Emperor’s Domination

“Buzz.” The ghost markets lit up with dao laws acting as lanterns.

These dao laws were different from cultivators’ dao laws. They appeared and started twisting, seemingly changing into a supreme chapter.

The ghosts felt their dao harmonizing with it, especially the grand ghosts.

“Ghost Monarch!” They immediately stared into the horizon.

“The laws are back!” A minor ghost became happy.

“They’re still around, that’s good, that’s good.” A grand ghost heaved a sigh of relief.

The market was made of laws so without them for a long period, it would cease to exist along with all ghosts.

The mightiest ghosts sensed something different. For example, the lord of Armament Temple was the first to notice it.

“A different Ghost Monarch.” He murmured.

“Boom!” As the laws twisted together, a figure manifested above them.

He was none other than Nameless Emissary, albeit different from before. His left hand seemed made of iron wires - dao laws with complicated details.

Anyone staring at them would like they were staring into a boundless ocean.

“A new Ghost Monarch is here!” Some started shouting.

“The laws have reappeared, the ghost market is stabilized now.” The lords in the temples yet to be seen also came out to greet the new monarch.

Li Qiye observed the process from a distance, looking pleased with the outcome.

“Time for leave.” Li Qiye said.

“Sir, may I ask something of you?” The bald old man asked.

“What is it?” Li Qiye stared at him.

He paused for a moment before requesting: “Could you find and kill him?”

“You already know that if he’s an immortal and wants to hide, it’ll be very difficult to find him. I don’t have much time either. He only showed up before to carry out a plan or to devour. Now, he knows something is up and won’t appear again.” Li Qiye said.

“The method is to use my divine intent.” He arched his chest forward.

“You are aware of the price.” Li Qiye said.

“Yes, I will cease to exist.” He sighed.

“Right, there are ways to heal a living person doing this, but you are a ghost and one made from a dao avatar. Your divine intent was created through sheer effort and pain. Moreover, you have severed the past and now, it is fully independent. This makes it rather precious. Once I take it, you will be doomed, there is no way out of it.” Li Qiye said earnestly.

“I know, but I am willing as long as it ends with his death.” He said.

“As you have said, you have nothing to do with him any longer. Plus, you are a living body, not a living being chained to the mortal world.” Li Qiye continued.

“I thought about this during the severing, I was just a dao avatar.” The man said.

“Yes, the one with the karma is your true body. These matters had nothing to do with you.” Li Qiye said.

“But I was one with him once, we walked on the same path.” He said.

“True, a dao avatar is a part of the true body.” Li Qiye said: “Hence your guilt.”

“I cannot avoid feeling guilty whenever it is brought up.” He admitted.

“It means the true body already had these thoughts long before the transaction.” Li Qiye said.

“Yes, and the immortal corpseworm was essential.” He said softly.

“It is more than just greed, hatred too.” Li Qiye said: “The three immortals showed you all the light path in this desolate world, allowing all living beings to enjoy its ample spirit energy.”

“Water was right, they treated me like a son.” He said.

“I wonder how Fire Ancestor would feel if he were to hear this. He was only a disciple of one while all three viewed you as a son.” Li Qiye said.

“All of this only makes the guilt intolerable.” He said.

“I suppose the karma and guilt will still haunt you. A human heart is inferior to a ghost heart in this case. So much love and kindness, all forgotten after a refusal for the legacy.” Li Qiye nodded.

“I am ashamed.” He sighed.

“You have changed your way and severed the past.” Li Qiye said.

“I want to end it too, but I cannot do so. Thus, I offer you my divine intent so that you can finish it, Sir.” He said: “But unfortunately, I have nothing worthy of your attention, only sincerity.”

“No need.” Li Qiye stared at him and shook his head.

“I understand, I shouldn’t have asked.” He paused briefly before sighing.

“I didn’t say I won’t kill him.” Li Qiye smiled.

“...” He excitedly said: “Sir, you agree?”

“Missed once already, can’t miss a second time. I certainly will kill him.” Li Qiye smiled.
