Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK! There was a knock at the door.

”Get out!” Evan Fairchild snapped without even looking up.

Jasper Rockwell... was not about to get out. He simply pushed the door open and sauntered in, swaying his hips.

He was holding two glasses of milk. ”Evan, we single guys have to look out for each other. Here, have some milk! See? If I wasn’t so insistent on hanging around, who else would bring you a glass of milk at this hour? Who else cares about your nightlife like I do?”

Suddenly, the phone on the table began to ring.

’So, the woman finally realized her phone was missing!’

Just as Evan Fairchild was about to pick up the phone, he heard Jasper Rockwell speak.

”Tsk, tsk, tsk! ’My Precious Baby’!”

Evan Fairchild shot Jasper Rockwell a cold glare. As his eyes fell upon the illuminated phone screen, his expression suddenly grew somber.

”Let me guess... it must be Miss Monroe’s boyfriend. She’s already taken! So, President Fairchild, are you going to answer?”

Evan Fairchild picked up the phone and accepted the call.

”Mommy, good night!”

A small, sweet voice came through the phone.

Evan Fairchild’s brow furrowed.

Ian Monroe immediately sensed something was wrong. That wasn’t his mother who answered the phone.

”You bad man! Why do you have my mommy’s phone!” In an instant, Ian Monroe’s tone shifted from that of a sweet child to a fierce little wolf cub.

”Is your mother Melody Monroe?”

”Yes! You know my mommy?” Though the little boy’s tone wasn’t as aggressive as before, he was still wary.

”Your mother misplaced her phone. I’m waiting for her to come and retrieve it.”

’Oh, so that’s what happened.’ Ian Monroe felt a little embarrassed. ”Thank you.”

”You’re welcome.”

Ian Monroe hung up and sat on his bed, clutching his watch, all sleepiness gone. He had to wait for his mother. He wouldn’t be able to sleep soundly until she got her phone back and he could hear her voice.

Evan Fairchild put the phone down, his expression as cold as frost.

’That child...’

Holding the milk, Jasper Rockwell didn’t dare to breathe a word. He had heard the voice on the phone.

’Miss Monroe has a child! This... What unfortunate timing.’

”Evan, here, have some milk,” he said, holding out a glass to Evan Fairchild.

Evan Fairchild didn’t even bother to spare him a glance, returning his attention to the files on his computer.

”Evan, maybe Miss Monroe adopted him. She looks so young, how could she possibly have a child that old! Or maybe the kid’s father is dead, and Miss Monroe is raising him all on her own. This is exactly when she needs someone to dote on her and take care of her. If you swoop in now, you can capture her heart.”

Suddenly, the phone rang again.

Jasper Rockwell’s eyes immediately shot to the caller ID.

’Talia Mercer. Phew, thank goodness. That name looks normal.’

Evan Fairchild picked up the phone and answered the call.

Melody Monroe breathed a sigh of relief when the call connected. ”Um, hello? That’s my phone. I seem to have misplaced it.”

”Shangfeng Towers, Building 6, 2601. Come get it yourself.”

”P-President Fairchild?” Melody Monroe froze. ’How did her phone end up with Evan Fairchild?!’

Evan Fairchild hung up, placed the phone on the desk, and looked up at Jasper Rockwell.

Jasper Rockwell was still sipping his milk when his eyes met Evan Fairchild’s gaze. He jolted and shot bolt upright.

Evan Fairchild stood up, grabbed Jasper Rockwell by his clothes, dragged him to the entrance, opened the door, and threw him out.

Still holding the milk glass, Jasper Rockwell stared dumbfoundedly at the closed door.

Three seconds later...

He started pounding frantically on the door!

”Evan Fairchild! If you’re going to kick me out, at least give me my car keys!”

The door opened, and a set of keys was tossed out.

Jasper Rockwell scrambled to catch them, then looked down at his own outfit: swim trunks, a tank top, and flip-flops...
