Emperor’s Domination

“What if I want to trace him?” Li Qiye asked.

“Is that your goal, Sir?” The old man said.

“He had carried out his plan and died during Old Strike Pact, what do you think is his next goal?” Li Qiye smiled.

“Another attack, against an immortal.” The old man didn’t need time to think.

“Which one?” Li Qiye asked.

“An accessible and isolated one, the right circumstances for a backstab.” The old man said.

“Yes, a sure-kill backstab to devour the opponent, not just kill.” Li Qiye said.

Six-style was startled to hear this despite having an idea already.

“He wants to break through. His cultivation is most likely consolidated so he’s ready.” The old man said.

“At least one is eaten, perhaps not completely but more than half. Unsure about any other.” Li Qiye said.

“Is this how to become an immortal? It’s impossible, only the three immortals are at this level with our dao.” Fog interjected.

“You will be the first since you created and experimented with this dao. No one else can catch up.” Water told the old man.

“Everything still came from the three immortals since this world is connected with them.” The old man shrugged.

“In a sense, you’re their disciple. Wait, no, they were immortals then while you were just a barbaric brute.” Water chuckled before changing his mind.

“The immortals were interested enough in a brute to teach him cultivation?” Fog asked.

“It wasn’t like that. He was very talented, observing the world and the stars, he came up with a way to cultivate on his own.” The old man said.

“So he was like a child learning how to speak and crawl during the inception of this world. The three immortals must have been touched and decided to teach him.” Water said: “So more like a son than a disciple, Fire Ancestor most likely wasn’t treated as well.”

“The dao was mature already during Fire Ancestor’s era. It was passed down to the world for everyone to cultivate.” The old man said.

“I see, so Fire Ancestor was only a disciple and he was viewed as a son. Such a strong relationship could blind the eyes, was he treated well?” Water asked.

“No such thing, he was only given guidance.” The old man shook his head.

“Only guidance? No, he observed the grand dao of the world changing during its infancy. His beginning was the world’s beginning, he was the closest to the three immortals’ original dao, essentially a bloodline inheritor or awfully close to this level.” Water disagreed: “Hah, Zither Empress and Fire Ancestor didn’t have any of this.”

The old man didn’t respond.

“This aided him in concealing his true nature.” Li Qiye said.

“Fire Ancestor was punished for his mistake, but what if a son were to do the same?” Water said.

“Not a son.” The old man denied this notion.

“So a disciple was punished and a son was given another chance, how interesting.” Water said.

“It was a dangerous game, bad children can be the end of their parents.” Fog interjected.

“That is true. Fire Ancesor’s dao heart shattered due to fear, he wanted to find a way to escape. As for you, seeing the door made your greed go out of control.” Li Qiye told the old man: “Eat whenever possible instead of cultivating diligently.”

“Stronger after each meal.” Water said.

“After one immortal would surely be a second.” Li Qiye said.

“But who?” Six-style had goosebumps.

“Whoever is not prepared, so doesn’t have to be the weakest but the most accessible for a backstab.” Water shrugged.

“The three immortals.” Fog said.

“But didn’t they die to Moshi during Immortal Slaughtered War?” Six-style asked.

Everyone knew of this war when Moshi and two members of the six Redemption Grounds killed the three immortals.

The war lasted a long while with heavy casualties for both factions. The final battle shattered Three Immortals.

“No, the truth wasn’t that simple. The three immortals wouldn’t have lost so fast given their abilities, and perhaps their defeat was due to an ambush.” Water said.

“Son killing parents isn’t a rare thing.” Fog said.

“Who knows, maybe, maybe not.” The old man shrugged. Nevertheless, he understood that this was most likely the case since he knew himself more than anyone else.

“Well, tell us already.” Water tapped his shoulder but he didn’t respond.

“Who else can be considered an immortal now?” Six-style asked.

“Evil Transformation and Fiendish Ground for sure. When Zhan Sansheng appears again, that’s another.” Water said.

“Anyone else?” This topic was too distant for Six-style.

“Have to count Desolate Ancestor.” The old man said.

“Desolate Ancestor is an immortal?” Six-style said emotionally.

“We can’t keep up with the younger generation. They excel while we stagnate.” Water said sentimentally.

“Who is the best choice?” Li Qiye asked the old man with a smile.
