War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

The Second Northern Region was not the strongest in the northern region of the Nine Serenities Battlefield. After all, it was merely one of the many regions in the northern region. However, recently, the Second Northern Region had risen in fame due to the tripartite confrontation between its three strongest alliances. One of the alliances, the North Profound Alliance, had single-handedly eliminated the other two alliances, the Mount He Alliance and the Autumn Cloud Alliance. Following that, the North Profound Alliance became the strongest alliance in the Second Northern Region.

Although there were many regions in the north of the Nine Serenities Battlefield that were dominated by only one alliance, most of these alliances were stronger than their competitions when they were founded, giving them a head start. In regions where there were multiple alliances of the same strength, it was a rare occurrence for the balance to break and for one alliance to wipe out the other alliances that had joined forces.

When news of what happened spread, many people were confused and skeptical. However, as details of what happened began spreading as well, they realized what seemed to be impossible was true.

“Similar to the Mount He Alliance and the Autumn Cloud Alliance, I thought the North Profound Alliance only has two Eight Star Gods of War? If the two alliances joined forces, it meant that there were four Eight Star Gods of War fighting two Eight Star Gods of War from the North Profound Alliance. It should be easy for the two alliances to deal with the North Profound Alliance, right? How did the two alliances end up getting wiped out?”

“Didn’t you hear? The reason the North Profound Alliance managed to destroy the Mount He Alliance and the Autumn Cloud Alliance is due to their new Supreme Guardian. The Supreme Guardian had just joined the North Profound Alliance not too long ago. It’s said that he killed the Leaders and the Vice Leaders of the Autumn Cloud and the Mount He Alliance with a strike each. I heard the two Vice Leaders of the two alliances were trying to flee before they were killed!”

This news shocked the northern region of the Nine Serenities Battlefield. What was more shocking to them was that the Supreme Guardian was just an Eight Star God of War, not a Nine Star God of War.

After all, the Leaders of the Mount He Alliance and the Autumn Cloud Alliance were not unknown in the northern region. The duo was almost as strong as an Eight Star God of War. How strong must one be to be able to kill the duo with just a strike each?

“Even a top Eight Star God of War wouldn’t be capable of such a feat, right? Is it possible that the Supreme Guardian of the North Profound Alliance is a Nine Star God of War?”

“Things would certainly make sense if he’s a Nine Star God of War.”

“However, I heard that he’s not a Nine Star God of War. Moreover, why would a Nine Star God of War stay in the north? They’d be able to hold their own in the central region, after all.”

“The only Eight Star Gods of War in the Nine Serenities Battlefield who might be capable of such a feat are the former and current strongest Eight Star God of War, right?”

“That’s right! The Supreme Guardian of the North Profound Alliance is comparable to the former second Leader of the Given Alliance and the former Vice Leader of the now-defunct Heavenly Dao Alliance who had mysteriously vanished!”

“Do you know the name of the Supreme Guardian of the North Profound Alliance?”

“I heard he’s called Li Feng.”

…

It did not take long before the name ‘Li Feng’ became famous in the north of the Nine Serenities Battlefield. Those who were not in closed-door cultivation had all heard of this name.

As time passed, the news spread to the other regions in the Nine Serenities Battlefield.

After six months had passed, the news of Supreme Guardian Li Feng of the North Profound Alliance killing four Eight Star Gods of War finally reached the Given Alliance.

Over the past six months, a cloud of gloom loomed over the Given Alliance base. The entire alliance was only focused on one thing: searching for the whereabouts of Duan Ling Tian, the only true disciple of the Heavenly Emperor of the Solitary Destructive Heaven. Those who had any clues regarding his whereabouts would be handsomely rewarded.

About six months ago, after the Title Temple sent a group of men to the Given Alliance, the Title Temple sent another Nine Star God of War to the alliance as well.

The Nine Star God of War was Yue Chao Qun, the Temple Master of the Title Temple branch in the Ten Thousand Beasts Heaven. He was a middle-aged man with a medium build and a harmless and ordinary appearance. He was Wu Hong Qing’s junior brother; they had grown up together in the Title Temple. For this reason, the duo had a very good relationship. As time passed, Wu Hong Qing surpassed him and became a King of Gods while he was stuck being an imminent god, unable to break through and attain godhood.

Wu Hong Qing, the Temple Master of the Title Temple, had sent Yue Chao Qun to assist Mi Xuan since the duo had a close relationship. Moreover, Mi Xuan, who had possessed Tang San Pao now, had a rather strange status in the Title Temple. After all, Mi Xuan had possessed the Young Master of the Title Temple.

