War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

The Heavenly Dao Alliance members stared at Duan Ling Tian nervously, worried about their safety. Although Duan Ling Tian’s performance today was shocking and amazing, they knew it was no longer safe to stay in the Heavenly Dao Alliance.

After all, Duan Ling Tian had killed Wu Long, the junior brother of the Leader of the Given Alliance who was also the first true disciple of the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven. Most importantly, he was a Nine Star God of War.

Although the Leader of the Heavenly Dao Alliance was strong, he was no match for a Nine Star God of War. Hence, it was unlikely that he could protect his members if the Leader of the Given Heaven came to seek revenge.

“Leader,” Duan Ling Tian called out before he teleported in front of Shangguan Yun Feng, the Leader of the Heavenly Dao Alliance. Then, he calmly asked, “What are your plans?”

Duan Ling Tian had noticed the various expressions of the Heavenly Dao Alliance members, and he had heard the whispers as well. He knew it would not take long before the first true disciples of the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven found out about Wu Long’s death here. After all, the Heavenly Emperor of the Given had probably already sent his men to the Nine Serenities Battlefield to inform his first true disciple about the matter. Most importantly, they would definitely not let this matter go.

“Young Master, are you confident about winning if you were to fight the Leader of the Given Heaven who’s a Nine Star God of War?” Shangguan Yun Feng asked in a grave tone. Duan Ling Tian’s answer would determine the future of the Heavenly Dao Alliance.

“I’m no match for a Nine Star God of War now.” Duan Ling Tian shook his head. Before his Celestial Origin Energy transitioned to the Divine Energy, it was impossible for him to defeat a Nine Stars God of War even if he possessed a prominent divine artifact or comprehended two of the Four Daos of Heaven and Earth and other laws. The difference between Celestial Origin Energy and Divine Energy was unbridgeable.

Even if the first true disciple of the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven only possessed a primitive divine artifact, due to his Celestial Origin Energy that possessed traces of Divine Energy, his weapon would still be stronger than Duan Ling Tian’s prominent divine artifact.

Perhaps, if the Five Divine Elements were not in a state of recovery, Duan Ling Tian would have been more confident about facing a Nine Star God of War.

“If I can start the transition of my Celestial Origin Energy to Divine Energy, I’d be confident about facing him. However, as it is, I’ll definitely be defeated.”

Shangguan Yun Feng smiled bitterly. “It seems like I can only disband the Heavenly Dao Alliance…”

“I apologize,” Duan Ling Tian said.

“There’s no need to apologize, Young Master,” Shangguan Yun Feng said, “Disbanding the Heavenly Dao Alliance isn’t the end. There are many alliances in the Nine Serenities Battlefield; with our members’ strength, I’m sure they’ll be able to join them. Moreover, if the members and I have to pick between keeping the Heavenly Dao Alliance or you killing Wu Long, we’ll definitely pick the latter.”

Then, Shangguan Yun Feng turned to the members of the alliance and said, “Brothers and sisters, due to threat from the Given Alliance, I have no choice but to disband the Heavenly Dao Alliance. We will have to go our separate ways from now on…”

After Shangguan Yun Feng’s voice fell, the entire place was as silent as a graveyard. However, no one was surprised by this announcement since they had all seen it coming.

“The Young Master apologized to me, but I told him there’s nothing to apologize for. Do all of you agree?” Shangguan Yun Feng asked, raising his voice near the end of the sentence.

Everyone shook their heads in unison when they regained their senses.

“Of course not!”

“Witnessing the Young Master defeat Wu Long was one of the best experiences in my life!”

“It’s not a big deal even if we have to disband the Heavenly Dao Alliance. We can always find another place!”

“That’s right! Witnessing the fight has broadened my horizon. Disbanding the alliance is just a small price to pay!”

“Young Master, don’t be so hard on yourself. Even if I’m no longer a member of the alliance, I’ll always remember the Heavenly Dao Alliance. I’ll never forget the spectacular battle between our Vice Leader and the second Leader of the Given Alliance who was once known as the strongest Eight Star God of War in the Nine Serenities Battlefield!”

Someone laughed and said, “I can boast about once being a member of the Heavenly Dao Alliance and witnessing you killing Wu Long!”

Although the members of the Heavenly Dao Alliance were sad about the alliance’s disbandment, their sadness did not linger. Most of them thought it was worthwhile being able to watch Duan Ling Tian and Wu Long’s battle.

“See? No one feels resentful nor do they blame you,” Shangguan Yun Feng said with a smile as he turned back to look at Duan Ling Tian.

