War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

The Divine Offering Land was one of the Realms of the Gods.

The Xia clan was one of the wealthiest and most famous clans in the Divine Offering Land.

Such a clan would usually have strict rules and place huge importance on rules and order. However, recently, there was a commotion in the Xia clan. Their Eldest Miss, Xia Ning Xue, had taken her own life in the past. After she reincarnated and returned to the Divine Offering Land, it was discovered that she was with a man and even had a daughter with that man. Needless to say, such a scandal rocked the Xia clan to its core.

In a corner of the Xia clan’s estate, a group of secondary disciples was discussing the clan’s female prodigy, Xia Ning Xue.

“Hey, do you think the Eldest Miss will survive the Realm Battlefield?”

“It’s difficult to say for sure. After all, the Realm Battlefield was created by supreme powerhouses. Even those who are powerful would face life-threatening danger in there, let alone our Eldest Miss…”

“I really didn’t expect the Eldest Miss to enter the Realm Battlefield. It’s said that she only did that as a show of protest to the clan leader. She’s trying to prove that she’d rather die than marry the Young Master of the Yun clan.”

“I heard about that as well! Apparently, she didn’t take her life this time around due to her daughter and family from her current life in the mundane realm!”

At this moment, someone said with a sigh, “Third Master is still imprisoned in the inner courtyard. I heard he tried to escape a few times but was caught.”

“Third Master really angered the Clan Leader.”

“That’s not surprising. After all, Third Master released those people whom Eldest Miss cares about. Once she finds out about their release, the clan won’t be able to threaten her with the lives of those she cares about anymore.”

“I really don’t understand the Clan Leader’s thoughts. Eldest Miss already has a daughter. I don’t understand why he insists on forcing her to marry the Young Master of the Yun clan? Why can’t he let her do as she wishes?”

“It’s said that Young Master Yun is obsessed with Eldest Miss. Moreover, rumor has it that if he doesn’t marry Eldest Miss, he won’t be able to become an Emperor of Gods.”

…

After Xia Jie released Li Fei, Li Rou, Duan Ru Feng, and the others, he was imprisoned by Xia Yu, the Clan Leader of the Xia clan. Apart from being imprisoned, he was cut off from the outside world as well.

Xia Yu was afraid Xia Jie would tell Xia Ning Xue about the release of Duan Ru Feng and the others. He knew his daughter would never return to the Xia clan once she found out the people cared about had been released.

Xia Yu would visit Xia Jie every once in a while. Every time he visited, he would wear a frown on his face whenever he looked at Xia Jie.

Today was one of those times that Xia Yu visited Xia Jie. At this moment, he shook his head as he said to Xia Jie, “Third Brother, you really crossed the line this time.”

“Crossed the line? Are you talking about yourself?” Xia Jie said indifferently.

“Let’s not talk about this for now,” Xia Yu said dismissively. After a moment, he said, “I need to give Qing Yan an explanation regarding this matter. You know very well he entrusted me with those people. Now that they’ve been released, you know I’d have to explain this matter to him.”

“Go explain it to him then. Why are you here?” Xia Jie said impatiently as he rolled his eyes.

“Third Brother, you know why I’m here,” Xia Yu said as his expression turned grim, “I know you found what’s suspected to be a first-form Profound Divine Metal in the past. Recently, the Yun clan found a first-form Profound Divine Metal as well. Give me the metal fragment you found. If it’s truly a first-form Profound Divine Metal, the Yun clan’s Profound Divine Metal would be able to absorb it and evolve into its second form. Third Brother, it’s best if you obediently hand the metal fragment over to me.”

Nearing the end of his sentence, Xia Yu’s tone turned threatening.

Xia Jie was briefly stunned by those words. When he regained his senses, he began to laugh.

Upon seeing this, Xia Yu’s frown deepened. “Why are you laughing? Do you think this is an appropriate time to laugh?”

“Elder Brother, I haven’t been in possession of that metal fragment for 700 years now,” Xia Jie said as he shook his head.

Xia Yu looked at Xia Jie skeptically. “How’s that possible? Don’t try to trick me, Third Brother. In the past, you treasured it so much that you weren’t even willing to let me study it. Now you want me to believe you no longer have it with you?”

