Emperor’s Domination

“You can go being a bastard, I’ll keep doing what I want to do.” Splendor Monarch eventually shook his head and smiled.

“Perhaps leaving behind an opportunity is not a bad thing.” Li Qiye said.

“What opportunity?” He asked.

“To be in control of your fate.” Li Qiye said.

“I don’t care, that can be the issue once I’m dead.” He said.

“Sure, but what if it happens before you’re dead?” Li Qiye smirked.

“What are you implying?” His expression changed.

“Don’t forget about your dreams. Splendor is one thing, but you were too lazy to eat while moping in bed.” Li Qiye said.

“I couldn’t die from hunger anyway, no big deal.” He said.

“So what percent does the lazy you make up?” Li Qiye asked before answering: “One-third, the others are Paragon and Longevity.”

“And?” He said.

“You are in charge now but will this last forever?” Li Qiye asked.

“Why not? The will is with me.” He smiled coldly, completely confident.

“I hope you can live your happy and luxurious way too.” Li Qiye nodded.

“Can’t ask for more.” He said.

“But...” Li Qiye continued: “I believe you don’t know enough about him compared to me. You think you understand just because of the memories. There is zero interaction with your past self, only memories allowed to be passed down to you. That doesn’t represent the whole truth.”

“Of course I understand myself.” He disagreed.

“There are no ties outside of shared memories and information, no link of flesh and blood or anything deeper.” Li Qiye said: “You’ve never experienced his methods and schemes. It’s just the version of him you want to see and what he wants you to see.”

“What are you saying?” He asked with a serious expression.

“I’m just letting you know this might not last since you won’t always be in control.” Li Qiye said.

“I have absolute confidence in being in charge.” He declared.

“One-third chance of victory.” Li Qiye said.

He paused, realizing the issue.

“If they are involved, zero chance.” Li Qiye glanced at Let and Right.

He glared at them and asked: “You two?”

Left and Right exchanged glances before shaking their head in unison.

“Boss, no matter what it is, your approval is essential.” Left said.

“Yes, we will listen to you, Boss.” Right nodded repeatedly.

“Did you hear that? Splendor Monarch will be my title for as long as I’m alive.” He said.

“I trust that they won’t interfere with you and require your approval, but which version of you? When that time comes, they’ll have a decision to make.” Li Qiye said.

“Answer him.” He stared at them again.

“Boss, it is entirely up to you whether we go to Heavenrealm or stay in Three Immortals.” Right said.

“And if I want to return to Three Immortals later?” He asked.

The two had an awkward expression upon hearing this.

“Answer.” He ordered with a rare serious tone. Although Left and Right were immortals, he was one of the greatest beings in history. Moreover, their relationship was special.

“You will not return, Boss.” Left gave a definite answer.

“Yes, and you might like it more.” Right said.

“Plus, it’s a matter of being unable to return.” left said.

“Another version of you will grow stronger in Heavenrealm, you won’t be able to return.” Li Qiye said.

“Then what about me?” He asked.

“You will still be you, nothing will change when it comes to your body or anything else. It’s just that Splendor Monarch will be no more.” Li Qiye said.

“Imprisoned?” He asked.

“Or devoured.” Li Qiye said: “One version seeks everlasting life, the other seeks ultimate power. There will be an opportunity to merge into one and form the true you. You won’t be able to stop it and your existence won’t be necessary. Of course, this is a good thing for most. They would view it as a transformation or a rebirth, even. You would become an apex ruler once more. It’s progress and excellence.”

“Bullshit, isn’t it just my getting eaten alive without even leaving the bones?” He understood but couldn’t accept it.

“That’s why it’s best to enjoy it whilst you can.” Li Qiye said: “Enjoy all the luxuries and once you die, there’s nothing to worry about.”

He became dejected since he understood the ambition of those two souls through the dreams. If they were to fully awaken one day, Splendor Monarch would be over.

“This is my life, no one can take it from me.” He said before staring at the duo: “Yes?”

“Of course, Boss, you make all the decisions.” The two said sincerely without any hesitation.
