Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

Raymond Ford immediately nodded. ”Director, don’t worry. I’ll definitely get it this time.”

”Alright, positions everyone! Action!”

Raymond Ford took a deep breath and composed herself. ’A scene this simple... I absolutely cannot NG a third time!’

She slowly raised her head. Melody Monroe was already watching her. The moment their eyes met, a wave of panic washed over her again!

Watching Raymond Ford’s reaction, a flicker of amusement flashed in Melody Monroe’s eyes.

’If Raymond Ford hadn’t done anything to wrong me, why would she act like this?’ She was growing more and more suspicious that Raymond was connected to the incident with the gown. Perhaps she even had a hand in her injury.

”Cut!” Director Wallace snapped. ”Raymond Ford, what is wrong with you today? Did Hailey Paige’s bad luck rub off on you?”

Hailey Paige, who had been enjoying the show from the sidelines, stiffened and immediately shot back, ”I’m not the one who can’t act. What does it have to do with me? If you haven’t done anything wrong, why can’t you look someone in the eye?”

Raymond Ford was at a loss for words. ”Melody and I are too close. Looking at her like this keeps making me break character.”

”Break character? That’s a convenient excuse,” Hailey Paige chimed in.

Raymond Ford didn’t continue to argue with Hailey Paige. ’All boobs, no brain—that’s Hailey Paige to a T. Arguing with her is beneath me.’

Hailey Paige had never been able to stand Raymond Ford’s pretentious act, but she could never find an opportunity to take her down a peg.

No comparison, no pain. As the female lead and the second female lead, it was inevitable that they would constantly be compared. Hailey Paige knew that she currently couldn’t match Raymond Ford in either popularity or status.

Just seeing Raymond Ford’s phony, holier-than-thou act made her sick.

Now, her mood had improved considerably. At least she had Raymond Ford NGing right along with her.

”I’m so sorry, everyone. I really can’t seem to get the feel for it. I’m very sorry.” Raymond Ford immediately apologized to the crew. ”Director, may I make a small request?”

”What is it?”

”When we’re filming, could you not have Melody Monroe look directly at me?”

”Melody, you don’t need to make eye contact with Raymond Ford. We just need her close-up,” Director Wallace said, lowering his requirements.

Sometimes actors run into this kind of situation. They can nail a scene with an incredibly difficult emotion in a single take, yet get stuck on a completely insignificant one they just can’t seem to get right.

”Alright.” Melody Monroe nodded.

’If I don’t look at her, I wonder if she can escape her own guilty conscience. Will her emotions return to normal and stop being affected?’

”Positions! Action!”

This time, Melody Monroe didn’t look at Raymond Ford. Raymond tried to get into character.

’This time, this time it’ll be fine!’

The moment she looked up at Melody Monroe, an image flashed through her mind: Melody’s face covered in blood as the crew helped her off set. She gasped and stumbled back a step.

When she looked back, Melody Monroe was watching her with a puzzled expression, and only then did Raymond realize she had lost her composure.

The others on set were also staring at her, wondering what had just happened to provoke such a strong reaction.

”See! I told you she has a guilty conscience!” Hailey Paige sneered again. ’So Raymond Ford has days like this, too. I’m not about to let a golden opportunity like this slip by.’

Raymond Ford’s palms began to sweat. ’I can’t film anymore today. I’m probably going to end up in the same boat as Hailey Paige.’

Just as Director Wallace was about to fly into a rage, Raymond Ford suddenly clutched her forehead, her body swaying as if she were about to collapse.

Leah Young rushed forward to support her. ”Raymond, what’s wrong? Is your low blood sugar acting up again?”
