War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

The Given Alliance is the only alliance in the Nine Serenities Battlefield with two leaders. This was to accommodate Wu Long.

Ji Ying, the Leader of the Given Alliance, doted on Wu Long so he naturally agreed to make Wu Long the second Leader of the Given Alliance. This fact was widely known by the high-ranking members of the alliance. Since they were all members of the same alliance, it was inevitable that this would come up during conversations.

“Perhaps, Duan Ling Tian’s really unaware that Wu Long is the second true disciple of the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven…”

An elder of the alliance shook his head and said, “Impossible. Leader Wu Long would definitely reveal his identity when he challenged Duan Ling Tian. Moreover, even if Duan Ling Tian was initially unaware, there’s no way no one from the Heavenly Dao Alliance didn’t recognize Leader Wu Long. His identity aside, he’s widely known for being the strongest Eight Star God of Star in the Nine Serenities Battlefield.”

“I know for a fact that the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven really dotes on his two true disciples. He even left divine marks on them. I’m guessing the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven must have manifested in the Nine Serenities Battlefield before Leader Wu Long died.”

“Really? If Lord Heavenly Emperor manifested at that time, how could Duan Ling Tian dare to kill Leader Wu Long? Isn’t that akin to openly challenging our Lord Heavenly Emperor?”

At this moment, the elder in charge of gathering intel in the Give Alliance said, “Indeed, before Duan Ling Tian killed Leader Wu Long, Lord Heavenly Emperor’s manifestation did appear at the Heavenly Dao Alliance base. He even tried to negotiate with Duan Ling Tian and promised to give Duan Ling Tian whatever he wanted as long as he spared Leader Wu Long’s life. However, before Lord Heavenly Emperor finished speaking, Duan Ling Tian killed Leader Wu Long.”

Everyone inhaled sharply when they heard these words.

“Not only that, but before Duan Ling Tian killed Leader Wu Long, he destroyed our Lord Heavenly Emperor’s manifestation!”

The members of the Given Alliance looked at each other in shock and disbelief. For a moment, no one spoke. They were shocked that Duan Ling Tian rejected the Heavenly Emperor of Given Heaven’s olive branch and even destroyed his manifestation from the divine mark! Although the destruction of the manifestation did not affect the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven at all, it was a sign of Duan Ling Tian challenging the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven.

“Duan Ling Tian is as good as dead.”

“He’s too bold! Even his master can’t save him this time!”

“Does he think his master is comparable to Lord Heavenly Emperor just because his master has attained godhood? There’s a strength difference between gods, after all. As someone who’s ranked first on the Devata Realms’ Heavenly Emperor Ranking, our Lord Heavenly Emperor had attained godhood a long time ago. There’s no doubt he’s now a King of God at least…”

Most of the high-ranking members of the Given Alliance were certain that Duan Ling Tian would die.

…

Meanwhile, Duan Ling Tian was unaware of the commotion that he had caused. He was naturally also unaware that Ji Ying, the Leader of the Given Alliance, was making his way to the Heavenly Dao Alliance base in the east of the Nine Serenities Battlefield.

When Ji Ying arrived at the Heavenly Dao Alliance base, he discovered the entire place was empty. Everyone, including the leader and the guardians of the alliance, had left.

After leaving the Heavenly Dao Alliance, many of the members joined a new alliance or wandered the Nine Serenities Battlefield alone. Some went north; some went south; some went west; some went to the central region.

This meant that Ji Ying who wanted to seek revenge from the Heavenly Dao Alliance would have a tough time finding its members. Let alone the ordinary members, it would be difficult for him to find the leaders and the guardians of the alliance who were somewhat famous. After all, they could change their names and disguise themselves. In fact, the Leader of the Heavenly Dao Alliance’s name, Shangguan Yun Feng, was also just a pseudonym.

