Ling Tiangu, had already reached the peak of the Third Level of Tao, and the old monsters of the Ling family could only be stronger than Ling Tiangu, never weaker.

Chen Nan shook his head, feeling speechless.

For him, at Qi Dao Ten Layers, to confront a whole group of Taoist Masters, that old man was truly shameless.

After finding his junior sister’s number, Chen Nan hesitated for a moment but ultimately decided against dialing.

Heading to the Ling family was a near-certain death, and his junior sister and the Sky Team’s members weren’t any stronger than him. Calling them along would simply be leading them to die with him.

Turning off his phone, Chen Nan floored the accelerator and raced towards the Ling family’s estate.

For Huo Xinya, even if it meant death, he would never give up.

Tearing a piece of cloth from his clothing, Chen Nan bit his finger and with his blood wrote:

”If I really die, Yiyi, you must live well. Don’t seek vengeance for me, leave the Sky Team, and live a peaceful and stable life. I owe you in this life and can never repay. In the next life, I swear to love only you, to stand hand in hand till our hair turns white, never to part! — Chen Nan’s final words!”

Chen Nan attached the blood-written message to a dart and, with a flick of his wrist, threw it, embedding it into a big tree by the roadside.

An hour later, Chen Nan entered the provincial city.

The ancient martial Ling family was quite well-known in the provincial city, and Chen Nan didn’t need to ask for directions; straightforward navigation led him there.

Breaking through traffic, it took him twenty minutes to finally arrive at the Ling family’s residence.

Looking at the sprawling estate surrounded by fencing over tens of thousands of square meters and the extremely luxurious villas inside, with several guards standing at the main gate, Chen Nan stepped on the gas and drove straight in.

”Who is that! Stop the car, stop the car!”

A few guard dogs waved and yelled, but Chen Nan ignored them, ramming his car into them as if it were a tank.

Out of the four gatekeepers, three cowardly moved aside, but one who was not afraid to die stood in the middle of the gate, only to be sent flying more than ten meters away by Chen Nan’s car; whether he was dead or alive was unknown, but after a few twitches on the ground, he lay still.

After crashing through the fenced perimeter, Chen Nan scanned the area and saw two burly men escorting Huo Xinya towards the inside a hundred meters away.

”Let her go!”

Chen Nan swerved the car, lightly tapping the brakes.

The entire car ”swooshed” around in a drift, and accompanied by him flooring the accelerator, the wheels screeched against the ground, speeding towards where Huo Xinya was.

”You dare to break into the Ling family alone, truly courting death.”

A mocking laugh followed, and the next moment, more than ten grenades flew across the sky, swarming towards Chen Nan like locusts.
