Chapter 6708: Promise With the Mysterious Entity

“Elder, are you Lord Netherworld God?”

It was a deduction from Chu Feng’s part.

He could tell that the other party was a true living entity and was extremely powerful, but his main body didn’t seem to be here. From that, he deduced that the other party was the rumored Netherworld God, and the sacred item was just a medium to reach the Netherworld God.

It just so happened that Chu Feng had come into contact with the Netherworld God’s power during the Netherworld God Bestowment’s trial. While the other party had concealed his aura well, Chu Feng still sensed familiarity from him.

His instincts were telling him that the other party was the legendary Netherworld God.

“It doesn’t matter who I am. You have to make a choice now,” the entity replied.

“A choice? Do I have to undergo a trial?” Chu Feng asked.

“That’s not it.” The entity refuted Chu Feng’s conjecture. “The Netherworld Embryo can be thought to be a bloodline itself; it is not just a supporting tool. Your Netherworld Embryo is close to perfection, and your body is capable of unleashing the Netherworld Embryo’s true prowess as well. However, you possess an even stronger bloodline. That’s why you have never tapped into the Netherworld Embryo’s power.”

In truth, Chu Feng also possessed the Four Symbols Divine Body, but because of the Dao of Specialization, he chose to focus on his Heavenly Lightning Bloodline. Due to that, his Heavenly Lightning Bloodline became exceptionally powerful.

“You aren’t a true Netherworld Sectmember, so why should I allow you to tap into the power sealed inside the gate?” the entity asked.

“Elder, I can relinquish the sacred item’s energy, but those outside are orthodox members of the Netherworld Sect,” Chu Feng said.

“Orthodox members? You’re talking about that half-assed bunch out there?” the entity sneered.

Chu Feng’s heart jolted. Something was wrong. This person looked down on all the Netherworld Sectmembers outside.

“They might have reached their current heights thanks to your grandfather, but this gate only appeared because of your grandfather’s formation and your appearance,” the entity said.

“Chu Feng, this fellow is after you,” Eggy said.

Chu Feng had also made sense of the situation. The Netherworld Sectmembers could have never awakened the sacred item, for it had appeared because of him. In other words, its target was him.

“Elder, what choice do I have to make?” Chu Feng asked.

“You won’t be able to use the energy stored inside the gate if you don’t use your Netherworld Embryo’s power, but this energy can indeed raise the cultivation of your people outside. Giving this energy to them benefits you as well. It’ll help you overcome your current ordeal. Since I am helping you, it’s only right for you to repay me,” the entity said.

“What do I have to do?” Chu Feng asked.

“I want you to do something for me.”

“What is it?”

“I haven’t decided yet. I’ll tell you when you come to the Ninth Galaxy.”

“All right.”

The entity laughed. “I don’t trust your promise.”

“How can I make you trust me?”

“Turn your Netherworld Embryo into poison. If you renege on your promise, it’ll claim your life,” the entity said.

“Don’t accept his promise!” Eggy exclaimed.

But Chu Feng nodded. “All right, I agree.”

He had his reasons for accepting the offer. In the first place, the other party could have easily killed him on the spot, which meant there was no place for Chu Feng to haggle. There was a chance that the entity had principles and wouldn’t make things hard for him even if he rejected the offer, but that would mean that he wouldn’t attain the sacred item’s power.

Without the sacred item’s power, he would have to pit his life against Jie Tianran, and that was likely to lead to his death. So, he had to obtain the sacred item’s power, no matter the cost.

Eggy was worried about Chu Feng, but no matter how he looked at it, it was more worthwhile to accept the offer.

Weng!

Two humongous blood-red formations that resembled skulls appeared in the distance. Their presence was extremely discomforting.

“Is he going to put those things into your Netherworld Embryo?” Chu Feng felt uneasy.

Those two formations were even larger than an average starfield; they must contain an unimaginable amount of power. Infusing that much power inside a small body could be fatal.

“It seems so.” Chu Feng nodded.

“Will you take one or both?” the entity asked.

“Can I choose that as well?”

It was obvious that Chu Feng would only choose one if he had a choice.

“If you choose one, you’ll have to do one thing for me in the future. If you choose both, you’ll have to do two things for me in the future,” the entity replied.

“Elder, will you only share a portion of the sacred item’s power with the Netherworld Sectmembers if I choose to take only one formation?” Chu Feng asked.

“I’ll give them all of the sacred item’s power, but your grandfather’s gu poison has permeated their souls. They are already under your grandfather’s control. Even if they become stronger, there are only two options for them. One is to commit suicide, and the other is to become your grandfather’s puppet and turn against you,” the entity replied.

“The hell! In the end, he’s still telling you to choose to take both formations!” Eggy was speechless.

Chu Feng had realized the dangers of the black bracelets, but he thought that he could find a solution. However, he didn’t think that this entity would lie to him. He might have underestimated Jie Tianran’s means.

“Elder, can you completely lift the gu poison if I choose to take on both formations?” Chu Feng asked.

“Hahahaha...” The entity burst into laughter before turning to Chu Feng. “What do you think?”

It was more than easy for someone of his stature to unravel Jie Tianran’s means.

“Elder, I shall owe you two favors,” Chu Feng said.

“Good.”

The two humongous formations simultaneously unleashed two blood-red pillars that gushed toward Chu Feng. The light pillars were initially larger than most realms, but they became increasingly smaller as they approached Chu Feng, eventually piercing into his Netherworld Embryo as two blood-red swords.

Chu Feng clenched his teeth. It was far more painful than he had imagined. His Netherworld Embryo was being deeply bound to his soul.

Unless someone of equivalent strength intervened, there was no way to separate his Netherworld Embryo from him. To put it in other words, the other party could now control Chu Feng’s life and death.

But Chu Feng didn’t regret his decision. He sensed the power in this world rousing like an awakened tide and racing out of the black gate.
