Pokémon: My Parallel World Daughters Revealed

Chapter 345: Go to Bed Early, You Can Have Anything in Your Dreams (Membership Extra Chapter)

The video continued playing.

Click.

A single light came on over the stage.

Countless tiny points of light spread outward from the center like dandelion seeds scattered by the wind.

They reflected in Sabrina’s red eyes like shattered stars gathering themselves back together.

”Since you’re already here, don’t be in such a hurry to leave.”

A lazy voice suddenly came from behind her.

Sabrina spun around.

At some point, Asher had appeared leaning against the wall behind her.

He wore a white suit and the same half-black, half-white mask across his face.

”You’re late.”

Sabrina turned fully toward him.

”I’ve been behind you the entire time.”

Asher removed his top hat.

”You just didn’t notice me.”

Sabrina remained where she was.

”What are you going to perform?”

”A very, very small magic trick.”

Asher extended his right hand.

Slowly he closed it into a fist.

Then opened it again.

A tiny moon now rested in his palm.

Next, he opened his left hand.

A miniature golden sun appeared there.

Then he brought both hands together.

He kneaded the sun and moon like a lump of dough rolling them back and forth.

Again.

And again.

Until—

Pop!

He pulled a silver lollipop out from between his palms.

”For you.”

Asher held it out to Sabrina.

”When you’re in a bad mood, something sweet might help.”

Sabrina stared at the lollipop for several seconds.

Then she took it.

She unwrapped it and placed it into her mouth.

”How is it?”

Asher asked.

”Just an ordinary piece of candy.”

Sabrina spoke around the lollipop.

”Even if you can create things out of thin air, it’s nothing particularly impressive to me.”

”I can do something like this too.”

”You’re right.”

Asher smiled.

”None of this is especially unusual to you.”

”After all, compared to psychic powers, what a magician can do is hardly worth mentioning.”

”So?”

Sabrina looked at him.

”Is that all your performance amounts to?”

”Of course not.”

Asher took one step forward.

The distance between them instantly shrank to less than half a meter.

”For a magician...”

”Only producing something that nobody else can create counts as real magic.”

Sabrina raised her eyes toward him.

”For example?”

”Your smile.”

Sabrina froze.

Almost instinctively, she raised a hand to touch her own face.

Because of the lollipop in her mouth—one corner of her lips had been gently pushed upward into the faintest curve.

”See?”

Asher smiled.

”I made it appear.”

[May]: Uuuugh, I can’t take this anymore! Somebody save me! This is so sweet I’m rolling around on the floor!

[Iris]: I’m dead.

[Bianca]: I’m dead.

[Iono]: I’M SO DEAD I’VE DIED TWICE!

[Mallow]: So this is how magicians pursue someone?! Who wouldn’t get completely swept away by a scene like this?!

[Lorelei]: This scene... Tsk, tsk. Even those of us just watching are reacting like this. The fact that Sabrina herself didn’t fall for him on the spot already shows impressive restraint.

[Gardenia]: Who wouldn’t fall for someone pursuing them like this?!

[Caitlin]: True. Even I’m a little tempted.

[Shauntal]: Caitlin finally said what she was really thinking.

[Caitlin]: No. I said nothing.

[Skyla]: New material acquired. Screenshot saved.

[Lorelei]: Sabrina is probably bright red in reality by now.

[Sabrina]: ...

[Lana]: Miss Sabrina, stop watching the video and focus on what’s happening in reality!

[Skyla]: Exactly, exactly! Just join my Master and the others already!

[Brock]: DAMN IT! I absolutely have to learn this flirting technique! @Asher, I’m begging you, Grandmaster! I genuinely want to learn this one!

[Steven]: Brother Asher’s move here... I hereby name it ”The Magician’s Ultimate Finisher.”

[Raihan]: What kind of chuunibyou name is that? That’s so lame.

[Steven]: You simply don’t understand romance.

[Wallace]: Steven claiming he understands romance may be the funniest thing I’ve heard all day.

The video continued playing.

Over the next three months—

Sabrina’s appearances at Asher’s performances gradually went from ”occasionally”—to ”regular audience member.”

Late one night.

Saffron City Grand Theater.

Asher had just finished rehearsing the final act.

All the staff had already gone home.

Only a single lonely emergency light above the stage remained on.

Sabrina sat in the middle of the fifth row.

She seemed to have fallen asleep.

Asher quietly walked over.

He had just begun lowering his coat over her shoulders when Sabrina opened her eyes.

”Finished rehearsing?”

Her voice carried the faint huskiness of someone who had only just woken up.

”Did I wake you?”

Asher paused.

”Why didn’t you go home and sleep?”

”It’s cold in here.”

”You’re still here.”

”I’m only rehearsing a new act.”

”I’m not going to disappear.”

”I know.”

Sabrina sat upright.

”But I wanted to wait for you.”

Click.

The entire theater suddenly lost power.

In the darkness Sabrina’s voice sounded softly.

”...Idiot.”

”Hm?”

”I smiled just now.”

”Oh.”

”Did you see it?”

”No.”

”It’s too dark.”

”Why don’t you smile one more time?”

”No.”

The next second—

A very soft sound came from the darkness.

Mwah.

”Now you’ve seen it.”

[May]: AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! THEY KISSED!!! THEY KISSED, RIGHT?!

[Iris]: I HEARD IT! THEY DEFINITELY KISSED! THAT ”MWAH” SOUND!!

[Bianca]: I’VE TWISTED MYSELF INTO AN ARBOK ON MY BED! HELP! THIS IS WAY TOO SWEET!

[Shauntal]: Ice-cold on the outside, but secretly launching surprise attacks in the dark... Wow. So this is what Saffron City’s Psychic Queen is really like.

[Sabrina]: ...All of you, shut up.

[Dawn]: ...Um, Sabrina? Your face is really red.

[Valerie]: That blackout happened at suspiciously perfect timing. It’s hard not to suspect that a certain someone arranged it in advance.

[Lorelei]: Is there even anything to suspect? Asher obviously planned the entire thing. First, he got Sabrina accustomed to watching him rehearse. Then he deliberately arranged for the theater to lose power. And finally, in the darkness, everything naturally led to... tsk, tsk. His schemes run deep.

[Brock]: I’M KNEELING! I’M ACTUALLY KNEELING! @Asher, Grandmaster, please teach me your secret techniques for pursuing women! Just one move! One single move would be enough to benefit me for the rest of my life!

[Asher]: Fine. Listen carefully.

[Brock]: I’M ALL EARS!

[Asher]: First, find a comfortable bed. Then find a comfortable blanket. Then lie down on the bed.

[Brock]: And then I’ll be able to win over beautiful older women?!

[Asher]: Go to bed early. You can have anything you want in your dreams.

[Brock]: ???????

[Misty]: Pfft.

[Raihan]: Hahahaha! I knew it!

[Leon]: Brock took a critical hit and fainted instantly!

[Iris]: That’s so tragic... But it’s also way too funny! Mr. Asher really went straight for the heart with that one.

[Steven]: I’ve learned this technique. Find a comfortable bed. Find a comfortable pillow. Close my eyes and go to sleep early—then I can meet Diancie in my dreams! Thank you, Brother Asher!

[Asher]: Steven, you’re beyond saving.

[Wallace]: He was beyond saving a long time ago.