Xia Jie nodded. “Indeed, I treasured it a lot. After all, I’m highly certain it’s a Profound Divine Metal. It’d definitely be awakened once it absorbed another first-form Profound Divine Metal. If it continued to evolve, I would have a high chance of becoming a supreme powerhouse, let alone a Supreme God.” After a brief pause, his eyes brightened slightly as he continued to say, “However, I gave it to another person 700 years ago.”

“Who did you give it to?” Xia Yu glared at Xia Jie. As long as he found who Xia Jie had given the metal fragment to, he would be able to get it back.

“He’s not from the Divine Offering Land or any Realms of Gods. With all this said, you should be smart enough to deduce the identity of the person who possesses that metal fragment now.”

“Not from the Divine Offering Land or any Realms of Gods?” Xia Yu raised an eyebrow. Following that, his eyes widened and his expression changed drastically as he said, “Don’t tell me you gave the metal fragment to that brat Duan Ling Tian!”

Although Xia Yu had yet to meet his daughter’s husband in her current life, how could he not know his name? He was aware that his third brother had met Duan Ling Tian previously and even threatened the Xia clan’s servant who had been ordered to kill Duan Ling Tian. Hence, after listening to his third brother’s words, it was not difficult for him to figure out that the metal fragment had been given to Duan Ling Tian.

“You’re really smart, Eldest Brother. No wonder our father chose you to be the clan leader,” Xia Jie said as he gave a thumbs-up to Xia Yu.

“Stop this nonsense!” Xia Yu said angrily, “Don’t think I don’t know you gave him that metal fragment in hopes that he’d grow strong in the future! You’re too naive! Do you really think that metal fragment will be able to help that brat from the mundane realm who’s even weaker than natives of the Devata Realms? If the Profound Divine Metal is intelligent, it would leave that brat in search of a new host. Giving him that metal fragment is akin to throwing it away!”

Xia Yu knew Xia Jie hoped Duan Ling Tian would grow strong and live up to his expectations and be worthy of his daughter. However, he did not think it was possible for Duan Ling Tian to do much even if Duan Ling Tian possessed the Profound Divine Metal. In fact, he thought it was likely that Duan Ling Tian would be killed before the Profound Divine Metal even had a chance to evolve.

“Elder Brother, I beg to differ. I’ve met your son-in-law before. Although he’s from the mundane realm, he’s extraordinary,” Xia Jie said confidently.

Indeed, Xia Jie had given Duan Ling Tian the Profound Divine Metal in hopes of changing Duan Ling Tian’s fate. With the Profound Divine Metal, Duan Ling Tian’s time in the Devata Realms would be much easier, and he would also have a higher chance of ascending to the Realms of Gods. Naturally, he was aware that possessing the Profound Divine Metal came with its own risks. After all, if it was exposed that Duan Ling Tian possessed the Profound Divine Metal, Duan Ling Tian’s life would be in danger. Nevertheless, in his opinion, the pros outweighed the cons.

“Third Brother, I know you feel sorry for Ning Xue. However, you’re too rash,” Xia Yu said as he shook his head, “It’s impossible for that brat to achieve greatness. He’s destined to be inferior to Qing Yan no matter what. I agree he has a chance of changing his fate, but he’ll never be able to surpass Qing Yan.”

Clearly, Xia Yu did not think much of his daughter’s husband.

“Nevertheless, I have faith in him,” Xia Jie said. He was certain that his judgment was right. That purple-clad young man he met was truly extraordinary. Otherwise, he would not have given him the metal fragment. He had chosen not to disclose the fact that the metal fragment was likely a Profound Divine Metal when he gave it to Duan Ling Tian so that Duan Ling Tian would not feel burdened to accept it. For that reason, he had lied and said it was just a mysterious piece of metal he had found.

…

Back in the Nine Serenities Battlefield.

“Duan Ling Tian!”

Duan Ling Tian who was cultivating peacefully in the Given Alliance base was awakened by a loud, energetic, and clearly hostile voice.

His lips curled up into a derisive smile. “There are still people bold enough to come looking for trouble after I showed my strength? This person must be confident.”

His eyes glinted coldly before he vanished into thin air..
