Primordial Heir: Nine Stars

He canceled his Law of Water: Ice form, and let out a slow breath. The fight had been intense, a true test of his abilities. But he had emerged victorious.

He looked at the shattered remains of the Minotaur, a faint smile touching his lips. He had faced a worthy opponent and had proven his strength. He would continue forward, hunting stronger monsters, pushing his limits.

The competition was far from over. Well, it had just begun.

’’Ah! Time to meditate and recover before I continue my carnival.’’ Nero mumbled as he got ready to meditate.

The meditation was deep, restorative. Nero sat cross-legged amidst the frozen wreckage of the Minotaur’s demise, his breathing slow and rhythmic. The ambient prana of the pocket world flowed into him, rich and abundant, filling his cores, soothing his muscles, knitting his wounds. His super regeneration worked in tandem with the meditation, accelerating his recovery. Within half an hour, he was whole again—his bruises faded, his energy restored, his mind clear.

He rose to his feet, flexing his fingers. The shattered remains of the Minotaur lay scattered around him, a testament to the battle that had taken place. He glanced at his golden bracelet. The numbers flickered, then settled: 75 points. A single monster had earned him so much. The Minotaur had been powerful, a worthy opponent. The points reflected its strength.

A faint smile touched his lips. Quality over quantity. That was his strategy.

He raised his hand, and crystal wings of ice formed on his back. They were translucent, shimmering, each feather sharp as a blade. With a single beat, he launched himself into the sky, the wind rushing past him. The ground fell away, the forest shrinking to a patchwork of green and brown. He soared high, his presence detection spreading outward like ripples on a pond.

He could feel them. Two powerful presences, their prana signatures burning like twin suns. They were close, maybe a few kilometers to the east. He adjusted his course and flew toward them.

The terrain below changed, the forest giving way to rocky hills. He descended, his wings folding, and landed on a ridge overlooking a narrow valley. Below him, two massive figures stood in a clearing. They were ogres, each standing at least two and a half meters tall. Their bodies were thick with muscle, their heads crowned with two curved horns. One had red skin, its body radiating heat, its breath forming small jets of flame. The other had blue skin, its body emanating cold, frost spreading beneath its feet.

They noticed him.

The red ogre roared, a jet of flame shooting from its mouth. The blue ogre followed, a wave of ice spreading toward him. They were twins, their coordination perfect, their movements synchronized. Their combined power elevated them to the upper level of A-rank, equal to a Red Knight with years of experience.

Nero’s expression remained unchanged. He stepped forward, his body already shifting.

His dark blue hair turned white. His pupils gained the white cross. Ice formed along his limbs, his skin taking on a crystalline sheen. He had entered his Law of Ice form.

He launched himself at the red ogre.

The creature’s flames roared to meet him, but Nero did not flinch. His ice sword formed in his hand, a blade of frozen light. He swung, and the flames parted before him, the heat unable to penetrate his frozen form. He closed the distance, his sword aimed at the ogre’s chest.

The red ogre parried with a massive club wreathed in fire. The impact sent shockwaves through the air, the ground beneath them cracking. Nero was pushed back, but he used the momentum to spin, his sword finding the ogre’s flank. Ice spread from the wound, slowing the creature’s movements. ℯℯ𝘭.

The blue ogre attacked from the side, a wave of frost aimed at Nero. He twisted, his body shifting. His white hair darkened, his pupils shifting from cross to flame. He had entered his Law of Fire form. He raised his hand, and a wall of flame erupted, meeting the frost in a hissing explosion of steam.

He moved between the two ogres, switching forms with each strike. Ice against fire, fire against ice. He was a blur of motion, his body shifting seamlessly between elements. The ogres fought back with brutal efficiency, their coordination making them a formidable pair. The red ogre’s flames forced him to retreat. The blue ogre’s frost slowed his movements. They pressed him, their attacks relentless.

Nero’s lips curved into a faint smile. This was what he had been looking for. A true challenge.

He stopped retreating. He planted his feet, his body shifting into his Ice form, and met the red ogre’s charge head-on. His sword met the ogre’s club, the impact sending shockwaves through the air. He held his ground, his muscles straining, his will unyielding. The red ogre roared, its flames intensifying, but Nero did not give way.

He pushed forward, his sword cutting through the ogre’s guard. The blade pierced its chest, and ice spread from the wound, freezing the creature from the inside out. It stumbled, its flames sputtering, and fell.

The blue ogre attacked, its frost enveloping Nero. He switched to his Fire form, the heat melting the ice. His sword blazed with flame, and he struck, the blade cutting through the ogre’s defenses. It fell, its body consumed by fire.

Nero stood amidst the destruction, his chest heaving. His arm was twisted unnaturally, and his body was riddled with small injuries. But he had won. He had slain both ogres.

He looked at his bracelet. The points had increased significantly. The fight had been tough, but it had been worth it. He had pushed his limits, tested his forms, and emerged victorious.

The damage to the landscape was extensive. For fifty kilometers around, the ground was scarred, the trees destroyed. On one side, an inferno raged. On the other, a frozen wasteland. The clash of elements had reshaped the terrain.
