Emperor’s Domination

“Rise.” Li Qiye sighed: “Since I am already here, I might as well spare you the agony. However, you will continue to shoulder the deserved karma.”

“Thank you, Progenitor, thank you!” The temple lord became ecstatic since he couldn’t ask for more: “I accept the karma, it is what I sowed with my pursuit.”

After all, this temple was still an amazing location for crafting. He would be more than happy living here without being tortured by the tribulation. Being a ghost was his choice, his karma, and a perfect outcome.

“First, since you are connected to the rules and laws of the ghost market, you surely know of its past.” Li Qiye changed the topic.

“Great question, Progenitor. I might have the most memories regarding the rules of the market out of anyone.” He said.

“Not Ghost Monarch?” Six-style found this surprising.

“Well, sure, because he is made from laws. There are cons to that, not to mention he had been cleansed before. Although I am connected to the laws, I am still external.” He said.

“Cleansed, what do you mean? Who did it?” She became startled.

“From the battle.” Li Qiye said.

“Yes, Progenitor, others refer to it as Old Pact Strike.” He said.

“So you witnessed the battle?” She happily asked.

The rules forced the ghost market to go into hiding during the battle but if the temple lord was connected, he might have seen something.

“As I said, I am only connected, not a part of it. I couldn’t and still can’t observe the whole market.” He said.

“You still had some awareness.” Li Qiye said.

“Yes, Progenitor, I felt the commotions.” He said.

“Start from the beginning with the market disappearing.” Li Qiye said.

“It was interesting. I felt two things first, not the progenitors such as Gao Yang and Wang Yangming.”

“What were they?” Six-style became impatient.

“One was a weapon, but not quite a weapon but rather, a pure force like Heavenly Wrath.” He said.

“That’s the legacy.” LI Qiye said.

“The weapon created by the ancient progenitors.” She added.

“Given my obsession with crafting, my awareness of weapons was rather potent. It overshadowed the auras of the progenitors, its power was beyond imagination. At the very least, I was in awe, it wasn’t something belonging to Three Immortals.” He continued.

“What about the other thing you sensed?” Li Qiye said.

“What’s strange was the unprecedented evacuation from the laws. Everything originated from the laws of the market went into hiding with the appearance of the ancient progenitors.” He commented.

“They controlled the laws?” She murmured.

“To be more exact, one of them.” Li Qiye said: “The strike was doomed from the start.”

“Could this controller have been the real target?” She asked.

“There was no target when they came to Heavenfall.” The temple lord shook his head.

“I see. What happened next?” She asked while thinking that everything was in line with Li Qiye’s speculation.

“I wasn’t there at the battlefield and only relied on my connection with the laws.” He pondered carefully before replying: “The battle started instantly upon their arrival and they were caught off guard.”

“The traitor among the group made the first move.” Li Qiye said.

“I don’t know who it was, but this person was strong enough to overwhelm Gao Yang and the others.” He said.

“It didn’t stop there.” Li Qiye said.

“Yes, as they were losing ground, they finally unleashed their weapon.” His heart beat faster as he recalled: “The move nearly pierced the whole market. This was when the laws’ controller took action, borrowing the market’s power to stop it.”

“Who could do such a thing?” She wondered.

“The legendary immortals, two of them are related to the market.” He said.

“Rumor has it they couldn’t leave, right? So how did they get there?” She asked.

“A representative.” Li Qiye stroked his chin and said: “Interesting, grooming disciple and choosing representative. This wasn’t the end of it.”

“The shockwaves swept through the hidden market. As for the summoned laws, they were wiped out, which was why I mentioned Ghost Monarch being cleansed before. The new one is young.” He said: “The oddest part is during the stalemate, another power erupted among Gao Yang’s group.”

“How strong was this one?” She asked.

“If I have to describe it, I would put it on the same level as the legendary immortals.” He said.

“Stronger than the borrowed force of the market?” She asked.

“It was strange. The market laws’ eruption couldn’t be weaker than the new power but it didn’t last long. Perhaps the source was cut after a while.” He pondered before responding.

“The immortal-like power didn’t last long either.” Li Qiye interjected.

“It is as if you were there in person, Progenitor.” He said: “Yes, the new power reached the limit in the blink of an eye but weakened considerably later.”

“Still lacked mastery.” Li Qiye said.

“I do not know who wielded these two powers but I’m positive they didn’t come via cultivation.” He said.

“What happened next?” Six-style asked.

“The two powers grievously injured Gao Yang’s group.” He said before pausing.
