Emperor’s Domination

“I’m actually dead.” The puddle had a tough time accepting this. This divine intent had persisted for so long because he thought he was alive.

“You were dead long ago, calling it a possession isn’t accurate.” The skull said: “A soul was created and fused with the devil art. You were you but not you. Your powerful willpower and dao heart prevented your soul and a sliver of true self from melting entirely, that’s why you woke up when he was experimenting.”

“Alas, you still failed in the end and the fusion finished. In a sense, a different you is still alive while this version is trapped here, believed to be Bao Pu.” The skull added.

“What does this have to do with Bao Pu?” It had no idea what was happening despite this being a part of its experience.

“Someone purposely fabricated the stories.” Li Qiye said.

“The fusion created a new you but since you didn’t give up, a remnant intent continued to exist within desires. The desire to live was extremely strong and lasted until now. Alas, you are truly dead, whether it be the past you or the new you. One due to the process and the other due to Desolate Ancestor.” The skull elaborated.

“I suppose that’s not a bad end, it’s an honor to be killed by her.” It said before falling to silence.

“What should I do then?” It spoke after a while.

“What can you do? You’re dead.” The skull didn’t hold back.

Li Qiye shook his head and said: “Your remnant intent embedded in the desire shoulders many things and powers, but it won’t persevere for long. Since the desire isn’t yours and is only driven by your strong will to live, it will backfire eventually, resulting in endless agony…”

“Endless agony, I know, I know it all too well, but I don’t want to die.” It interrupted him.

“Then keep on struggling until you are devoured entirely. It won’t be easy though since you are molded by the Primal Devil Art while the desires came from the Primal Desire Art. Both originate from the primordial and they will make sure you exist for a long time.” The skull laughed.

“For a long time.” It repeated.

“Unless you give up. Otherwise, as long as you have the will to live, the devil art will keep you going for a long time despite the refinement from the desires. The two sides won’t give up and will just continue to torture you for eternity.” The skull said.

“A fate worse than death, eternal damnation.” It said.

“Yes, so just let go and break away from pain.” Li Qiye said.

“But that means being devoured completely.” It didn’t wish to give up after making it this far.

“I will cross you over.” Li Qiye sighed softly and said: “Since fate brought us together, you shall pass on to blissful reincarnation.”

“Is it possible?” It asked.

“Not difficult. I will cross you back to the past before the birth of this self.” Li Qiye said.

It didn’t answer.

“This is your only chance, and it’s the best outcome. How many people get to return to their youth? Not to mention your current fate.” The skull laughed.

“Thank you, Brother Li, for saving me.” It bowed in its liquid form and said: “Please send me back to my youth.”

“Very well.” Li Qiye nodded: “Go on your way.”

Having said that, primordial laws pierced the liquid and extracted the remnant intent. He then traced back time and created a temporal maelstrom.

Only Li Qiye could do this. Other immortals might want to do so but lacked the ability.

“Buzz.” A youth appeared within the maelstrom. He wore a green robe and carried a large burlap sack on his back. The sack was long and stuffed full, though it was unclear what was inside. He had a bright and handsome appearance with an ever-present radiant smile. [1]

“Young Noble.” He bowed with his infectious smile.

“Go, I will ferry you through this journey.” Li Qiye waved gently.

“Pop!” The maelstrom sucked in the youth before collapsing.

With the remnant intent released, the liquid of desire receded to its original spot due to the dao platform’s seals.

These seals were first meant to destroy it but were changed to keep it around.

“Haha, these guys managed to cut down and seal Fiendish Ground’s desires. An overlord can’t do this.” The skull said.

“Yes, not just one. It was step by step.” Li Qiye nodded.

“Fiendish Ground picked a target and Evil Transformation tagged along too. However, they needed a second target since one wasn’t enough, giving the brat a chance to slip in.” The skull speculated.

“Perhaps not.” Li Qiye shook his head: “You lack insight into emotions and desires. He knew what he was doing from start to finish, fully unconscious.”

“I see, a willing participant.” The skull said.

“And he planned on how to escape this as well.” Li Qiye looked at the pile of liquid: “He successfully borrowed Fiendish Ground’s power on top of protecting himself.”

“Hahaha, a primordial immortal being played by a brat, losing a portion of his power. That’s hilarious.” The skull understood everything now.

“Then Evil Transformation came.” Li Qiye said.

“Those two geezers always share the same pants.” The skull said: “But this brat was something else, ruthless, transplanting the Primal Devil Art into someone else while disguising it as a fortune, a pie from the sky.”

“It’s not particularly ruthless to sacrifice others to save himself.” Li Qiye said: “Exterminating his descendants, loved ones, and himself, now that is what I’d call ruthless.”

“When you mortals get ruthless, even immortals fear.” The skull chuckled.

“That’s how you all capsized.” Li Qiye said.
