Emperor’s Domination

“Who would do that?” Light God’s expression soured.

“You already know.” Li Qiye said.

“Bao Pu? But was Bao Pu not killed by Desolate Ancestor?” He replied.

“Think about who you are, a part taken from Bao Pu. Now, is Bao Pu alive?” Li Qiye smiled.

As he pondered this issue, he found himself plunging into a deep dimension. There, he overlapped with a shadow.

“Then who did Desolate Ancestor kill?” He asked.

“The question should be how to protect your life.” Li Qiye said.

“Senior, why would Bao Pu want to take over my life? He’s an immortal while I’m just a minor character.” He asked.

Why would an immortal scheme against a primal ancestor? The former could just seize everything instantly.

“If there was no scheme, why did he remove his kindness, holiness, and the blessing of the three immortals? In other words, the most excellent things from his previous life were given to you.” Li Qiye said.

“Kindness and holiness…” He repeated.

“There are other ways to get rid of certain affinities and characteristics without going this far. One fatten up a pig for a reason.” Li Qiye said.

“What is the reason?” He asked.

“It’s simple, because he is a broken immortal who is being eaten by the worms. Do you know what the best outcome is?” Li Qiye replied.

“What is it?” He murmured.

“The best outcome is for you to become an immortal and for him to take over and escape the worm. Of course, this possibility is minuscule, chances are the worms will follow. Nevertheless, this is why you have the blessing of the three immortals and the high heaven dao.” Li Qiye said.

“I cannot become an immortal.” He shook his head, aware of his potential. Becoming an overlord was possible, but not an immortal.

He lacked the same opportunities as Zhan Sansheng and Desolate Ancestor’s dao heart.

“A worse outcome is using you when necessary. It’s not rare for immortals to have avatars.” Li Qiye said.

He recalled Xian Chengtian’s mantras about how the immortals from the redemption grounds have replacement avatars walking about. Bao Pu should have the same as well.

He felt cold chills all over. His hard work and accomplishments might not be his own and were planned by someone else, no different from a fruit that is eaten once it is ripe.

“Of course, if you want to look on the bright side, at least it’s not an outsider seizing your body, it’s just you replacing yourself. Your life will serve to make you stronger.” Li Qiye said.

“No, this is my life, there’s no one else, stronger or not.” He couldn’t accept it.

“What if you can retain the memories and sentiments from this life, yet still become an immortal?” Li Qiye asked.

He had considered this already. Would he be willing to live such a life?

“No.” He answered firmly: “I refuse to be someone else’s shadow. No matter how good a life is, it’s not mine.”

“One must be the protagonist of their life no matter how bad it is, not a supporting cast or a clown.” Li Qiye said.

“Well said, Senior. As the protagonist, I can still experience every fiber of my being rather than letting someone else experience it for me.” He said boldly.

“Indeed, you cannot let anyone seize your life without resistance.” Li Qiye said sentimentally.

“I won’t allow it, I am not Bao Pu and will not become a part of Bao Pu.” He clenched his fists.

“Then how will you fight against it?” Li Qiye asked.

“Hmm…” He had no response. If Bao Pu could remove a part of himself to make him, Bao Pu could also replace him and take over.

How could a primal ancestor oppose an immortal?

“Please guide me, Senior.” He bowed his head.

Li Qiye sighed and handed a dao law over to him before speaking: “I can give you something to prevent an immediate possession but ultimately, it depends on your dao heart. If you waver even slightly, it’s over.”

He stared at the dao law in his hand and bowed again: “Senior, my life is mine to protect. If I waver, no one else can help me.”

“That’s right.” Li Qiye nodded.
