Chapter 6725: A Battle Between Top Experts

“So strong!”

The Netherworld Sectmembers couldn’t clearly see what happened, but they saw the old entity’s cleaved body and the axe returning into Song Changsheng’s hand.

“I have heard rumors about him, but I didn’t expect him to be this powerful. The world of cultivation isn’t as simple as I thought.” Baili Xukong felt conflicted.

He had earnestly believed that the Netherworld Sect could rule the world of cultivation, and it was only now that he realized that he had been too optimistic.

But Song Changsheng’s expression turned grim. He sensed that things wouldn’t be resolved that easily.

And indeed, the old entity’s cleaved humongous body split into two. Both looked identical, and they were of the same size as the original.

“Kikiki... You are strong, Song Changsheng, but it’s a pity that I’m your opponent. You don’t stand a chance against me.”

The old entity manifested countless blood-red spheres and hurled them at Song Changsheng

In response, Song Changsheng swung his arm and tossed his axe out at a speed far surpassing that of the old entity. A cold flash of light cleaved space.

Shoosh!

The two old entities were severed from the waist up, and their attacks disintegrated as well.

However, their severed halves quickly manifested into four old entities. Moreover, energy from the eight galaxies flowed into their bodies via the colossal formation, further strengthening them.

“What is this nonsense? He just splits up whenever he is killed. How can we win this battle?” Even the six neutral elders were in despair.

Kacha!

Cracking sounds suddenly echoed from where the four old entities stood.

Pshhh!

Space shattered. Immense martial power gushed out of the spatial rift to form a humongous martial power cage that imprisoned the four old entities. Then, the cage began to shrink.

The four old entities desperately tried to break free from the cage, and they even resorted to slaughter formations, but it was to no avail.

“What a formidable martial skill!” The Netherworld Sectmembers were awed.

The martial power cage had manifested instantly, but the shrinking happened much more slowly, so the crowd could see the process. It was Song Changsheng’s means, and it was beyond the comprehension of even experts like Baili Xukong and the six neutral elders.

Compressed in the martial power cage, the four old entities burst into a blood-red aura. The cage continued to shrink, leaving no space for the blood-red aura to manifest into a tangible form. It tried to swim out of the cage like frightened fish, but it was unable to escape.

Song Changsheng formed a seal with his left hand and directed his right hand at the old entity.

Boom!

The martial power cage shrank even faster than before.

Song Changsheng clenched his fist, and a deafening blast rippled through space. The previously humongous martial power cage had been shrunk into a tiny martial power sphere that was only the size of a head. At the same time, the old entity’s aura vanished.

Even the blood-red auras that had been surging in from the eight galaxies had vanished.

Everything seemed to have ended.

But before the crowd could celebrate, the old entity’s voice echoed from the tiny martial power sphere, “Not bad. What a delicious martial skill.”

His voice was mocking and energetic.

Just then, the martial power sphere glowed with a blinding light, and spirit power began seeping out from within.

Boom!

Boom!

...

A beam of martial power shot out from the martial power sphere, moving at a ridiculously fast speed toward Song Changsheng.

Song Changsheng quickly evaded the attack, but it was a close shave even for him.

“Is he devouring my martial power to use it against me?” Song Changsheng frowned. He had anticipated a difficult battle, but he didn’t expect the old entity to be such a tricky opponent.

“Hahahaha!” A creepy laughter echoed from behind Song Changsheng.

The old entity had flitted behind Song Changsheng. His body had reverted to the size of a normal human being, but he was now shrouded in martial power that shared the same aura as that of Song Changsheng’s.

The old entity morphed his hand into sharp claws and swiped at Song Changsheng.

Song Changsheng tried to dodge the attack, but the old entity was even faster.

Pu!

Song Changsheng spewed blood. Five deep gashes were left on his chest.

“Not bad. I am very fond of your power, though it’s a pity that I have used it up now. Why don’t you lend more of your powers to me?”

The old entity didn’t continue his attack despite having claimed the upper hand in the earlier clash. Instead, he licked Song Changsheng’s blood from his fingers. He looked confident in his victory.

Song Changsheng hurriedly retreated. He assessed the old entity from afar.

“What’s wrong? Are you not going to continue making your move? If so, I’ll be making mine.”

The old entity thrust his palm forth.

Song Changsheng sensed the space behind him being torn apart. A claw surged out from the spatial rift to strike him. He quickly dodged the attack.

The old entity thrust his palm once more, and another sharp claw appeared out of nowhere to strike Song Changsheng. It was as if the old entity’s attacks could transcend distance to strike Song Changsheng, no matter how far away the latter was.

Song Changsheng drew his axe to deflect the attacks. Even though his axe was small, his attacks seemed to amplify in range whenever he swung it, looking as if it could cleave anything in the world.

But when his axe clashed with the claws, the claws astoundingly devoured the axe’s energy to amplify its strength.

Boom!

The claws suddenly unleashed a shockwave, jolting Song Changsheng backward. He nearly failed to dodge the attacks from the claws.

“What a difficult opponent.” Song Changsheng spat. He turned to Chu Feng and snorted, “I’ll leave it up to you to save the world.”

Then, he vanished into thin air.

“Trying to escape?”

The old entity morphed his other hand into sharp claws as well, and then he rapidly ripped the surrounding space into shreds. However, Song Changsheng didn’t appear. This made the old entity’s heart lurch.

He could defeat Song Changsheng in a direct confrontation but couldn’t stop Song Changsheng from getting away. He couldn’t believe that his prey had escaped from him just like that.
