Emperor’s Domination

After the wave of anger, the five progenitors calmed down and could only sigh. Their reaction was warranted since they had risked their lives and entrusted their fates to him. Eventually, he fell into darkness and became the type they sought to eliminate.

Their relationship was once stronger than blood ties, having faced near-death scenarios countless times. The betrayal shook them to the core.

“Certain things are inevitable, just a matter of time.” Li Qiye said.

“We didn’t think we could wait until your arrival, or that the parting with the three immortals would be permanent.” Gold Ancestor said.

“It’s not that dire yet.” Li Qiye said.

“It is from our perspective. Sir, we can’t handle the cost involved nor do we dare to let you take the responsibility.” Wood Ancestor sighed.

“The three immortals have severed themselves, there is no rebuilding. Just existing in the present is already hard enough, hoping for mutual destruction. But now, you’re back.” Earth Ancestor said.

“The move was brutal enough.” Li Qiye said.

“No one expected that during the battle’s climax between the three immortals versus Moshi and the Redemption Grounds, the three immortals would be ambushed and invaded by a corpseworm.” Fire Fairy said bitterly.

“The battle was still undecided.” Earth Ancestor said: “The three immortals had a great chance of winning because although Moshi had ascended to the immortal level as well, his dao was not consolidated. As for the Redemption Grounds, they always had certain limitations imposed on them.”

“Hmph, he had sold the three immortals way before that to the opponents, that’s why they were prepared with the right formations. That fight wouldn’t have been close otherwise.” Another progenitor said.

“Either way, things looked good until the ambush. It was too late when everyone got there, he was long gone.” Gold Ancestor said.

“If we didn’t get there, the bastard would have consumed the three immortals.” Earth Ancestor was furious recalling this.

“Yes, or share the meal with others.” Water Ancestor sighed.

“So the ambush delivered enough damage.” Li Qiye said.

“We weren’t there during a fight. Once we arrived, we saw the three immortals struggling against Moshi due to the immortal corpseworm corroding them.” Gold Ancestor said.

It was too late to stop the process, so the three immortals severed themselves to avoid further complications, especially for him to take advantage of the situation.” Fire Fairy added.

“I should have killed him when he was grievously injured back then.” Earth Ancestor said.

“We didn’t know, he was still our brother back then, a powerful ally against the supreme terrors.” Gold Ancestor shook his head.

“Now that I think about it, I wonder if those injuries were real. He might have gone into recovery to hide from us, perhaps already covering the supreme terrors’ corpses.” Wood Ancestor mused.

“We’ve talked about this, he must have been the one who took the missing things. We never paid enough attention and he had always been the one to sweep the battlefield. We didn’t have a problem with this at all.” Gold Ancestor said.

“Our lack of caution allowed his greed to manifest into reality.” Water Ancestor said with regrets.

“Perhaps we are still being too optimistic. He didn’t fall into darkness from being tempted by the supreme terrors. He was long gone before then because his worm dao couldn’t have been cultivated in a short time. We all know this to be true, we just don’t want to accept that our brother was a devil, that our connections were mere lies.” Fire Fairy didn’t hold back.

“He thought about devouring all of us as we fought wholeheartedly together.” She concluded.

A brief silence took over.

“His conscience was fed to the dogs.” Earth Ancestor remarked.

“I bet he thought he was being merciful and kind for not devouring us earlier. He needed us as support and thought of us as nothing more than tools.” Fire Fairy said.

“We cannot dwell on the past, the fault is our own for being weak. We can’t even keep up with some of the juniors now, let alone him.” Water Ancestor sighed.

“With one foot in the grave now.” She smiled bitterly.

The progenitors had a sad expression after realizing their helplessness.

“Then recover well and return to the apex.” Li Qiye said.

“Sir, no need to console us. We didn’t know our strength and recklessly took the vanguard, resulting in losing half of our cultivation.” Earth Ancestor said: “Now even if these injuries are salvageable, we can’t live long enough until then.”

“Yes, we are aware of how futile it is. This will be our resting grounds, I only hate how I can’t contribute anything outside of waiting for death.” Gold Ancestor said.

“So this grand momentum is the final attempt?” Li Qiye glanced at the village.

“We know it will be useless.” Gold Ancestor said.

“Our old bones are useless, but Sir, the three immortals can still be saved. You are our last chance, our faction has tried everything already.” Fire Fairy said.

“What else can I do?” Li Qiye smiled: “I recently came across something that could be considered a legacy, it will be of use.”

“A legacy?” The group excitedly spoke in unison.

“It would be impossible to save them with anything less. They severed themselves on top of wounds from Moshi and the others. Still existing is miraculous.” Li Qiye said.

“The great immortals do not deserve this fate.” Earth Ancestor gritted his teeth in frustration.

“They are still holding on.” Fire Fairy said softly.

“They have a way to deal with this, your faction does as well. However, you choose not to do it. Because of this, their lives are worth saving.” Li Qiye said.

“We fight for Three Immortals World but it does not belong to us but rather, all living beings. The three immortals know they can devour everything and recover, of course, they will never do so.” Gold Ancestor said.

“The emotions and attachments for home remain even on the death bed. Such emotions are precious and worth my effort.” Li Qiye said sentimentally.

“We thank you on behalf of the three immortals.” The progenitors sighed and bowed deeply to express their gratitude.

“Shall we get started?” Li Qiye said.
