Emperor’s Domination

Corpse Wasteland and its fabric of reality remained after Bao Pu’s death. Desolate Ancestor masterfully sent the continents back to their original places without turning them into forbidden zones. Perhaps she wanted life to return to the land in the future.

After the battle, many big shots appeared in Corpse Wasteland. Even regular cultivators tagged along.

Although the power of the dead immortal was destroyed, they knew risks were present. Nevertheless, they couldn’t wait due to one reason – the potential fortunes.

To be blunt, some came for the corpse, even just one piece was enough. Treasures might not be around but there could be remnant pieces of him.

Some fantasized about the complete corpse. The benefit of this could outweigh having a supreme overlord in the sect.

Of course, they were happy with anything since a small piece could make them mighty. Taking one more step back, a drop of true blood was also more than enough. Drinking it might turn someone into a primal ancestor or higher.

Even regular blood sufficed. After all, if Bao Pu was killed, some of his blood should have stained the land. The soil or mud stained by it could produce incredible materials. The potential of finding his weapons and treasures also tempted people.

Thus, all of this made cultivators risk the trip. However, once they landed and explored the cracks and crevices of the continents, they found nothing – no corpse, not even a piece of flesh or traces of blood.

If it wasn’t for the shattered land, they wouldn’t think an earthshattering battle had occurred here.

This confused everyone because primal ancestors and heaven-slayers had incredible techniques. Why was there no trace left?

“Utter eradication?” A primal ancestor said, thinking Desolate Ancestor might have completely wiped him out.

Of course, no one would dare go and ask her this. Nevertheless, this became a reasonable explanation – her destroying everything relating to him.

“Potentially.” A peer said while feeling something was wrong regarding the empty state of Corpse Wasteland.

“I wonder what happened.” A primal ancestor said.

“Not a simple destruction.” The skull muttered upon entering Corpse Wasteland: “Nothing living at all.”

“There are living people, just not the kind you think of.” Li Qiye said.

“What are you here for? Your disciple already obliterated him. Are there still secrets left?” The skull asked.

“Of course, secrets behind secrets.” Li Qiye smiled.

“You’re not going to tell?” The skull laughed.

“Those who are meant to know will know, there’s no need to say it.” Li Qiye said.

“Hah, is that so?” The skull didn’t believe him and said: “Sounds more like you’re setting people up. Those who think they’ve already won have no idea they’re just pawns in your scheme.”

“No scheme at all, just consequences of choices.” Li Qiye said.

“Hahaha, they believe they are in charge, not knowing they were mere cogs.” The skull said.

“Who are you talking about?” Li Qiye smiled.

“Xian Chengtian, Bao Pu, the two redemption grounds, even Zhang Sansheng, that brat.” The skull said.

“They have reasons to be confident.” Li Qiye shook his head.

“The two of you are just messing with them. Of course, escaping is futile. Nothing’s happening is just a coincidence.” The skull said.

“It’s fate, we’re not messing with anyone.” Li Qiye said and searched for more secrets.

He noticed something shimmering deep under the soil. When he unearthed it and took a closer look, it turned out to be a cicada carved from pristine white jade – flawlessly crafted with no imperfections.

It felt smooth and warm to the touch while emitting gentle rays.
