Chapter 75 -87: Calligraphy Master

“I… I wrote you a love letter?”

Chen Nan could hardly believe his ears, looking at Lan Yuqin with a puzzled face, he asked, “Are you sure it was me who wrote it?”

“Hmph! Wrote it and now you don’t dare to admit it, so much for being a man!” Lan Yuqin glared at him coldly and then grabbed the envelope on the desk and threw it at him, “Take a good look for yourself, your name is even signed on it!”

Chen Nan took the envelope, pulled out the letter, and nearly collapsed on the spot.

Ni Ma, with such ugly handwriting and such poor writing, could it be mine?

Chen Nan felt like he was about to break down. He might not have learned English, but that didn’t mean his Chinese was bad too!

He could recite three hundred Tang poems at the age of six, recite the Records of the Grand Historian at seven, and rattled off The Art of War by Sun Tzu at eight. He could be considered a talented person, but the literary flair in this love letter was even worse than Liu Tiantian’s!

“My dearest Qinqin, you’re so beautiful, oh so pretty, oh so sexy, I’m totally in love with you. I don’t expect to spend eternity with you, just a night of passion. Tonight I’ll take you to a hotel, and we won’t get up until dawn…”

Chen Nan read out each sentence, but before he could finish the letter, Lan Yuqin beside him burst out.

“Bastard! You still have the face to read it aloud, shut your mouth!” Lan Yuqin grabbed the teaching whip and lashed it hard on the desk before lunging over to snatch away the letter, yelling furiously, “Have you no shame? I’m your teacher, and you write such a shameless and vulgar thing, you are simply…”

“Stop, stop, stop!”

Before Lan Yuqin could finish, Chen Nan interrupted her urgently, “Teacher, please figure out the situation first. The letter is so poorly written, and the handwriting on it is so ugly, how could it possibly be mine? Someone must be framing me.”

Framing?

Hearing this, Lan Yuqin calmed down quite a bit.

She came to the office early in the morning and took a round in the class. When she came back, she found an additional love letter on her desk. When she saw Chen Nan’s name as the signer, she nearly went mad. She could tolerate his usual mischief, but now he had written such a vulgar love letter to her; even a clay figurine would have a flash of anger, much less a living person.

In her anger, she lost her senses and decided to look for Chen Nan without verifying the letter’s authenticity, and just as Chen Nan was passing by outside, this scene erupted.

Now that she thought about it in detail, Lan Yuqin also felt there were many doubts.

“You really didn’t write this?” Lan Yuqin stared at Chen Nan, her expression unfriendly as she spoke.

Chen Nan nodded his head as if he were a rattle drum, “No, definitely not. I can guarantee with my integrity, my writing is never this bad, my characters are never this ugly, and my thoughts are certainly not this dirty!”

Lan Yuqin gave him a sideways glance, “You’re talking to me about integrity? Do you have any?”

Upon hearing this, Chen Nan’s eyes bulged, “Gosh, you can defile my body, you can defile my soul, but you can’t defile my noble character!”

“I’m defiling what now?” Lan Yuqin scowled at him fiercely, grateful that the office was empty of other teachers this early, and she said coldly, “Since you say it wasn’t you who wrote it, can you prove it?”

“Of course, I can!”

Chen Nan strode over, grabbed a fountain pen from the table, and wrote a few characters on a blank piece of paper with a flourish. Then he shrugged and said, “Take a look, do the few characters I just wrote look like they were written by the same person as the ones in the love letter?”

Staring at the words Chen Nan had written, Lan Yuqin was dumbfounded and it took her a while to snap out of it.

The characters were strong and powerful, full of vigor and righteousness. Compared with those on the love letter, they were heaven and earth apart, the difference was more than just slight.

“Teacher, have you seen enough?” Chen Nan asked again.

“Ah?” Lan Yuqin returned to her senses, “Indeed… it doesn’t look like it.”

She was profoundly shocked. The characters that Chen Nan had written were so good that not even a master calligrapher could necessarily produce them. At least, she, Lan Yuqin, had never seen such fine calligraphy in all her years.

Lan Yuqin felt somewhat ashamed. Chen Nan’s handwriting was even better than hers, his teacher’s.

“So do you believe me now?” Chen Nan said.

Lan Yuqin gradually came to her senses and nodded, “Believe it, I believe it.”

“Since my suspicion has been cleared, I won’t keep you company any longer. So cheap!” Chen Nan waved his hand and turned to walk outside.

“Wait a minute!”

Lan Yuqin called out hastily.

Could this girl still not believe it?

Chen Nan turned around, somewhat puzzled, “Is there anything else?”

Lan Yuqin took three steps in two and rushed to Chen Nan’s front, saying, “Where did you learn this calligraphy?”

“Do you want to know?”

Lan Yuqin nodded eagerly, “Yes, yes!”

Chen Nan chuckled and gave her a brilliant smile, just when Lan Yuqin thought he was about to tell her, his expression suddenly turned cold, “I just won’t tell you.”

“You!”

Lan Yuqin pointed at him, feeling an urge to rush over and slap him a few times, but she bit back her anger because she still had something to ask of him. She smiled at Chen Nan amiably and said, “Chen Nan, how does the teacher usually treat you?”

How do you treat me?

In an extremely bad manner, extremely bad!

Chen Nan muttered to himself and nodded, “It’s okay, what about it?”

Lan Yuqin said with some excitement, “Your calligraphy is so good, what about teaching me?”

Chen Nan was stunned for a moment and looked at her, “Are you sick? You’re my teacher, you’re asking me to teach you, does that sound right to say out loud?”

Lan Yuqin’s eyebrows shot up, she went straight to him and grabbed his clothes, glaring, “Cut the crap, in a word, will you teach or not?”

“Will not teach!”

Chen Nan shook his head decisively.

Lan Yuqin’s eyes shifted, glaring at him, “I am your homeroom teacher, offending me won’t do you any good.”

Chen Nan really wanted to point at her nose and curse her ancestors for generations, despite being a teacher, she was threatening him, so shameless, “Do whatever you want, as long as I don’t do anything underhanded, I’m not afraid of ghosts knocking on my door.”

After saying that, Chen Nan turned and started walking towards the doorway.

“Stop right there!” Lan Yuqin stamped her foot in annoyance, “I won’t threaten you anymore, I’ll never threaten you again, just teach me! Hey, hey, hey, don’t go, stop!”

Lan Yuqin shouted, but unfortunately, Chen Nan’s figure had already disappeared at the turn.

“Don’t think you can get rid of me by just walking away, I won’t stop until I learn your calligraphy skills,” Lan Yuqin clenched her silver teeth, her determination set.

At that moment, in a corner outside the office, Jiang Xiaomi scratched her head in frustration and muttered, “How come this bastard is fine, how could this be? How could Lan Yuqin possibly let him go, this is unscientific!”

Jiang Xiaomi, unable to tear herself away, cursed Chen Nan non-stop in her mouth, ready to walk out of the corner, but at this very moment, she felt a shadow loom over her, and someone blocked her path. Jiang Xiaomi hurriedly looked up and her expression changed drastically.

Chen Nan!
