Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 993: Chapter 993 Ready to Go

At this moment, Officer Lin Yu was in his own office, facing the computer, looking at the newly published regulations regarding the position of Candidate Great Affairs Officer on the group’s internal network.

His expression remained calm as water.

”These new regulations have appeared, with a ’deadline’ for applications, definitely the handiwork of my mentor!”

Officer Lin Yu’s demeanor was unruffled, but his heart swelled with a burning passion and gratitude.

The mentor had really spared no effort for him!

”How foolish I was in the past, overly concerned with my own feathers, insisting on fairness with others from time to time—I was so afraid that people would say my achievements only came from the mentor’s help.”

”So, I rebelliously went against my mentor’s arrangements many times, refusing the kindness he offered... I don’t know how much of his painstaking efforts I’ve let down!”

”And my mentor, always without complaint or regret, supporting and helping me, waiting for me to come to my senses,” Lin Yu felt a wave of emotion in his heart.

”This year, my mentor has lifted his protection, showing me the true cruelty of the workplace!”

”Just as the mentor said, existence is reasonable—why should I resist?”

”I clearly have these resources, yet I am unwilling to accept them, sometimes even discard them—it’s truly foolish.”

”The mentor is right, what matters is not how you get it, but what choices I make after obtaining it! What actions I take!”

Officer Lin Yu’s gaze was resolute, ”This time, with my mentor’s help, I will secure the position of Candidate Great Affairs Officer!”

”I will also prove that I, Lin Yu, am fully deserving of that position!”

After his reflections, Lin Yu’s thoughts drifted to Bai Xiaosheng.

”In fact, you also don’t entirely refrain from external assistance—Mr. Xiahou Qi is your protector in the background.”

”Accepting help from my mentor makes it truly fair between you and me.”

”Only this time, I am destined to outdo you by a measure!”

Officer Lin Yu was brimming with confidence and looked towards his assistants, Gao Peng and Liu Yan.

They were already busily organizing documents.

In fact, they had almost completed the preparations, but Lin Yu had repeatedly demanded a careful review to ensure everything was flawless and without any oversights.

”After the meeting ends, I will go register my existing achievements and incidentally report the issues with Lu Zhixin and Zhao Beiqing. After the verification on Monday, these achievements will become definitive. I, Lin Yu, will be the undisputed number one Affairs Officer and Candidate Great Affairs Officer!”

Lin Yu was also somewhat excited.

He again focused on the computer, paying attention to the detailed content of the regulations coming out of the meeting.

Over at Bai Xiaosheng’s side.

The taxi crawled forward at a snail’s pace, but it was very steady.

Bai Xiaosheng asked how long it would take, and the driver said it would be about an hour or two.

”With nothing else to do, might as well get some proper work done.”

Bai Xiaosheng had borrowed a laptop from Lin Weiwei, placing it on his lap.

He intended to organize his existing achievements and also prepare a report on the issues with Lu Zhixin and Zhao Beiqing, to be submitted for registration once he arrived at the company.

Inside Weiwei’s laptop were detailed records of past cases.

This girl was meticulous, categorizing everything systematically, with crystal clear records that made searching straightforward.

However, Bai Xiaosheng didn’t really need it.

Everything was in Bai Xiaosheng’s head—the big picture, down to a single piece of data, he could summon it at will.

Bai Xiaosheng controlled his breathing and placed his hands on the laptop keyboard.

Then, his fingers flew into action.

A rhythmic sound began to emerge continuously, resonating with a certain ultimate beauty.

It was the sound produced when typing on a keyboard at a certain speed, and Bai Xiaosheng’s hands danced across the keys like ballet on fingertips.

First, he typed out text, then inserted charts and images as required.

When Bai Xiaosheng was in full flow, the speed at which he worked could match that of ten people.

That’s why, sometimes when he urgently needed something, he would prefer to do it himself.

Hearing this sound, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying just glanced over, their eyes revealing astonishment but not overwhelming surprise.

