Emperor’s Domination

“Just a silly skull now.” Li Qiye stared and assessed.

“It’s fine, I’m just happy to be alive. Starting over as an ant is just fine, let alone this skull form.” The skull said.

“You would go that low?” Li Qiye smiled.

“Nothing is better than being alive.” The skull said.

“You could have done better.” Li Qiye said.

“I don’t want to reborn as an immortal and ruin my beginning.” The skull said.

“I suppose only Heavenrealm is suitable.” Li Qiye admitted.

“That’s right. Once I set up my ant nest, you can come have a cup of tea. I’m sure you will have some free time there.” The skull said.

“Maybe when I feel like having a cup of tea, you’ll already be dead.” Li Qiye smiled.

“Bah, watch your unlucky mouth. I have yet to become an ant and you’re already cursing me.” The skull angrily said.

“The odds are against you, starting over in Heavenrealm.” Li Qiye said.

“Fine, I’ll be sure to leave behind a nice teapot even after my death.” The skull said.

“That’s not a bad idea.” Li Qiye smiled.

The skull jumped on his shoulder and said: “Go, to Heavenrealm.”

“When did I say I want to go right now?” Li Qiye said.

“Then where are we going?” The skull asked.

“To Heaven World, a small and distant place unknown to all there.” Li Qiye gazed at the distance.

“Someone you can’t let go?” The skull asked.

“Not quite, just grabbing a very important item.” Li Qiye said.

“I know! Something he left behind for you.” The skull said.

Li Qiye answered with a smile.

“When did the conspiracy start? Sigh, poor brat, got sold by his master and still tries to make him money.” The skull asked.

“When did this happen?” Li Qiye smiled.

“What else do you call it? The brat did everything to kill you, act like he was going to inherit his master’s legacy.” The skull said.

“Not quite, he just got too ambitious and hurt himself.” Li Qiye smiled.

“I’m sure his master didn’t tell him all the secrets, some items weren’t meant for him either.” The skull said.

“Everyone has their ideas, they might not be for me, just whoever comes first.” Li Qiye said.

“It’s useless with him anyway. What is he going to do with them in Three Immortals, kill old geezers like us? That would be a waste.” The skull said before realizing something: “Wait, what did he leave for you?”

Li Qiye didn’t answer either.

Intuition told the skull something and blurted: “Holy crap, it’s true then. Damn, I kept wondering why he left it in Three Immortals instead of Heavenrealm.”

“I don’t know who it would be for in Heavenrealm either.” Li Qiye said.

“So the whole traveling to Three Immortals to find a successor was bullshit.” The skull said: “He came to specifically leave this thing for you.”

“Who knows what the truth is? Everything just worked out like this.” Li Qiye said.

“Nonsense, he definitely got here from Heavenrealm.” The skull said.

“Are you sure about that?” Li Qiye smiled.

“Where else then?” The skull wondered: “Wait, from where we came from?”

“How do I know?” Li Qiye said.

“You surely do, it’s truly a conspiracy.” The skull said.

“I’ve never met him before.” Li Qiye said.

“As if that’s necessary.” The skull said.

“Damn, an outsider like you is more trustworthy than us?” The skull complained.

“That’s a testament to how you all have lived.” Li Qiye said.

“Bah.” The skull disagreed: “We’ve lived long enough yet never consumed anyone, that tells the whole story.”

“True.” Li Qiye nodded.

“All in all, we are on the same path, he’s just up ahead. Now he’s looking down on us?” The skull mumbled.

“If you think it’s that good, I’ll give it to you.” Li Qiye said.

“Really?” The skull stared at him.

“Of course, I’ll tell you the method to get it.” Li Qiye said and took out the lantern-like tube.

“Is this a trap?” The skull didn’t dare to accept: “Maybe all of this is to bait you.”

“No one can answer this.” Li Qiye shrugged.

“What is the probability of this being a trap?” The skull asked.

“Trying to get more information from me?” Li Qiye smiled.

“No, we’re on the same side, there’s no benefit in your death for me so I want to warn you just in case.” The skull said.

“Everything is possible.” Li Qiye said.

“So should you get it? It might be a pit and the guy is waiting to bury you alive.” The skull said.

“It’s not that easy to bury me alive.” Li Qiye said: “Whether this is a trap or not, it can go either way.”

“I have no idea what you two are doing.” The skull said.

“We have nothing to do with each other, let alone scheming together. If anything, we might fight to the death at first sight.” Li Qiye said.

“Haha, sometimes, a fight ot the death can be deceiving.” The skull laughed.
