Holding Their Own Space, the Family Returns to the Apocalypse

238: It’s so addictive!Ai Yue leaned back in her chair, hands clasped behind her head, a look of contentment on her face.

”Yes, in the Apocalypse, to have such a meal is truly irresistible.” Ai Yue licked her lips.

”By the way, where are Mom and Dad?” Ai Yue asked casually.

”Uncle and Aunt? They were called away early this morning. Someone said they’d admired them for a long time and wanted to spar!” Ye Rui said nonchalantly.

Hearing this, Ai Yue ’swished’ her eyes open, stood up, and said with a serious expression, ”Admired for a long time? Spar?”

”Yes, is... is there a problem?” Ye Rui was startled by Ai Yue’s actions, sat up straight, and looked utterly confused.

Before Ai Yue returned, Ai Guosheng and his wife, and even Ye Rui herself, often sparred with others. So, she was used to such things and didn’t think anything special of it.

Ai Yue didn’t think so. Connecting it to the conversation between Gong Qiuqiu and Gu Xiheng a few days ago, she had a hunch that things weren’t that simple.

”Let’s go! We’ll go see! Where are they?” Ai Yue said coldly.

”Huh? To watch Uncle and Aunt spar?” Ye Rui also stood up then and walked over to Ai Yue’s side.

”Yes!”

Ye Rui said, ”If they’re sparring with Superpowers, it’s usually at the Martial Arts Hall. They should be there.”

”Lead the way!”

Ai Yue walked out without another word.

Ye Rui quickly led the way.

On the way, Ye Rui couldn’t help but ask, ”Sister, do you think Uncle and Aunt are in danger?”

”I don’t know.”

Ye Rui was stunned. She hadn’t expected Ai Yue to say that, but it only confused her more.

Seeing Ye Rui’s increasing confusion, Ai Yue explained further, ”It’s just a feeling in my heart.”

What she didn’t say was that when Gong Qiuqiu suggested her family also participate in the monster extermination, she realized that it wasn’t Gong Qiuqiu’s original intention, but someone else had asked them to say it.

Realizing this, she knew that she and her family had become targets.

However, with her current abilities, she feared no one, no matter how cunning or overt their schemes.

Even with this confidence, she still had to be careful.

Soon, Ye Rui brought Ai Yue to the Martial Arts Hall. Upon entering and asking, the staff told them that Ai Guosheng and his wife had indeed been there, but after one match, they left with a group of people.

Hearing this, Ai Yue’s brows furrowed deeply.

”Then do you know where they went with that group?” Ai Yue asked.

”I don’t know exactly where, I just saw them go to the West District.”

Ai Yue and Ye Rui thanked them and hurried towards the West District.

At this, Ye Rui became both anxious and furious. Uncle and Aunt had been forcibly taken away.

”These guys, why would they take Uncle and Aunt? They must have a death wish.” Ye Rui gritted her teeth, and the electric arcs in her hands crackled uncontrollably.

Ai Yue grabbed Ye Rui’s hand. ”Calm down. We’ll assess the situation when we get there.”

Ye Rui reluctantly dispersed the electric arcs in her hands. When Ai Yue released her hand, electric sparks uncontrollably erupted from her hands again.

Ai Yue pulled Ye Rui, and with a thought, their figures vanished from the road. Looking closely, they had already flashed to a distant spot, and with another flash, they were gone.

During this time, Ai Yue took a moment to call Gong Qiuqiu, but unfortunately, he didn’t answer.

A hint of murderous intent welled up in Ai Yue’s heart. If even a single hair on her parents’ heads was harmed, she would make sure he died.

Soon, they arrived in the West District.

Ai Yue casually grabbed a big man. ”Did you see where a group of people in black clothes took a man and a woman?”

The big man, looking bewildered, frowned and cursed, ”Let go, you stinking bitch! What black clothes, what people? I don’t know!”

His response was a punch to the face, sending two teeth flying out.

”Do you know now?” Ai Yue held onto the big man, saying coldly.

”I know your mom...” The big man angrily tried to retaliate, but Ai Yue controlled his hand, and a scissor lock made him unable to move. Even a slight movement would bring excruciating pain.

”Ouch, ouch, my lady, gently, gently, I was wrong, ouch, ouch...” The big man’s forehead dripped with cold sweat from the pain as he begged for mercy.

”Do you know now?” Ai Yue asked coldly again.

”My dear grandma, know what? Could you please say it again?”

”Did you see a group of people in black clothes taking a man and a woman, and where did they go?” Ye Rui slapped him, and the electric arcs in her hand made the big man shiver, his body going limp as he collapsed to the ground.

A puff of black smoke came from the big man’s mouth, and he stammered, ”I saw them, I saw them, they went to Tower 4.”

”You could have just said so earlier, instead of suffering innocently, right?” Ai Yue said softly.

The big man, weakened by the electric shock, gasped for air and quickly said, ”Yes, yes, yes, it’s all my fault for being blind and offending you two heroines. Please be merciful and spare me.”

Ye Rui snorted coldly, ”Let’s see if you dare call us ’stinking bitches’ again.”

”I wouldn’t dare, I wouldn’t dare...”

Ai Yue took Ye Rui’s hand, no longer bothering with the big man, and headed straight for Tower 4.

Upon arriving at Tower 4, they found it was guarded by special personnel. When they approached, they were told that no one else was allowed inside.

Ai Yue said to the man in black, ”We’re going in to find someone!”

The man in black, with a cold face, said disdainfully, ”There’s no one you’re looking for here. Get lost.”

Ai Yue clenched her fist, took a deep breath, and said, ”Aren’t you going to inform them?”

The other men in black smiled playfully and said, ”If you want to go in, you can. You two are quite pretty. Let us touch you, and we’ll inform them.”

Ai Yue’s eyes sharpened, and with an expressionless lift of her hand, the black-clad man in front of her slowly turned to ash from foot to head.

The others’ eyes widened. Just as they were about to make a move, they were struck down by Ye Rui’s lightning, convulsing and losing their breath.

Ye Rui snorted in disdain, ”That’s all? And they dared to bully us? A few stinking fish and rotten shrimp, utterly disgusting.”

”Let’s go.” Ai Yue showed no reaction to the dead men in black.

Judging by their behavior, they were clearly not good people.

It’s better for such scoundrels to die.

The two of them were not at all worried about causing trouble.

On the contrary, Ye Rui was somewhat excited. Since coming here, for the sake of a peaceful life, she had never dared to kill those who bullied her.

This time, she finally sent all the people she disliked and who had bullied her back to hell. This feeling was truly exhilarating.

From the moment she made her move, Ai Yue knew that their family could no longer stay here.
