School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 551: Chapter 620 Ye Yiyi’s Thoughts

Detecting Chen Nan’s gaze, Lan Yuqin’s face turned red as she snapped, ”Shameless! Despicable! I was talking about the sausage on the table!”

Having his thoughts read, Chen Nan also felt somewhat embarrassed.

He hurriedly handed over the sausage, but at that moment Lan Yuqin tossed the kitchen knife aside and strode out of the kitchen, ”Shameless guy, just cook by yourself, I won’t help you anymore!”

Chen Nan: ”...”

Before long, tantalizing aromas wafted from the kitchen.

Lan Yuqin was already hungry and after smelling these scents, her stomach immediately started ”gurgling” and saliva began to surge in her mouth.

This guy was a scoundrel, but he really did have a knack for cooking.

For a moment, Lan Yuqin became even more curious about Chen Nan, his calligraphy, and his cooking seemed too sophisticated for a high school student and had an air of a reclusive expert.

Wait, what reclusive expert? He’s at best a reclusive jerk!

As she was silently criticizing him, Chen Nan had already opened the kitchen door and brought out four or five dishes.

Although they were just simple home-cooked dishes, the taste was quite good, even better than the culinary skills of some hotel chefs.

After trying a bite, Lan Yuqin couldn’t stop eating.

The more she ate, the more delicious it seemed, and before long, unusually for her, she refilled her bowl several times.

Chen Nan on the other hand had finished eating early and put down his chopsticks. Seeing Lan Yuqin still eating vigorously, he chuckled, ”Teacher, I’ll head out first then, you take your time.”

It was no joke, he obviously had to get out now or else he’d be stuck washing dishes, wouldn’t he?

Lan Yuqin, oblivious to Chen Nan’s thinking, glanced up at him and after a moment’s hesitation, nodded.

As he reached the doorway, Chen Nan suddenly turned back, a mischievous glint in his eye, ”Oh, Teacher, I forgot to tell you something.”

”What?”

Lan Yuqin looked over, puzzled.

”About that big sausage... I was worried it’d make you queasy to see it whole, so I chopped it into tiny bits and mixed it into these dishes.” Chen Nan couldn’t help laughing heartily, his trick successful, ”It seems it tastes quite nice. Take your time eating, I’m off!”

Sausage?

Minced?

Lan Yuqin’s expression instantly turned sour, her face losing its flush and turning pale.

If Chen Nan had not intentionally mentioned it, she might not have had any reaction even after eating it.

But with Chen Nan’s deliberate suggestion, all sorts of images she definitely didn’t want to think about popped into her mind.

A sense of disgust arose, and Lan Yuqin couldn’t eat any more. She slammed her hand on the table and stood up, about to curse at Chen Nan, only to find that the scoundrel had vanished.

”Chen Nan you scoundrel, I will never let you off!”

Listening to the cursing coming from the dormitory building, Chen Nan shook his head, a face of helplessness: She’s a teacher, isn’t she? Why is she so unrefined?

However, teasing this naïve and beautiful teacher was indeed a pleasant thing to do.

Feeling proud of himself, his phone rang; it was Jiang Xiaomi, that wild girl.

Hesitating for a moment, Chen Nan answered the call, ”Hello, what’s up so late?”

”Nan-ge, look at you, talking like that. Do I need an excuse to call you...”

Before Jiang Xiaomi could finish speaking, he interrupted, ”If it’s nothing, I’m hanging up. Goodbye!”

”Hey, don’t hang up! There’s something, really.”

Jiang Xiaomi quickly called out to Chen Nan, saying, ”Nan-ge, you remember my cousin, right? She’s run into some trouble now, and I was hoping you could help out...”

”Trouble? Then call 110, what do you want me for!” Chen Nan replied and hung up the call.

What a joke, wasn’t Jiang Xiaomi’s cousin that drama student Hua Xiaoyan? Last time, incited by Jiang Xiaomi, she posed as his ex-girlfriend, claimed that Chen Nan had abandoned his wife, and caused a big scene at the school; even Lan Yuqin got angry.

Now she was coming back, who knew what trick she intended to play?

Within five seconds, the phone rang again. Chen Nan was about to switch it off, but the caller ID showed it was his junior sister, so he quickly answered—

”Little girl actually called, missing your senior brother?”

Chen Nan said with a smile, his face inadvertently breaking into a silly grin.

From the phone came Ye Yiyi’s somewhat playful voice, ”You sound surprised. What’s wrong, did I catch you senior brother when you’re busy doing something bad?”

Chen Nan gave a bitter smile, about to speak, when Ye Yiyi interjected, ”Senior brother, what are you thinking about? Why are you silent again? You’re not really up to something bad, are you?”

Chen Nan laughed wryly, ”You silly girl, you’re thinking too much. What bad thing could I possibly be doing? By the way, why are you calling me at this time, is there something wrong?”

”Nothing much really, just that I suddenly missed senior brother and wanted to hear your voice.”

Ye Yiyi said sweetly, her light voice coming through the phone.

”Silly girl, if you miss your senior brother, come and find me, or you can pick a place and let me come to see you.”

Hearing Ye Yiyi’s somewhat foolish and affectionately naïve words, Chen Nan felt an impulse surge within him, wishing he could hold this silly girl in his arms right now.

