The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 328: Chapter 327: New Beginnings in a Strange Place

After Gu Tingyu and Yiyi finished their meal, the two waved goodbye to Tao Cuizhu and the others.

”Yiyi, when are you going back to school for classes?” Before leaving, Cao Panpan couldn’t help but ask, she hasn’t seen Yiyi for a long time and was missing her.

Yiyi smiled and replied, ”I’ll be going back to school in a couple of days.”

”That’s good.”

Tao Cuizhu nodded in agreement, expressing concern over Yiyi’s long absences from school and fearing she might fail her final exams.

After Tao Cuizhu and the others left, Gu Tingyu walked back with Yiyi, ”I have to report to the new unit tomorrow, so I can only come back to see you during breaks.”

Yiyi nodded and said, ”Yeah, it’s already amazing that you can rest for so long recently.”

Gu Tingyu couldn’t resist ruffling the young girl’s hair and said, ”Next time I have a long holiday, I’ll take you out for a walk.”

”Okay.”

The two chatted quietly as they returned home.

Ding Yuejun saw them coming back and couldn’t help but smile, ”Why did you come back so early, didn’t stay out a bit longer.” She knew that Gu Tingyu would start working at the new unit tomorrow and wanted to give them space, but surprisingly they came back so soon.

Old Master Ding came over at this moment and said, ”I asked them to come back early.”

Ding Yuejun looked at the old man in surprise but did not ask further.

Old Master Ding then gestured to Gu Tingyu, ”Come to the study with me.”

Gu Tingyu said a word to Yiyi and followed Old Master Ding to the study.

Ding Yuejun, somewhat curious, looked at her daughter and asked, ”What does your grandpa want with Tingyu?”

Yiyi shook her head, ”I don’t know either, we’ll find out when they come out.”

Ding Yuejun shook her head, ”It’s probably about work, so let’s not ask further.”

Then she took Yiyi to the room, pulled out a bankbook from the drawer and handed it to her, saying, ”I haven’t prepared much, this is a gift for your engagement with Tingyu, you can buy some things you like.”

Yiyi hurriedly rejected it, ”Mom, what’s this for.”

Ding Yuejun forcefully placed the bankbook in her daughter’s arms, saying, ”Okay, just take it, otherwise mom won’t feel at ease.”

Seeing her mother’s insistence, Yiyi accepted the bankbook, though she won’t use that money.

Then the mother and daughter chatted quietly, mostly Ding Yuejun talking while Yiyi listened quietly.

Meanwhile, Old Master Ding looked at Gu Tingyu seriously and asked, ”Are you planning to go to Organization One?”

Gu Tingyu nodded, ”Yes, the transfer order has been issued.”

”Since you’ve decided, I won’t say much. However, Organization One is not easy to lead, you need to be attentive, and...”

Old Master Ding handed a folder to Gu Tingyu, saying, ”These are some messages I received; take a good look. It should be helpful for you, and there are a few people you need to pay special attention to, all introduced inside, just make sure to go through it thoroughly.”

”Thank you, Grandpa.”

Gu Tingyu accepted the folder and solemnly thanked Old Master Ding, understanding that these must be confidential files from the Ding Family and Old Master Ding seems to completely view him as family.

”Since you call me Grandpa, you’re like my grandson now, so no need for thanks.”

Ever since the engagement, Gu Tingyu had been calling him Grandpa along with Yiyi, and he truly considered Gu Tingyu as a grandson.

”Alright, that’s all for now, you should go out and talk to Yiyi, especially since you’re starting at the new unit tomorrow, make the most of your time.”

Gu Tingyu nodded and went out to find Yiyi.

By then, Ding Yuejun and Yiyi had finished talking, and seeing Gu Tingyu return, Ding Yuejun smiled and left the space for the young couple, heading to the kitchen.

At dinner, the family enjoyed a lively meal with the sumptuous dishes.

After a walk, Gu Tingyu and Yiyi returned home.

The next day, he went directly to report to the new unit.

”Tingyu, you’re here.”

Wei Zixiao smiled and waved at Gu Tingyu, putting his arm around his shoulder and said, ”Come, let’s go together.”

Gu Tingyu glanced at Wei Zixiao, dodged his hand and said lightly, ”Mind the image.”

”Tingyu, that’s too indifferent, having a girl now and forgetting your brother, aren’t we close?”

Ignoring him, Gu Tingyu walked forward.

”Alright, alright, I won’t touch you anymore.”

Helplessly, Wei Zixiao raised his hands and followed Gu Tingyu forward.

Gu Tingyu thought of something at that moment.

”Your uncle is also starting today, right?”

Talking about his uncle, Wei Zixiao was all smiles, ”Yes, what a coincidence, my uncle and I are quite in sync.”

Gu Tianyu knew Wei Zixiao had a good relationship with his uncle, smiled, and said no more. They soon arrived at the office.

Political Commissioner Lu saw them and smiled, waving, ”You’ve arrived, come in and fill out the forms first.”

Used to doing things briskly, Gu Tingyu and Wei Zixiao quickly completed the forms.

Political Commissioner Lu smiled at them, ”Great, I’ll take you to Organization One later.”

Considering their capabilities and backgrounds, he wouldn’t give them a hard time, especially since they will be partners; maintaining good relations is essential.

Upon arrival, Gu Tingyu and Wei Zixiao saw a neatly organized team standing ahead.

”Hello everyone, these are Colonel Gu and Lieutenant Colonel Wei, new to our place, Colonel Gu will lead you in training, welcome,” Political Commissioner Lu introduced loudly.

Applause rang out in neat unison.

Gu Tingyu kept his self-introduction brief.

Having always been Gu Tingyu’s assistant, Wei Zixiao gave a simple address and joined the team, surprised to find a woman among them.

Noticing his curiosity, Political Commissioner Lu introduced, ”This is Major Zhang Li; she was leading the training before you came.”

Wei Zixiao raised a brow, surprised a woman had been training this team, indicating her capability.

Turning to Wei Zixiao, Zhang Li glanced, said nothing, then focused on Gu Tingyu, her brow slightly furrowed.

Knowing a new leader was coming today, still, she felt uneasy, thus seeming colder than usual.
