This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

At that time, Li Qin suffered a radial fracture caused by external force twisting, so there was a certain rotation and displacement at the fracture site. Du Heng used the method of rotation and flexion to restore the fracture site to its original state.

As for the college student and Zhu Heizi, one had an impact injury, and the other had a crushing injury. With multiple fragments and less noticeable displacement of the major bone, they also used the method of lifting and pressing the ends.

Now, Gong Daoyang had a clavicle fracture with obvious displacement, so Du Heng chose the method of traction and extension.

However, this method, and the location of the injury, made the reduction even more brutal and wild than when he had treated Li Qin.

Gong Daoyang adjusted his position. Once the anesthetic started to take effect, Du Heng moved directly behind Gong Daoyang, lifted his left leg onto Gong Daoyang’s stool, and placed his knee directly between Gong Daoyang’s shoulder blades. Then, he slowly gripped Gong Daoyang’s shoulders with both hands.

”Gong, bear with it. I’m about to start.”

”Go ahead... Nngh...” Gong Daoyang hadn’t finished speaking when he let out a muffled groan.

Du Heng gripped Gong Daoyang’s shoulders and slowly pulled backward.

As he pulled, the protruding deformity around the collarbone gradually began to subside, and the two shoulders slowly became level.

However, the anesthetic wasn’t very strong. Gong Daoyang broke out in a cold sweat from the pain, his hand clutching his waist almost loosening its grip.

”Gong, don’t let go! Hold on, it’ll be over soon.”

Du Heng quickly reminded Gong Daoyang as he watched the fracture site slowly return to its original position.

Despite his words, the process was repeated three times before Du Heng slowly let go. By then, Gong Daoyang’s face was covered in cold sweat.

Du Heng let out a long breath, moved back to Gong Daoyang’s front, and began to examine the fractured bone with his hand.

Finding that the deformity had completely disappeared and the fractured ends of the bone had essentially returned to their original position, Du Heng smiled with satisfaction. ”Gong, it’s back in place.”

Gong Daoyang also heaved a sigh of relief. ”Good, as long as it’s fixed.” He felt as if his very heart was trembling.

He truly hadn’t expected the pain from the reduction to be far worse than the pain from the hoe strike itself.

”Wait a moment. I’ll go get some medicine. After we apply it, we can put on the bandage.” Du Heng then turned and headed straight to his consultation room. He had some ointment left over from when he treated Zhu Heizi, which he kept stored in his office.

Du Heng was quick, returning within two minutes holding a well-sealed small jar. ”Gong, this is good stuff. I’ve even used it on a big star before.”

Gong Daoyang was in so much pain his insides felt like they were churning, and he was in no mood for jokes.

He glanced at the dull, grayish jar in Du Heng’s hand and said weakly, ”Oh, sure you have. Keep bragging.”

”Heh heh, don’t be so quick to disbelieve. You know Li Qin, right? The one who acts in TV dramas. Her arm was broken a while back, and I cured her with this very ointment.”

”Alright, alright, then I’ll bask in the reflected glory of a big star. Just hurry up, will you?”

Gong Daoyang agreed impatiently. As for the TV drama or the star Du Heng mentioned, he’d never heard of either.

Du Heng wasted no more words. He had Yu Haiting lend a hand, and together they quickly spread the ointment all over the fractured area.

While applying it, Du Heng gently massaged the injured area, following the direction of the muscles.

After they finished applying the ointment, Du Heng and Yu Haiting washed their hands and prepared to apply the bandage. Gong Daoyang, feeling the cool sensation on his injury, couldn’t help but ask, ”What kind of ointment is this? It feels cool, and it doesn’t seem to hurt as much anymore.”

Du Heng, returning after washing his hands, said cheerfully, ”My ointment prescription is called ’Whole Body Divine Ointment.’ It relaxes the muscles, activates blood circulation, reduces swelling, and alleviates pain. The most impressive part is that it helps bones form scabs and heal quickly. Paired with the oral prescription I’ll give you, what usually takes others three months to recover from, you’ll manage in about a month.”

”Is it really as potent as you claim?” Gong Daoyang sounded skeptical.

”Don’t worry, it absolutely won’t delay you from holding your two sons.”

”I certainly hope your good words prove true.”

Du Heng picked up the bandage. ”Alright, Gong. While applying the ointment just now, I also massaged the area around your fracture. That helps to relax the muscles and disperse stasis. Now, I’m going to apply the bandage, so you’ll have to bear with the discomfort a little longer.”

”Go ahead.”

Applying bandages, immobilizing fractures—Du Heng had taken every opportunity to read up and practice these skills recently. Now, he finally had a chance to put his knowledge into practice. Truth be told, he felt a thrill of excitement.

Taking a brief deep breath, Du Heng used a figure-eight wrap, quickly bandaging Gong Daoyang’s chest and back.

Gazing with satisfaction at his handiwork, Du Heng then fashioned a sling with the bandage around Gong Daoyang’s neck, suspending his left arm in it.

”Alright, Gong. I’ll prescribe some medicine for you later. After you drink it, you can get a good night’s sleep. But when you sleep, it’s best to be on a harder bed, with your back propped up so your shoulders are pulled back.”

As Du Heng spoke, he began to help Gong Daoyang get dressed. However, they found it impossible to put on his thermal undershirt and sweater.

Du Heng, feeling awkward under Gong Daoyang’s gaze, chuckled sheepishly. He turned and went to his dormitory, returning with a thermal undershirt and a woolen sweater.

Back with Gong Daoyang, he said, ”Gong, these are my clothes, all clean. If you don’t mind, why don’t you wear them for now?”

Gong Daoyang gave Du Heng an exasperated look. ”Stop with the nonsense and just help me put them on. Don’t you know the heating in this Health Clinic isn’t very warm?”

Du Heng smiled, unfazed, picked up the clothes, and helped Gong Daoyang put them on.

After everything was done and Gong Daoyang had taken his medicine, Du Heng called Liu Gong and asked him to send two people to pick Gong Daoyang up.

While they waited, Du Heng gave Gong Daoyang some final instructions. ”Gong, you need to take the medicine twice tomorrow. Either come to the Health Clinic yourself to take it, or arrange for someone to come and fetch it. I guarantee you’ll be able to remove the arm sling in a week, and your hand will be able to move and grasp things within two weeks.”

”Thanks, brother. I won’t forget this.” Seeing Liu Gong and another person approach, Gong Daoyang waved goodbye to Du Heng.

Watching the backs of Gong Daoyang and his companions as they left, Yu Haiting, standing beside Du Heng, asked, ”Dean, it’s so dark, and the snow is coming down so heavily. Let’s see how things are tomorrow before heading back, alright?”

Du Heng also looked up at the relentlessly falling snowflakes. As much as he wanted to go home, he knew he could only wait until daylight tomorrow.

The next morning, however, when Du Heng stepped out of his dormitory and saw nearly twenty centimeters of accumulated snow in the courtyard, he completely abandoned the thought of going home.

He called his big brother to let him know, then spent the entire day sleeping in his dormitory.

「On the Second Day of the New Year,」 he drove straight to meet Dong Yuezhang, Wei Kaida, and the others for a get-together.

They spent the whole day having fun. 「Then, on the third day of the New Year,」 Du Heng prepared to pay New Year visits to An Chunhui, Li Jianwei, Xu Pinglin, and others.

However, while he was on his way, he received an unexpected phone call.
