Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

Mr. Coleman shook his head.

”Alright then, follow me.” Tommy headed toward the conference room where Aya Winters was waiting.

...

Melody Monroe played games for a while. By the time she looked up, the sky was nearly dark, and Evan Fairchild still hadn’t come back.

’He’s been off for so many days, he must be swamped with work. Otherwise, there’s no way he’d still be out this late.’

’I’ll wait another half hour. If he’s still not back, I’ll give him a call.’

Melody Monroe opened her web browser and was surprised to see Evan Fairchild’s name trending. She immediately clicked to see what it was about.

When the page loaded, it showed a photo of Aya Winters standing in front of the Starfall office building.

’Doesn’t Aya Winters still have a contract with Stellaris? Why would she go to Starfall?’ She immediately read the article’s content.

According to reliable sources, Aya Winters had already terminated her contract with Stellaris for a fee of over twenty million and was preparing to join Starfall. The picture of her at the Starfall building confirmed this information.

Rumor had it that Aya Winters might be secretly dating Evan Fairchild.

Melody Monroe shook her head as she read the news. ’This report is complete nonsense.’

’With Aya Winters’s level of fame, she could trend just by posting a selfie, let alone for a major event like this. There’s no way the media would let such a huge scoop go.’

Melody Monroe closed the webpage and continued to browse other things.

...

At Starfall, Tommy walked into the conference room.

Aya Winters had assumed Evan Fairchild was here and felt a little flutter of excitement. But when she saw who pushed the door open, the smile on her face froze.

”I’m Tommy, President Fairchild’s assistant. Miss Winters, do you see any issues with the contract? If not, let’s get it signed today.”

Aya Winters was deeply displeased, but she wasn’t in a position to say anything.

”As I just said, since we’ve all agreed to this partnership, both sides need to show some good faith. Aya Winters came all the way here in person today; surely she can at least meet with President Fairchild?”

”Mr. Coleman was in charge of this matter. Normally, he would be the one signing the contract with you as per company procedure. Now, I’m here to sign with you. Isn’t that a sufficient show of good faith?”

Jared Quinn was at a loss for words. ’How dare a mere assistant be so arrogant.’

”In that case, I don’t see any need to sign this contract.” Jared Quinn assumed Tommy was just throwing his boss’s weight around and wanted to take him down a peg.

’If this contract falls through, it wasn’t their side that should be worried.’

”Miss Winters, are you certain?” Tommy looked at Aya Winters, seeking her direct confirmation.

”I can make the decision on this matter,” Jared Quinn cut in.

Tommy stood up and gathered the contracts from the table. ”Alright. If that’s how it is, then we won’t sign.”

Aya Winters and Jared Quinn were both stunned!

In front of everyone in the room, Tommy tore the contract into pieces and walked out.

Mr. Coleman was dumbstruck.

President Fairchild hadn’t been in the office for a while, so Tommy was responsible for all company matters, big and small. From projects worth hundreds of millions down to signing a new talent, Tommy alone had the final say. Mr. Coleman had never seen him ask President Fairchild for instructions on anything.

So, Aya Winters’s contract really was just a trivial matter, not worth bothering President Fairchild over.

He finally understood where he had gone wrong.

He quickly chased after him.

”Go collect your final paycheck.”

”Tommy, I know what I did wrong. Please, just give me one more chance.”

”This is your only chance. Don’t let it happen again.”

”Yes, yes!” Mr. Coleman nodded again and again.

...

Back in the conference room, Aya Winters’s face was ashen with rage. It had been years since she had suffered such an indignity. ’A measly little assistant actually dared to give her an attitude.’
