Primordial Heir: Nine Stars

Two days passed in flash.

The pocket world became a crucible, forging the cadets into stronger versions of themselves. Monsters fell in droves, their essences absorbed, their points tallied. The competition was fierce, the stakes high, and each cadet pushed themselves to their limits.

°°°

Day One: Nero’s Hunt

Nero moved through the forest like a specter, his presence detection spreading outward, a net of awareness that encompassed the landscape. He had grown accustomed to the rhythm of the hunt—the search, the engagement, the victory. His score had climbed rapidly, each kill adding to his growing tally. But he was not satisfied. He sought stronger prey, battles that would test his limits and refine his control over his laws.

His first target was a colossal Golem, its body made of living stone, its core pulsing with molten energy. It was an A-rank monster, its strength immense, its durability nearly absolute. Nero engaged it with his Law of Earth, using gravity to slow its movements, to weigh down its limbs. The golem fought back, its fists crashing into the ground, sending shockwaves through the earth. Nero countered with his Law of Fire, his sword blazing with white-hot flames, cutting through the golem’s rocky hide. The battle raged for an hour, the ground shaking, the air thick with dust and heat. In the end, the golem crumbled, its core shattered, its essence absorbed.

His score rose to 400 points.

Next, he encountered a Thunder Drake, a massive serpentine creature that could control lightning. It was fast, agile, its attacks devastating. Nero met it with his Law of Lightning, their bolts clashing in a brilliant display of power. The drake was relentless, its strikes precise, but Nero was faster. He used his Law of Water to create a sheath of liquid around his blade, conducting the lightning, redirecting it back at the creature. The drake fell, its body convulsing, its essence flowing into him.

His score rose to 550 points.

He continued his hunt, each battle a lesson in control and adaptability. He fought a swarm of Shadow Wraiths, using his Law of Fire to burn away their darkness. He faced a Forest Titan, a massive creature of wood and bark, using his Law of Earth to shatter its roots, his Law of Lightning to scorch its branches. He combined his laws in ways he had never attempted before, creating devastating techniques that overwhelmed his enemies.

By the end of the first day, his score had reached 600 points. He was ahead of the others, but he knew the competition was far from over.

Day One: Khione’s Hunt

Khione moved through the frozen wasteland she had created, her ice wings carrying her high above the ground. She had been hunting for hours, her wand a constant companion, her expression cold and focused. She had ignored the weaker monsters, seeking only those that could challenge her.

Her first target was a Frost Wyrm, a massive serpentine creature whose breath could freeze the air itself. It was an A-rank monster, its power immense, its control over ice absolute. Khione engaged it with her own ice, their spells clashing in a brilliant display of cold. She used her Frozen World domain, surrounding the wyrm in a sphere of absolute cold. The creature fought back, its attacks powerful, but Khione was relentless. She froze its wings, shattered its scales, and pierced its heart with a lance of ice. The wyrm fell, its essence absorbed.

Her score rose to 400 points.

Next, she faced a pack of Frost Wolves, their bodies covered in thick white fur, their eyes gleaming with predatory hunger. She countered with a storm of ice shards, each one finding its mark. The wolves fell, their essences flowing into her.

She continued her hunt, each battle refining her control, deepening her understanding of ice. She created new spells, tailored to counter the monsters she faced. She froze the ground beneath a charging Rhino, shattering its legs. She encased a flock of Harpies in a dome of ice, crushing them with the pressure. She faced a giant Scorpion, its tail dripping with venom, and countered with a wave of frost that froze it solid.

By the end of the first day, her score had reached 500 points. She was close behind Nero, her determination unyielding.

Day One: Barak’s Rampage

Barak moved through the forest like a force of nature, his sword a blur of black lightning, his expression twisted with rage. He had been slaughtering monsters for hours, his hunger for power insatiable. His score had climbed rapidly, each kill fueling his growing madness.

He fought a Giant Scorpion, its tail dripping with venom. He countered with a wave of black lightning that turned its exoskeleton to ash. He fought a Hydra, its heads snapping at him from all directions. He severed each one with a single, precise strike, then finished the beast with a bolt of dark energy that consumed its body.

By the end of the first day, his score had reached 480 points.

Day Two: Nero’s Hunt

Nero’s hunt continued, his determination unwavering. He sought out the most powerful monsters in the pocket world, each battle a test of his skills. He fought a Chimera, its body a grotesque fusion of lion, goat, and serpent, using his Law of Fire and Earth to counter its attacks. He faced a Thunderbird, its wings crackling with lightning, using his Law of Lightning to match its speed. He battled a Lava Golem, its body made of molten rock, using his Law of Water to cool its core, his Law of Earth to shatter its form.

By the end of the second day, his score had reached 700 points.

Day Two: Khione’s Hunt

Khione continued her hunt, her ice spells growing more powerful, more precise. She faced a Frost Giant, its body covered in thick ice armor, using her domain to freeze it solid. She encountered a pack of Ice Drakes, their breath freezing the air, and countered with a storm of ice shards that pierced their scales. She battled a Shadow Stalker, its body made of darkness, using her ice to trap it, to shatter its form.

By the end of the second day, her score had reached 550 points.

Day Two: Barak’s Rampage

Barak’s rampage continued, his hunger for power growing with each kill. He slaughtered a pack of Werewolves, their bodies torn apart by his black lightning. He faced a Giant Serpent, its scales gleaming with venom, and countered with a wave of dark energy that consumed it. He battled a Colossus, its body made of stone, using his lightning to shatter its form.

By the end of the second day, his score had reached 580 points.

The two days had passed, and the competition was intensifying. Nero, Khione, and Barak were the top contenders, their scores astronomical. But Nero and Barak were heading in the same direction, their paths destined to cross. The clash was inevitable. Finally, something worthy was about to happen.
