Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

”Miss, I have to admit, your method of getting close to me is quite novel. You’ve successfully caught my attention!” Evan Fairchild suddenly loomed over her.

Melody Monroe: ’What kind of cringey lines are these! Aren’t they totally outdated? Even domineering CEO novels don’t use lines like this anymore!’

The man’s hand fell on her back, and a shiver ran down her spine.

She panicked!

’What kind of weirdo have I run into!’

”What are you doing! Let me go! You pervert!”

Evan Fairchild pinned Melody Monroe’s hands tightly. He wanted to see just how long this woman was going to play coy!

Suddenly! The elevator stopped, and the lights inside flickered a few times.

”The elevator’s broken again!” Melody Monroe cried out.

Evan Fairchild released Melody Monroe’s hands and turned to press the floor buttons.

Melody Monroe immediately spun around, clutching her clothes. The man was so tall she hadn’t even gotten a clear look at his face. But for some reason, the sight of his back seemed a little familiar.

’Still, his personality is absolutely despicable!’

Suddenly, the elevator plummeted, and Melody Monroe’s face went pale with fright.

”Now do you believe me! The elevator really is broken! I was already out of here! I was just trying to be nice and warn you, but you dragged me back in. How could I be so unlucky!” Melody Monroe roared at him.

Evan Fairchild quickly pressed all the floor buttons. Even from behind, he exuded a deep, unshakable calm.

”Ah! We’re going to die, we’re going to die! What do we do?!” Melody Monroe shrieked. ’I haven’t even had a chance to enjoy my new life!’

’Is it really going to end like this?’

”Shut up!”

Melody Monroe was terrified. She grabbed onto the man’s clothes and hugged him tightly.

Evan Fairchild froze for a second. He didn’t push her away. He could feel her small frame trembling violently in his arms. He raised his arm, pulled her into his embrace, and held her tight.

The plummeting elevator suddenly jolted, then stabilized.

The elevator doors opened. A crowd of people stood outside, and their eyes all went wide when they saw the scene inside.

Evan Fairchild was holding a woman in his arms!

”Did it stop?” Melody Monroe asked from within Evan Fairchild’s embrace, her eyes squeezed shut, not daring to lift her head.

”It’s over.”

Melody Monroe finally lifted her head, only to discover a crowd of people standing right in front of them, with two blocking the very entrance to the elevator. She froze.

”President Fairchild!”

”President Fairchild, are you all right?”

The onlookers finally snapped out of their shock.

”The elevator experienced a sudden malfunction, which has now been resolved. On behalf of the hotel, I offer our sincerest apologies!” the hotel manager said, rushing forward to apologize.

Evan Fairchild released Melody Monroe and stepped out of the elevator.

’President Fairchild?’ Melody Monroe slowly raised her head and looked at the man.

With just one look, her blood ran cold.

The expression on her face was one of pure horror, even more so than during the elevator malfunction moments ago.

’Evan Fairchild! Of all people, she had run into Evan Fairchild here!’

Evan Fairchild pulled the stunned Melody Monroe directly out of the elevator, took off his suit jacket, and draped it over her shoulders.

The people standing by stared blankly at the scene for a moment before quickly averting their gazes.

Although the woman’s messy hair obscured her face, making it impossible to see her features, judging by her figure alone, it was clear President Fairchild lived up to his reputation for being exceptionally picky.

Melody Monroe stood stunned for a few seconds, then suddenly spun around and bolted! She ran with such speed it was as if a man-eating beast were chasing her.

Evan Fairchild watched her fleeing figure, his brow furrowing once more.

’Am I really that scary?’

’Then again,’ he thought, ’I might have been a bit out of line in the elevator.’
