Emperor’s Domination

Li Qiye slowly sipped his tea while gazing at the scenery outside with a faint smile.

As the tree branches swayed to the wind, the peak seemed to fade in and out of the fog. The only visible thing was the endless ocean dotted with islands, both on the surface and up above.

Looking further down, there seemed to be a deeper layer beneath the ocean - another world. The two worlds overlapped in a disorienting dimensional fashion.

“I’m just not here to drink tea, am I?” Li Qiye smiled.

“Young Noble, what is your impression of me?” She poured another cup of tea and asked softly.

He stared at her prideworthy figure barely hidden by the loose dress and said: “Excellent.”

“Then would you take me in?” She asked.

If anyone else were to hear this, they would be shocked since she was a heaven-slayer with a notorious reputation.

“Unfortunately, I’m not here to look for a maid, whether it be regular or bedwarming duties.” Li Qiye shook his head.

“So I am not qualified to be a maid.” She let out a sigh.

“It’s all a matter of fate. If it’s not there, then it won’t happen.” Li Qiye smiled.

His casual response would surprise everyone too, refusing a heaven-slayer.

“Is this enough fate?” She took out something from her bosom - a light on the verge of extinguishing but still served as a guide amidst the darkness.

It warmed the soul regardless of how frigid the surrounding was. Darkness could no longer overwhelm someone.

Li Qiye accepted it for a closer look.

“Buzz.” Its light became brighter than ever.

“Looks like there is a fateful connection.” He smiled and returned it to her.

“Then you will accept me?” She became excited.

“No rush.” Li Qiye shook his head: “Do you know what this is?”

“I do not.” She responded: “I ran to Isles of Darkness in search of a hiding spot and came across it, granting me passage to Soaring Peak. In my dreams, a figure often appeared and sat by me.”

“Yes, only sitting down, nothing else.” He smiled.

“You left it behind, Young Noble?” Luosha asked softly.

“Since you’re asking, there might truly be some kind of fate between us.” Li Qiye said.

“Then you will take me in?” She stared straight at him. One could see her fair and soft skin through the tassels.

“You’re still a heaven-slayer, don’t sound so desperate.” Li Qiye smiled.

“A heaven-slayer is no different from an insect before you.” She said.

“You do know how to flatter me, but some fate connections are shallow. Perhaps you need to find your own fortune.” Li Qiye said.

“So it’s still a no.” She lamented.

Li Qiye chuckled and drank the tea.

“I often feel that although I am a heaven-slayer, my life is still more fragile than paper.” She continued.

“If you’re fragile, what about other living beings?” He said.

“There is no difference between others and I in your eyes.” She said.

“And everyone beneath the heaven-slayer realm is the same in yours. Just a different perspective but fundamentally the same. Everyone has to live for themselves, albeit with varying ambition and way of life.” He said.

“I suppose I was wallowing in self-pity.” She said.

“You wish to escape your fate?” He asked.

“Can one truly escape? I couldn’t when I was weak, becoming a desolate god didn’t change this, the same for heaven-slayer.” She said.

Given her beauty, her soft sigh and brows furrowing could captivate and make hearts beat faster. One would want to reach out and smooth away the furrow in her brows.

“Feeling like your fate is tragic and wishing to fight it.” Li Qiye nodded.

“Tragic indeed, I was a refugee with my parents. They suffered and died, leaving me as an orphan in this cruel world.” She said.

Li Qiye sipped his tea and listened.

“I persevered and made it to Trinity Kingdom as an outer disciple, paying with sweat and tears.” Luosha recalled the past.

“I was rewarded with the help of the sect, finishing my grand dao and becoming a desolate god.” She smiled because of this amazing achievement.

“Impressive indeed.” Li Qiye praised.

“I cherished the given opportunity so I worked harder and fought fiercer than anyone else. In the end, perseverance paid off and I reached the heavenreach stage.” She continued.