Most people would hide their true identities when in the Nine Serenities Battlefield. There were very few like Duan Ling Tian, Ji Ying, and Wu Long who used their real names and who had overwhelmingly powerful backgrounds. There were also some Nine Star Gods of War who hid their names so they could freely use their Divine Elements without being exposed.

…

‘I didn’t think Leader Ji Ying would come so fast.’

At this moment, Shangguan Yun Feng, the former Leader of the now-defunct Heavenly Dao Alliance, was looking at Ji Ying. Ji Ying had coincidentally come to the alliance that he had just joined to ask about the Heavenly Dao Alliance and Duan Ling Tian’s whereabouts. Although he had expected this, he was still taken aback when he saw Ji Ying.

‘It seems like the rumors are true that Ji Ying really doted on his junior brother, Wu Long. He really does have a soft spot for Wu Long,” Shangguan Yun Feng thought to himself.

Currently, not only did Shangguan Yun Feng change his name and disguise himself, but he had also suppressed his cultivation base.

‘I’ll stay here temporarily. I’ll only leave the east for the central region once I become as strong as a top Eight Star God of War…’

The central region of the Nine Serenities Battlefield was filled with experts. One would not be able to survive for long if one was not a top Eight Star God of War at least.

‘I wonder if I’d be able to meet the Young Master again in the future.’

When Shangguan Yun Feng thought about Duan Ling Tian, he could not help but worry again. He really hoped Duan Ling Tian would heed his advice about using a pseudonym and disguising himself. After all, Duan Ling Tian would be in grave danger as long as he had yet to become a Nine Star God of War.

Shangguan Yun Feng knew many young geniuses who continued flaunting their extraordinary backgrounds even after they had offended others just to maintain their reputation. They usually ended up dead.

If Duan Ling Tian were aware of Shangguan Yun Feng’s thoughts, he would have found it funny. Although his reputation was important, it was not comparable to his life. Moreover, he also had to consider his loved ones who depended on him. They were living in his Little World and there was Ke’er who was still waiting for him to rescue her in the Divine Offering Land.

Previously, Duan Ling Tian did not bother hiding his identity when joining the Heavenly Dao Alliance because he had hoped to lure out those from the Title Temple who might be after him. Moreover, the Five Divine Elements had used their remaining strength to inscribe a Celestial Talisman for him using a leaf from the Divine Tree of Life that would enable him to escape from Nine Star Gods of War. The Celestial Talisman was so powerful that if he were to use it outside of the Nine Serenities Battlefield, he could even escape from a god.

Duan Ling Tian had been hoping those from the Title Temple would look for him so he could kill them to avenge his master. Unfortunately, plans could not keep up with changes. Instead of the members of the Title Temple, Wu Long, the second disciple of the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven, would come looking for him.

How could Duan Ling Tian be unaware of the fact that killing Wu Long would put him and the Heavenly Emperor of the Given on opposing sides? However, he had deemed it necessary to kill Wu Long. After all, Wu Long had tried to kill him. If he did not kill Wu Long, a knot might form in his heart because of this. The knot would then hinder his cultivation progress. Hence, he killed Wu Long even though the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven had manifested and tried to intervene.

‘It seems like I won’t have the chance to kill those from the Title Temple for now…’ Duan Ling Tian thought to himself. He was rather certain that the Temple Temple would only send Eight Star God of War, at most, after him. He had no fear as long as they did not send Nine Star Gods of War.

With his current strength and the Seven Orifices Exquisite Sword, he was strong enough to kill all Eight Star Gods of War. Moreover, he possessed 99 Heavenly Veins that would supply him with endless Heaven and Earth Spirit Energy that was comparable to that of Realms of Gods.

‘I should use a pseudonym. The Leader of the Given Alliance must be searching for me now…’

Duan Ling Tian was aware that Ji Ying, the Leader of the Given Alliance and the first true disciple of the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven, was a Nine Star God of War. At this time, if he ran into Ji Ying, he would only have one option: use the Celestial Talisman the Five Divine Elements had inscribed for him to escape.. However, he was reluctant to waste it on Ji Ying.
