Chapter 65: Chapter 73 A Bad Fall

Chapter 65 -73 A Bad Fall

Both of them got up, ready to leave.

But just then, Lan Yuqin’s voice came from behind—

“Chen Nan, did you hurt yourself when you fell?”

The sudden voice startled Chen Nan, who quickly turned around and saw Lan Yuqin also on the wall, currently sticking her head out over the top, looking at him with some concern.

Looking at Lan Yuqin lying on the fence, Chen Nan felt an urge to burst into laughter; for a teacher, her current position was rather indecent.

“Teacher, I’m fine, just be careful not to fall yourself.”

Lan Yuqin glared at him, “You little rascal, what were you doing climbing the wall if you weren’t hurt? If you had been injured, what then? If you wanted to leave school, couldn’t you have just asked me for leave?”

Seeing the concern in Lan Yuqin’s eyes, Chen Nan chuckled, “Just this once, it won’t happen again.”

Lan Yuqin nodded, about to scold him a bit, but just then, she heard Su Qingqing’s voice—

“Dummy, who are you talking to?”

Following that, Lan Yuqin saw Su Qingqing and Liu Tiantian hand in hand, walking over together, and she immediately furrowed her brows and roared at Chen Nan: “Chen Nan! It’s bad enough you climbed the wall by yourself, but to actually bring them along!”

Su Qingqing was startled and quickly looked up. Upon seeing Lan Yuqin on the wall, she felt instantly deflated. She and Liu Tiantian were chatting just fine on their own, so why did she have to come over? Now they were caught red-handed by the homeroom teacher…

“Lan Teacher… Sister Qin… don’t be so serious…”

Su Qingqing blinked, looking pitifully at Lan Yuqin.

“Your cutesy act won’t work. Instead of taking the proper gate, you chose to climb the wall. What if an accident had happened?” Lan Yuqin looked at Su Qingqing, speaking sternly, “You all get back to school right now and come to my office!”

“Teacher, we’ll be right back; it’s you who should be careful and not fall,” Chen Nan suddenly interjected.

Lan Yuqin gave him a glare, “I’m standing on bricks. I won’t fall. Hurry up and get back… Ah!”

Before she could finish her sentence, Lan Yuqin let out a shriek. In the next moment, Chen Nan noticed she was no longer on the wall, and then came her pained cries of “Ouch.”

Chen Nan and the two beauties exchanged looks and called out, “Lan Teacher, you’re not hurt, are you?”

“I’m fine,” came Lan Yuqin’s frustrated voice.

“Really? You’re okay?”

“I’m really okay, hurry back to me in the office. Yikes… oh, my butt.”

The last part was spoken very softly, audible only to Chen Nan with his exceptional hearing. He chuckled and said, “Since that’s the case, we’re relieved. Just wait, and we’ll be right back.”

After speaking, Chen Nan, hand in hand with Su Qingqing and Liu Tiantian, walked away.

“Are we really going back?” Su Qingqing asked reluctantly in a low voice.

Chen Nan placed a hand on her shoulder and laughed, “Only a dummy would return! Let’s go grab a bite to eat first.”

Seeing the two hooking arms, Liu Tiantian pouted and reached for Chen Nan’s other hand, placing it on her own shoulder, “Hmph, cousin, you’re biased, you only like her and not me.”

Chen Nan felt helpless. He had gotten used to putting an arm around Su Qingqing’s shoulder, just like she enjoyed having him carry her.

“Qingqing and I are like siblings, so it’s natural for me to rest my arm on her shoulder. I didn’t want to take advantage with you, that’s why I didn’t.” Chen Nan made up an excuse on the spot.

Liu Tiantian, smiling mischievously, clutched onto Chen Nan’s arm, “What’s this about taking advantage? I want you to be my boyfriend!”

“This…”

Chen Nan gave an awkward laugh, “Let’s talk about that another time, shall we? Let’s go eat first.”

Liu Tiantian pursed her lips, somewhat dissatisfied, “Cousin, you’re not straightforward at all, not nearly as cute as your homeroom teacher.”

Lan Yuqin cute?

Chen Nan was speechless. The witch, cute? This girl had no clue about her schemes. However, thinking of Lan Yuqin’s recent antics, sprawled on the wall with her head poking out over the top, it did strike him as pretty funny.

…

After finding a restaurant and having a meal, Su Qingqing, holding a beverage, looked at Chen Nan, “Dummy, since we’ve already climbed out, sooner or later we’re going to be punished when we get back. Why don’t we hang out a bit longer?”

“Yeah, yeah, cousin, let’s just play a little longer,” Liu Tiantian also chirped in with twinkling eyes and a giggly smile.

These two girls really are like pigs not afraid of boiling water!

Chen Nan bitterly smiled to himself and nodded, “Suit yourselves, I’ve got no objections.”

As soon as he finished speaking, his phone rang.

After looking at the caller ID, Chen Nan frowned and handed the phone to Su Qingqing, “You do a fine job acting cute in front of her. You answer it.”

Su Qingqing was stunned for a moment but stepped back quickly when she saw the call was from Lan Yuqin. She shook her head like a rattle-drum and pouted, “Whoever picks up will get scolded. I’m not that foolish!”

Chen Nan turned his gaze to Liu Tiantian.

Too bad, before he could speak, Liu Tiantian shook her head, “Cousin, you answer it. She’s not my homeroom teacher…”

Gazing at the number on the phone, Chen Nan bit his lip and finally, with a resolve, slid his finger across the screen to accept the call and quickly said, “Lan Teacher, hello! Have you had dinner? If not, you should go eat; it’s not good to starve yourself. If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up the phone now…”
