The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 314: Chapter 313: Decision

After Gu Tingyu left, Yu Qiulan immediately smiled at Yiyi and said, ”Yiyi, let me help you tidy up first, and then we can be discharged soon.”

Seeing the enthusiastic Yu Qiulan, Yiyi was still somewhat unaccustomed.

Ever since it was revealed that her mother was Old Master Ding’s daughter, Yu Qiulan’s attitude had changed considerably, being much more attentive to both her and her mother. This was a good thing for her; it would be nice if everyone could get along peacefully and happily in the future. ”Okay, thank you, Auntie.”

Hearing this from Yiyi, Yu Qiulan quickly said, ”We’re all family. There’s no need for thanks. You’re not fully recovered yet, so be sure to rest well and leave everything else aside.”

Ding Yuejun came in and saw this scene, and couldn’t help but smile, ”Thank you for all the trouble, Qiulan.”

Previously, she had politely addressed her as ’Mrs. Gu,’ but Yu Qiulan directly started calling her in-law, saying that her previous way of addressing was too formal. But with her daughter and Gu Tingyu not yet married, she couldn’t bring herself to call her in-law, so she resorted to addressing her by name.

”Yue Jun, this is no trouble at all. By the way, is that young man next door ready?”

Upon hearing this, Ding Yuejun smiled, ”Xiao Wu is ready too. Now Pei Jin is going through the discharge procedures, and we’ll head back shortly.”

As they talked, Pei Jin returned and directly looked at Yiyi, saying, ”Young Master, shall we go?”

However, when they got downstairs, they saw Old Master Ding coming over with several people.

”Yiyi, Grandpa is a bit late, but just in time. How about I have someone escort you back?”

Old Master Ding first glanced at Ding Yuejun, then smiled and began speaking to Yiyi. Of course, he wanted to talk more with Ding Yuejun, but his daughter never showed a smile or spoke to him, so he could only spend more time with Yiyi.

Hearing this from Old Master Ding, Yiyi couldn’t help but say, ”Master has already sent someone to pick us up.”

Old Master Ding naturally saw the cars parked ahead and could only take a step back, saying, ”Then I’ll follow along behind you and escort you back.”

Yiyi nodded indifferently.

Standing off to the side, Yu Qiulan was a bit anxious, seeing Yiyi’s casual and carefree attitude, afraid that Old Master Ding might get angry. But she now realized that Old Master Ding was endlessly tolerant of Yiyi; she needn’t worry about anything. This showed the importance of Yiyi and her mother in Old Master Ding’s heart.

Once they arrived, Ding Yuejun carefully helped Yiyi out of the car.

As for Pei Wu, he went next door to recover with Guo Ming and Mo Ping.

”Yiyi, I’ll go make some food first. Later, let’s have a meal together with Master Guo and the others.”

Earlier, it was the people from the Yin sect who helped them return, so Ding Yuejun naturally had to show hospitality.

Before Yiyi could speak, Yu Qiulan had already chimed in, ”Yue Jun, go ahead and get busy. I’m here for Yiyi. But if you get too busy, I can help in the kitchen too.”

”No, no, I can manage on my own.”

After Ding Yuejun left, Yu Qiulan felt a bit awkward. Yiyi lay resting on the bed, and she sat there with nothing to do. She finally got up and said, ”Yiyi, I think I should go to the kitchen and help Yue Jun out. There are a lot of people for lunch, and probably a lot of dishes to prepare.”

Yiyi smiled and nodded.

With Yu Qiulan staying here, Yiyi also felt a bit uneasy. They didn’t have much to talk about, and sitting there doing nothing was indeed somewhat awkward.

But today, the house was indeed lively. After lunch, when they saw off the people from the Yin sect, members of the Chu family also came to visit Yiyi. This time, it was not only Jiang Yizi but also Zhuang Caixin, whom they hadn’t seen for a long time.

”Yiyi, how are you? Can you move around now?”

Hearing this from Zhuang Caixin, Yiyi nodded and said, ”Second Aunt, no worries, I’m much better now.”

”That’s good.”

Zhuang Caixin gave a smile but didn’t know what else to say, which left the atmosphere a bit silent. Fortunately, Jiang Yizi said a few words with a smile, and the moment of awkwardness passed.

After Jiang Yizi and her sister-in-law left, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but say to her daughter, ”Seeing your Second Aunt suddenly being so enthusiastic, I am not quite used to it. It seems that family background and power really do make a difference.” Her expression became somewhat complicated as she said this.

Seeing her mother like this, Yiyi couldn’t help but ask, ”Mom, what are you thinking now?”

After all, these changes were all because Ding Yuejun’s status had changed. Her mother’s attitude was the most important now. If she didn’t want to return to the Ding Family, Yiyi wouldn’t say another word to Old Master Ding. If she intended to acknowledge her ancestry, then Yiyi would support her mother’s choice.

Speaking of this, there was a hint of conflict in Ding Yuejun’s eyes.

”Yiyi, actually... I still hold some resentment towards Old Master Ding. Because of him, because of Chen Meilian, I’ve been harmed several times, and this time it even affected you and Xiao Wu.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi couldn’t help but say, ”Mom, this matter is Chen Meilian’s fault. As for Old Master Ding... Though he does bear some responsibility, he was unaware of what was happening. Moreover, since he learned the truth, he’s handled things quite well. We don’t have to worry about Chen Meilian causing trouble ever again.”

This is the aspect of Old Master Ding that Yiyi was most satisfied with: decisive action without hesitation.

”It’s precisely because of this that I can now tolerate him visiting you. Otherwise, I would’ve driven him away long ago.”

Hearing this, Yiyi couldn’t help but smile.

Ding Yuejun also chuckled softly, but soon her expression turned firm again, saying, ”I’ve made up my mind. We are going back to the Ding Family. Since I am the Ding Family’s eldest daughter, there’s no reason to leave a perfectly good home unclaimed and let it benefit others.”

Of course, she knew that Chen Meilian had a daughter, Ding Yating, and also knew of Ding Yating’s daughter, Shu Yunfang. Although she hadn’t yet accepted Old Master Ding as her biological father, she wouldn’t let Yiyi suffer in terms of status. Previously, people said Yiyi was reaching too high by being with the Gu Family. Now she wanted to silence those people completely.

Seeing that her mother had made a decision, Yiyi didn’t say much more, only stating, ”Mom, whatever decision you make, I’ll support you.”

After that, the mother and daughter talked about other things.

Since Ding Yuejun had made up her mind, when Old Master Ding came again, she was slightly more cordial and finally spoke a few words to him.

Although it was just a couple of sentences, Old Master Ding was overjoyed.

”Yuejun, after Yiyi recovers, will you... will you be able to come home with me?”

Old Master Ding knew he was being a bit hasty, but at that moment, he eagerly wished to bring Ding Yuejun and Yiyi back to the Ding Family as soon as possible. He wanted everyone to know that Ding Wenzhi’s eldest daughter had returned.
