Pokémon: My Parallel World Daughters Revealed

Chapter 321: Poor Mewtwo, It’s Already Being Targeted Before It’s Even Born (Membership Extra Chapter)

The video continued playing.

After Steven removed his hood, Selene stared at him blankly for a full five seconds.

Then she turned around and walked away.

”Goodbye. Sorry for the disturbance. The Sun-Moon Group currently has no need for this services.”

”Wait, wait, wait!”

Steven hurriedly reached out.

”Niece Selene, you just accepted my investment of three hundred million League Coins, and now you’re turning your back on me?! Where is the justice in this world?!”

Selene planted both hands on her hips and replied with complete confidence:

”Uncle Steven, if you genuinely wanted to invest, couldn’t you have just said so openly?”

”Disguising yourself like this on purpose clearly demonstrates a lack of trust in the Sun-Moon Group!”

”Sigh, Niece Selene, you’ve misunderstood me.”

Steven tugged at his cloak.

”Think about it.”

”As the founder of a top-class corporation, once you succeed, won’t you eventually have to tell the world the story of how you built your business?”

”A mysterious wealthy investor suddenly appears, tells your future, and casually invests three hundred million.”

”Wouldn’t that make for a legendary opening Chapter to the Sun-Moon Group’s founding story?”

The moment Selene heard the words ”legendary opening,” she immediately turned around and ran back.

”All right, Uncle Steven!”

”You’ve successfully convinced me!”

”Let’s sign a strategic investment agreement immediately!”

As she spoke, Selene pulled a document tied with a pink ribbon from her schoolbag.

Steven accepted it with great interest.

”You actually carry investment agreements around with you?”

”This is called professionalism.”

Selene proudly patted her chest.

”Rule Number One for the founder of the Sun-Moon Group: when an opportunity appears, the contract must arrive before the opportunity does.”

Steven looked through the contents of the agreement.

His eyes immediately lit up.

Not only was every clause thoroughly considered, but the allocation of both risk and profit was fair and reasonable.

It was difficult to imagine that this had been written by an eight-year-old child.

Steven decisively signed his name.

At this point, he was starting to think that his three-hundred-million investment might genuinely earn him a fortune one day.

After signing, Steven pulled out another contract from inside his clothes and handed it to Selene.

”Actually, the main reason I called you here today was this.”

”A land-use agreement for the future headquarters of the Sun-Moon Group.”

”It’s in central Saffron City, close to Saffron Gym, with excellent transportation access.”

”An exceptional commercial site like this might only appear once in a century.”

Selene’s eyes were already starting to glaze over with excitement.

Aurelia finally couldn’t stay silent any longer.

”Uncle Steven, isn’t this a little too valuable?”

”We...”

”Niece Aurelia, don’t overthink it.”

Steven patted her shoulder.

”Your dad is the one paying for it anyway.”

”I’m just helping him choose a location.”

Selene immediately hugged the plans even tighter and refused to let go.

”Big Sis, Dad is paying and Uncle Steven is doing the legwork.”

”All we have to do is make the company bigger and stronger.”

”Wouldn’t rejecting this now actually be kind of rude?”

”We need to confirm it with Dad first.”

Aurelia didn’t immediately agree, but her tone had clearly softened.

”Until we’ve asked him directly, you can hold on to the contract, but you’re not allowed to sign it.”

”Then let’s go find Dad right now!”

Selene hugged the stack of documents and grabbed Aurelia.

The two girls instantly teleported away.

”Uncle Steven, wait here for a bit!”

”We’ll be right back!”

Steven stared at the spot where the sisters had disappeared. ℯ

Then he lowered his gaze toward the already signed investment agreement in his hands.

He couldn’t help clicking his tongue.

”Those two little nieces really are exactly like Brother Asher.”

”Are they?”

The lazy voice behind him sent a chill straight down Steven’s spine.

He slowly turned around.

At some point, Asher had appeared directly behind him, holding a cup of iced coffee.

”B-Brother Asher!”

”When did you get here?!”

”Right around the part where you said ’legendary opening.’”

Asher took a sip of iced coffee.

”That story rolled off your tongue pretty smoothly.”

”Looks like you’ve practiced this kind of thing quite a bit.”

Steven chuckled.

”How can you call that lying?”

”It’s called reasonable packaging.”

”When you were pursuing Sister-in-law back then, didn’t you also—”

Asher raised one hand.

Steven automatically swallowed the rest of the sentence.

”Enough.”

Asher sat down on a nearby bench and patted the space beside him.

”Sit.”

”I need to talk to you about something.”

Steven removed his cloak and sat properly beside Asher.

For once, his expression became serious.

”What is it, Brother Asher?”

”You’re making this sound awfully formal.”

Asher didn’t answer immediately.

Instead, he pulled a small notebook from inside his clothes and leisurely flipped to a particular page.

”Team Rocket has recently been conducting a cloning project.”

”Did you know about it?”

Steven frowned.

”Cloning?”

”What are they trying to clone?”

”Mewtwo.”

Asher tossed his empty coffee cup into a nearby trash can.

”An artificial Pokémon cloned using Mew’s genetic material.”

”Team Rocket’s objective is probably to create an invincible artificial weapon.”

Steven nodded.

”I see.”

”Then should we raid the laboratory in advance and stop Mewtwo from being created?”

Asher froze.

”When did I ever say I wanted to stop Mewtwo from being born?”

This time—

Steven froze.

”You’re not stopping it...?”

”Then you mean...”

Asher didn’t answer.

He simply turned his head toward Steven.

Slowly the corners of his mouth curved upward.

Steven stared at that smile for three seconds.

Then—

An identical smile gradually appeared on his own face.

The previously clear weather somehow seemed to grow gloomy beneath the sheer sinister harmony of their expressions.

Pedestrians passing by began deliberately walking around them.

One parent holding a child’s hand even pulled the kid closer and hurried away.

”Mom, why are those two uncles smiling like that?”

”Don’t look.”

”Walk faster.”

[VIP Chat Group]

[Volkner]: Wait, what was that reaction just now? Why did both of them suddenly start smiling? And why does it look so sinister?!

[Raihan]: I can smell the conspiracy through the screen.

[Lorelei]: ...If we ignore those smiles for a moment, I think Asher’s intention is pretty obvious. He’s planning to steal Mewtwo and give it to his daughter, right?

[Bruno]: Hahaha! Giovanni probably couldn’t imagine in his wildest dreams that someone would already be eyeing his ultimate weapon before it even left the laboratory.

[Professor Sycamore]: They can actually perform cloning with the genetic material of a Legendary Pokémon... Cloning technology at that level is extraordinary. Team Rocket’s scientific capabilities are genuinely astonishing.

[Flint]: So Team Rocket works themselves to the bone creating a god... Only for Asher to snatch it away before they’ve even had time to enjoy the result? What kind of hellish joke is this?

[Jessie]: Damn it! Team Rocket’s secret research is being openly discussed like this?! Operation Capture Pikachu is temporarily suspended! Meowth, hurry up and inform the Boss!

[James]: May Boss Giovanni see this livestream in time. Amen.

[Meowth]: You two idiots, delete those messages right now, meowth! Why would the Boss need us to tell him?! Oh no! We’ve actually exposed ourselves, meowth!

[Ash]: Team Rocket?! You guys again? Pikachu, Thunderbolt!

[Team Rocket Trio]: Looks like Team Rocket’s blasting off again!

...