Duan Ling Tian was overwhelmed by everyone’s reactions and words. Although these people might not be as strong as he is, their hearts were definitely strong. They did not complain when they met with obstacles and bravely soldiered on. Moreover, in this place, it was normal to wander from place to place.

“Young Master,” Shangguan Yun Feng said through Voice Transmission, “If you plan to continue staying in the Nine Serenities Battlefield, I suggest you take on a pseudonym and disguise yourself. It’d be easier for you to join another alliance as well. If not, you can also join the rival of the Given Alliance that has a Nine Star God of War as well. With that, the Leader of the Given Alliance will have to think twice about making a move against you. However, there are naturally risks that come with this since we can’t guarantee the alliance you join won’t hand you over to the Given Alliance.”

“Thank you for the advice,” Duan Ling Tian replied. Then, he flew up into the sky and nodded at everyone before he said, “Farewell, everyone.”

“Farewell, Vice Leader!”

The members of the Heavenly Dao Alliance responded and bowed in unison. They watch as Duan Ling Tian flew away and only regained their senses when they could no longer see him. Many of them were filled with nothing but praise for him. They were certain his future would be bright so long as nothing untoward happened to him.

“Our Vice Leader isn’t even 700 years old yet, but he’s already so strong. It’s hard to imagine how powerful he’d be after 1,000 years.”

“If he can keep up his speed of cultivation, after 1,000 years, he’d even surpass the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven.”

“With his talent, it won’t take long for him to become a Nine Star God of War.”

…

Not long after Duan Ling Tian left the Heavenly Dao Alliance base and the alliance disbanded, the messenger that the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven dispatched arrived at the Nine Serenities Battlefield. After meeting Ji Ying, the first true disciple of the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven, he reported everything that had happened.

Ji Ying was a slender black-clad young man with an ordinary appearance. His thick eyebrows made him look rather fierce.

Bang!

After listening to the messenger’s report, Ji Ying, who was cultivating in his cultivation ground in the Given Alliance base, lost control of his emotions. His Celestial Origin Energy surged, destroying the ground. He did not even spare a glance at the devastated area as he flew east with a grim expression on his face.

Wu Long was Ji Ying’s only junior brother and was like a younger brother to him. How could he remain unmoved after finding out Wu Long had died? At this time, he only had one thought in mind: destroy the Heavenly Dao Alliance and kill Duan Ling Tian!

The commotion attracted the attention of many high-ranking members of the Given Alliance. Despite their curiosity, they were very respectful toward Ji Ying.

“Leader, what happened?”

“Leader!”

“What’s wrong?”

Ji Ying responded expressionlessly, “It’s nothing. I’ll be away from the base for a bit. Deal with the alliance’s affairs as you see fit.”

Ji Ying did not wait for his men’s response and left as soon as he finished speaking.

“I wonder what happened?”

“Me too!”

“Something doesn’t seem right with our Leader…”

While the members were puzzled over Ji Ying’s odd behavior, someone suddenly exclaimed in shock, “Leader Wu Long is dead!”

“What?!”

Everyone was shocked by the news of Wu Long’s death. After all, he was the second Leader of the Given Alliance and was also the second strongest person in the alliance. Moreover, he was always accompanied by the third strongest person in the alliance. Everyone knew he was the strongest Eight Star God of War in the Nine Serenities Battlefield. How did someone like that die?

“Which Nine Star God of War killed him?” someone asked,

“It wasn’t a Nine Star God of War,” the person who received the news first said in a low voice, “The person who killed Leader Wu Long and Lord Xiao is Duan Ling Tian, the only true disciple of Heavenly Emperor Feng Qing Yang of the Heavenly Palace of the Solitary Destructive Heaven! He’s a top Eight Star God of War!”

“Leader Wu Long traveled east to the Heavenly Dao Alliance base to challenge Duan Ling Tian and was killed as a result.”

Everyone fell silent immediately.

“Based on our Leader’s expression earlier, he must’ve found out about Leader Wu Long’s death…”

“That’s obvious…”

“He should be on his way to the Heavenly Dao Alliance now.”

“The Heavenly Dao Alliance has probably disbanded. As for Duan Ling Tian, I doubt he’d wait for our Leader to find him since he’s not a Nine Star God of War.”

“Is Duan Ling Tian unaware that Leader Wu Long is the second true disciple of the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven? Didn’t he know he’d incur the wrath of the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven, the strongest among the 81 Heavenly Emperors?”