Over the past year, having witnessed it frequently, they have come to regard Bai Xiaosheng’s ”unique skill” as normal.

Just in terms of typing speed, Lin Weiwei had made a special comparison, and even professional shorthand typists probably didn’t have two thirds of Bai Xiaosheng’s speed.

And that wasn’t even Bai Xiaosheng at his best.

Moreover, shorthand only requires recording what others say, without the need to think.

The fact that Bai Xiaosheng could type while thinking was truly frightening.

As the driver, stuck in a dull moment in time, heard the noise, he thought it was coming from his car. He listened around and then turned his head to see Bai Xiaosheng typing on the keyboard, which startled him.

”My goodness, that’s so fast!”

Even in the midst of his ”busyness,” Bai Xiaosheng could still manage to lift his head and give the driver a faint smile in response.

”Nothing special, just familiar with it.”

Stuck in traffic for two hours, Bai Xiaosheng didn’t waste a moment, finishing all his work and then having Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying check it.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying, one staring at a computer, the other at a phone, ostensibly checking the work, but in reality, after going through it, couldn’t find a single punctuation mark to change.

”I really can’t find anything to change,” mumbled Lin Weiwei.

”Sometimes I really feel like we’re redundant, you doing this yourself is so much better than when we do it,” Lei Ying sighed.

”Cut it out you two, do you know how tiring this is?” Bai Xiaosheng sprawled in the back seat, rubbing his head.

”Dizzy.”

This sensation of a brain shutdown was uncannily accurate, given the existence of Red Lotus.

By now, the taxi was smoothly cruising along, finally having passed the congested section.

”I’ve been paying attention to the newly released details for the Candidate Great Affairs Officer, but the subsequent rules don’t seem to be a big issue. Xiaosheng, do you want to take a look?” Lin Weiwei said.

While the mobile phone also had access to the intranet, some features were unusable.

”Hmm, let me take a look,” Bai Xiaosheng replied, still sprawled out, he took out his own phone to check the information on the intranet, browsing through it.

The regulations were indeed numerous, over a dozen, but compared to the first one that had a time limit and required reporting and registration, the rest were inconsequential.

At least for him, there was no need for deliberate attention.

Eventually, the taxi stopped outside the headquarters building, and just as Bai Xiaosheng finished checking the last item, he sat up.

”This meeting to discuss the regulations for Candidate Great Affairs Officer is also over!” Bai Xiaosheng declared.

The three of them paid for the ride and headed straight for the building.

...

In Mr. Xiahou Qi’s office.

All the Senior Affairs Officers had left, except Shen Peishen and Zheng Honghu.

Mr. Xiahou Qi had other matters to explain to these two Senior Affairs Officers.

Inside, they were talking business, and outside stood Lin Yu, clutching a stack of reports.

He was waiting for Zheng Honghu.

As long as the performance was registered, and the issues with Lu Zhixin and Zhao Beiqing were logged, he considered himself secure.

However, inside, Xiahou Qi, Shen Peishen, and Zheng Honghu were still speaking.

Lin Yu had already been waiting two hours during the meeting, and didn’t mind waiting a bit longer now.

So, he settled down to wait.

Just as Lin Yu was waiting, a voice suddenly came from beside him.

”Officer Lin Yu, long time no see! Are you here for something with Elder Xia as well?”

Hearing this voice, Lin Yu’s eyes narrowed instantly and he turned to see the man who had left a deep impression on him!

”Officer Bai Xiaosheng!”

Lin Yu offered a smile.

”Since you also have business to attend to, it looks like I’ll have to queue up behind you,” said Bai Xiaosheng with a hint of wit.

Lin Yu looked at Bai Xiaosheng, his once rival, whom he had thoroughly defeated after Monday.

”Since you’re here to see Elder Xia, it must be more urgent than my matter, please, you first!”

Suddenly, Lin Yu felt like showing Bai Xiaosheng a bit of sportsmanship.
