Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2328: Chapter 1766: World-Class Jerk

Under Mrs. Lin’s call, Lin Weiwei opened the door to her room. Facing her mother, her face was filled with resentment, and her eyes were on the verge of intolerance.

A daughter giving her mother this look means she’s really been pushed to her limit.

”I mean, do you really see your daughter as so undesirable that she needs to be with such a man?!” Lin Weiwei said with a voice full of grief and frustration.

Faced with her daughter’s expression, Madam Lin also felt a bit awkward and guilty, embarrassed.

The more Mrs. Lin thought about it, the more she felt dissatisfaction with that man too, but they had already agreed to the meeting. Besides, he was introduced by her good friend, and he’s right at their doorstep. It would be too impolite not to meet him. Both she and her husband are educated people, and they couldn’t lower themselves to do such a thing.

”At least meet him, after all, it was Mrs. Lin who introduced him, and he’s already here.” As Mrs. Lin continued, her voice grew softer, full of pleading.

Lin Weiwei remained silent.

Gathering her resolve, Mrs. Lin said, ”Just meet him today, and if you’re not satisfied, we can talk about it later. At worst... I won’t bring up arranged meetings with you again this year!”

With Mrs. Lin’s words, Lin Weiwei found this condition acceptable and reluctantly nodded.

”Oh, my little girl, please don’t keep a stern face, give your mom some face, and smile!” Mrs. Lin pleaded gently.

Lin Weiwei mechanically opened her mouth, revealing her white teeth, as if she was smiling.

Mrs. Lin couldn’t bear to watch and quickly nodded, ”Alright, alright, that’s fine.”

With that, mother and daughter walked towards the living room together.

Mrs. Lin went to call Lin Weiwei when Mr. Lin was opening the door.

When the door opened, there stood a man outside.

At first glance, Mr. Lin thought it was the parents of the other party who had arrived.

The man had a bit of a receding hairline and wore outdated clothes, making him look much older. In contrast, Mr. Lin himself looked more fashionable and youthful in his attire.

He almost called the man ”old brother.”

”Are you Mr. Lin? I’m Chen.” The man said cheerfully, making Mr. Lin finally realize who had come.

So this is the man who is seven or eight years older than my daughter, the one intended to be introduced as her partner!

My goodness! They’ve really found a father for my daughter!

Mr. Lin immediately felt dissatisfied, but still forced a smile on his face.

”Chen... ah, come in, please.” Mr. Lin adjusted his mood and invited him in.

Chen walked into the Lin Family, looking around with evident satisfaction towards the big house.

Then, Chen noticed Mr. Lin observing him, he smiled immediately and raised his hand, revealing a bag of green tangerines. However, the tangerines didn’t look good, like leftover goods from a fruit stand.

”I brought you some fruits, just a token.” Chen said with a smile.

Mr. Lin glanced at them, his mouth twitching, and dryly laughed, ”Look at you... just coming is enough, no need to bring anything...”

Visiting someone’s house for the first time, especially on a blind date, if not a fruit basket, buying several kinds of fruits would be better. Bringing a humble bag of tangerines already looks bad, and the worst part is, they seem leftover...

Mr. Lin, being a cultured person, despite feeling a bit displeased inside, didn’t show it on his face and led Chen into the living room.

This Chen, surprisingly, was rather oblivious, still discussing the bag of tangerines with Mr. Lin.

”Fruit is so expensive nowadays! Almost as costly as meat! Ordinary folks can hardly afford it. Look at what I bought, a real bargain, yes, it was two dollars cheaper.” Chen said with evident satisfaction.

He seemed to think that saying this would show he was efficient and knew how to live.

Mr. Lin responded ambiguously.

As they spoke, Chen continued glancing around the Lin family’s big house, commenting, ”Your house is really large, spacious, even with a few more people living in it, it wouldn’t feel crowded!”

”Indeed.” Mr. Lin replied casually.

”However, let me tell you, the area your house is located isn’t as good as mine. We live in an old community with just dozens of square meters, but it’s in the real city center, and in a few years once it’s redeveloped, we’ll get at least ten apartments in compensation. I’m a public servant, well-informed, and it won’t be long before the government relocates our area.” Chen said importantly.

As he spoke, Chen walked further inside, his uneven steps made Mr. Lin’s head ache.

Heard it’s a work-related injury, and Chen insists on not retiring early, considering it a badge of hard work and merit.

From the entrance to the living room, Chen was chatting nonstop about the value of his property.

Mr. Lin wasn’t particularly knowledgeable about it, casually replying, ”This place was bought by my daughter.”

With that, Chen discovered a new topic.

”Women going out every day, exhausting themselves, is not good—it’s better for Huaxia women to stay at home, doing chores and taking care of kids.” Chen wasn’t shy about sharing his views, ”Don’t you think?”

They arrived at the living room as he spoke.

And Mr. Lin happened not to feel like answering that question.

Mrs. Lin was sitting on the sofa, smiling and calling out, ”Ah, Chen’s here, you’re quite punctual.”

”Yes, Mrs. Lin, we who are in civil service do value punctuality.” Chen immediately smiled and said, sounding as if he were some big leader.

”Come over and sit.” Mrs. Lin invited Chen.

At this moment, Lin Weiwei and Mrs. Lin also entered the living room.

Actually, earlier, the mother and daughter had already heard Chen’s extremely chauvinistic words.