”Mm, I know, senior brother, you’re so good to me!”

Ye Yiyi laughed happily, hesitated for a moment, and then replied, ”But right now, just hearing your voice makes me very content. Can you stay with me a bit longer and talk?”

”Why do you speak such foolish words? Do you really need my permission for this? I dare not disobey a junior sister’s command, and even less a wife’s.”

The tone of his junior sister was somehow strange—it just didn’t seem right.

After exchanging a few words, Chen Nan became even more convinced of his suspicions and suddenly interrupted her, ”Yiyi, are you hiding something from me?”

”Ah? No... No, how could I have anything to hide from senior brother?” On the other end of the phone, Ye Yiyi’s voice seemed calm, but Chen Nan could detect a hint of panic.

”You have never hidden anything from me before, and I hope it can always be that way,” Chen Nan said seriously.

Hearing Chen Nan speak like this, Ye Yiyi was silent for a while.

And Chen Nan did not press further, quietly waiting for Ye Yiyi’s response.

In the silent night, Ye Yiyi hesitated for another moment before letting out a soft laugh, ”Really, there’s nothing. I just have to carry out a mission, and I might not be able to contact you for a while, so I wanted to hear your voice.”

Chen Nan frowned, ”What mission?”

”Chasing down a treasure that belongs to Huaxia, it’s very simple,” Ye Yiyi said with a laugh, reassuringly, ”You don’t need to worry, senior brother. My martial arts are not weak; I will definitely complete the mission.”

Chen Nan’s brow furrowed deeply.

Although his junior sister’s tone was relaxed from beginning to end, Chen Nan felt she was just putting on an act.

Eight years of separation could not erase the tacit understanding between two people who grew up together. Chen Nan noticed something off in Ye Yiyi’s tone right away.

However, he was also clear that in his junior sister’s heart, he was everything to her, but there were some matters he might not be able to dissuade her from, especially when they involved his benefit. She would be reckless in her actions.

After a long silence, not probing further, Chen Nan instead instructed, ”Then you must protect yourself and not let anything happen, understand?”

”Mm, I understand,” she replied.

They chatted a little longer before Chen Nan found an excuse to hang up the phone and immediately dialed Poison Wolf’s number.

As soon as the call connected, he directly asked, ”Are we not brothers?”

Poison Wolf clearly paused, a bit confused, ”What are you even on about? If we’re not brothers, what else could we be?”

”Good, that’s exactly what I wanted to hear!” Chen Nan nodded and then said in a grave voice, ”Then tell me, what exactly is Yiyi’s mission?”

”This...”

Poison Wolf choked on his words.

After a moment’s hesitation, he hemmed and hawed, ”About that, I’m not very clear...”

Chen Nan certainly didn’t believe him and said sternly, ”Who was it that just said we are brothers?”

Pressured by Chen Nan’s persistent questioning, Poison Wolf finally ran out of excuses and, after a pause, let out a bitter laugh and confessed, ”The specific mission is to hunt down a few individuals who have stolen Huaxia’s treasure. They are significant figures, and there could be considerable danger involved in this mission, which is why the princess wanted me to keep it from you...”

As expected, there was danger!

Chen Nan felt a twinge of anger and, without saying more to Poison Wolf, hung up the phone, ready to find Xuan Tianji for a clear explanation.

This damn old man had clearly promised him not to let Ye Yiyi face any danger, yet now he had gone back on his word.

He needed to understand what was going on!

But the call he made was met with a voice stating it couldn’t be connected.

After several unsuccessful attempts, Chen Nan got frustrated and dialed Poison Wolf’s number again, ”Where are you guys meeting up? Tell me at once, or don’t blame me for no longer considering you a brother!”

Feeling Chen Nan’s anger, Poison Wolf let out a wry laugh, ”You really are something to fear, just wait, I’m coming over to pick you up.”

Over ten minutes later, a battered van roared into view, screeching to a halt beside Chen Nan.

Without waiting for Poison Wolf’s invitation, Chen Nan immediately pulled open the van door and climbed inside.

Seeing Chen Nan’s icy demeanor, Poison Wolf shook his head with a sigh, ”Now Yiyi will blame me again; after all, right now she is the princess of Sky Team, my immediate superior.”

Chen Nan gave him a glance and said with a smile, ”I will explain to her that I forced you to tell me.”

With a helpless sigh, Poison Wolf started the vehicle.

More than half an hour later, the van entered an air force base on the outskirts of town.

Inside the hangar, Sky Team’s members had already assembled, ready for deployment.

Seeing Poison Wolf’s dilapidated van, a man with a defiant face and sharp eyes cursed, ”Damn it, you’re always the last one for a mission, were you sleeping with women again?”

It was Falcon.

Poison Wolf hopped out of the van and kicked him in the butt, retorting with a laugh, ”You bloody lecher, who’d want to sleep with your sister, huh? Don’t you see Crown Prince sitting right there?”

Before he finished speaking, Chen Nan also jumped out of the van.

The group, who had been jesting among themselves, instantly turned solemn. They straightened up and saluted Chen Nan with a fist, shouting, ”Crown Prince!”

”We’re all brothers here, no need for formalities.”

Chen Nan waived them off, not really in the mood for jokes. Scanning the surroundings, he finally saw his surprised junior sister by the side, and only then did he breathe a sigh of relief.
