Emperor’s Domination

“Of course, it’s dreadful but I have no problem killing it.” Li Qiye said.

She took a deep breath and became determined, closing her eyes while speaking: “Please, deliver me from this, Young Noble.”

“Like I said, I’m not here to kill you.” Li Qiye smiled.

“But Desolate Ancestor killed Bao Pu and Supreme Black Ancestor killed Progenitor Nine-secret.” She said.

“Doesn’t mean anything.” Li Qiye waved dismissively: “You should be celebrating since you didn’t make a move.”

“Then..” She stared at him, awaiting a response.

“I had some business here and saw your corpses by chance.” Li Qiye said.

“Ah, you wish to see the worm.” She understood.

“Close enough.” Li Qiye said: “It’s interesting, the suppression isn’t enough to kill but it’s weaker than it should be.”

“It is?” She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She tried everything including destroying her own body to take it down. Alas, nothing was fruitful.

“Why did it follow you each time?” Li Qiye smiled.

“Hmm…” She didn’t have an answer.

“Because it couldn’t find a better host. Stronger than you, not good, since the host can suppress it. Weaker than you is not good since the host won’t survive the parasitic process. It can’t live for long without finding a proper host.” Li Qiye said.

“So until I’m truly dead.” She said.

“Yes. These worms are notorious but that’s only for the first-gen. Young ones are killable.” Li Qiye said.

“What if it keeps on producing?” She wondered.

“Subsequent generations become weaker until it’s no different from a regular parasite.” Li Qiye said.

“And the first can devour immortals.” She shuddered.

“Depends on the immortal.” Li Qiye said: “Corpses are still best since they can’t resist. A stronger immortal might destroy the worms and their master. The future-generation worms aren’t useful for the master. They are less effective in the power channeling and can only make puppets.”

“Like Nine-secret Progenitor.” She understood and felt a tinge of sadness. Her progenitor was truly dead, no different from the countless corpses in the wasteland. Their true fate had been devoured entirely.

“Yes, there is still a chance for you with the help of an overlord.” Li Qiye said.

“You know why I couldn’t.” She smiled wryly.

“Since fate brought us together again, I will help you. Most importantly, I can’t eat your noodles for nothing.” Li Qiye said.

“Thank you, Young Noble!” Hope and joy surfaced in her eyes.

“We can get started now.” Li Qiye said and she immediately closed her eyes, focusing mentally.

“Buzz.” A primordial wisp appeared on his fingertip as he touched her forehead, illuminating her body.

Her physical frame became transparent and a faint, transparent thing could be seen. It resembled the life-fuel cicada, only longer.

It sensed danger and swam around to find a safe spot away from the light. Alas, the illumination was omnipresent, forcing it to hide within her mind.

“This will be painful.” He said and drilled his finger into her forehead.

“Ahh!” She bellowed in agony.

The space within her head seemed to be melting, allowing him to reach inside.

She twitched continuously, feeling as if her soul and true fate were being crushed. The worm couldn’t escape from the full seal. It roared and became gigantic for a second before being forced back to its real size.