Although Yue Chao Qun stayed near Mi Xuan in the Given Alliance base, today was only his second time meeting Mi Xuan. They had met for the first time when he had greeted Mi Xuan after arriving at the Given Alliance base. He had heard from Wu Hong Qing previously that Tang San Pao was no longer Tang San Pao despite his appearance. He found out that Tang San Pao had been possessed by the former Clan Leader of the Phantom Clan in the Land of the Dead who was a King of Gods. For this reason, despite being a Nine Star God of War, he was very humble and respectful to Mi Xuan who was a King of Gods. Even if Mi Xuan could not kill him in the Nine Serenities Battlefield due to the restrictions on his strength, he knew Mi Xuan could easily kill him outside of the Nine Serenities Battlefield.

“Lord Mi Xuan,” Yue Chao Qun called out.

“What’s the matter?” Mi Xuan glanced at Yue Chao Qun disinterestedly. He clearly thought Yue Chao Qun was beneath him. Nine Star Gods of War were just like ants in his eyes, after all.

Yue Chao Qun did not waste time and began to say, “Lord Mi Xuan, we received news that the North Profound Alliance recently gained a Supreme Guardian called Li Feng. Although he’s just an Eight Star God of War, he managed to kill four Eight Star Gods of War with just a strike each…”

“So what? Get to the point!” Mi Xuan said impatiently. Even a Nine Star God of War was not worthy of his time, let alone an Eight Star God of War.

Yue Chao Qun naturally did not take offense. He patiently explained, “Lord Mi Xuan, it’s said that Li Feng wears a long black robe and a black cloak. He also wears a hat all the time. Based on all this, it seems like he’s trying to hide his identity. Most importantly, it’s said that he comprehends the law of space.”

Mi Xuan finally reacted after listening to the latter parts of Yue Chao Qun’s words. His eyes widened in surprise as he asked with a hint of excitement, “You’re saying Li Feng could be Duan Ling Tian?”

Mi Xuan was not stupid. Otherwise, how could he have been elected as the Clan Leader of the Phantom Clan in the past? It was easy for him to figure the implications of Yue Chao Qun’s words.

“That’s right.” Yao Chao Qun nodded.

Mi Xuan asked, “Is Ji Ying aware of this?”

“Yes.” Yue Chao Qun nodded again. “He was the one who asked me to convey this information to you.”

Ever since Mi Xuan defeated Ji Ying, Ji Ying did not look for Mi Xuan at all. Whenever he obtained clues, he would not speak to Mi Xuan. Instead, he would send someone to speak to Mi Xuan. It was obvious that he was unwilling to see Mi Xuan.

Mi Xuan sneered as his eyes flashed coldly. “Who does he think he is? How dare he send someone to inform me about this matter instead of personally informing me?”

Following that, Mi Xuan vanished in just a blink of an eye.

Yue Chao Xun was surprised when he saw the direction Mi Xuan was flying toward. He muttered to himself, confused, “He… He’s not going north?”

Instead of flying north, Mi Xuan had flown southeast.

After a brief moment, realization dawned on Yue Chao Xun. The direction where Mi Xuan had flown was the cultivation ground of Ji Ying, the Leader of the Given Alliance.

‘Is Lord Mi Xuan going to look for trouble with Ji Ying?’ Yue Chao Qun was taken aback. Then, he hurriedly chased after Mi Xuan. However, just when he arrived, he saw Mi Xuan leaving again. This time, Mi Xuan was heading north.

At this time, Ji Ying stood rooted to the ground. He held his shoulder, which seemed to be dislocated. A trace of blood could be seen at the corner of his lips as well.

“Leader Ji Ying, you…” Yue Chao Qun was stunned. Did Mi Xuan injure Ji Ying just because Ji Ying did not speak to Mi Xuan personally?

Ji Ying sneered as he looked at Yue Chao Qun frostily. “The people from the Title Temple are truly petty. Previously, when he hurt me, I let the matter go since I was the one who provoked him first. However, this time, he injured me for no reason. I won’t stand for this. I’ll be asking my master to seek an explanation from the Title Temple!”

The more Ji Ying said, the angrier he became. He had assumed Yue Chao Qun would apologize on behalf of Mi Xuan and ask him to make a big fuss out of this matter.

Contrary to Ji Ying’s expectations, Yue Chao Qun nodded and said perfunctorily, “I agree with you, Leader Ji Ying. I’ve always lived by the saying, ‘Justice above relations’.”

Despite his words, Yue Chao Qun snickered inwardly.. ‘What can the Heavenly Emperor of the Given Heaven do?’
